• Size of int in C on different architectures

  I am aware that the specification of the C language does not dictate the exact size of each integer type (e.g., int). What I am wondering is: Is there a way in C (not C++) to define an integer type with a specific size that ensures it will be the same across different architectures? Like: typedef int8 <an integer with 8 bits> typedef int16 <an integer with 16 bits> Or any other way that will allow other parts of the program to be compiled on different architecture.

• What would cause my Silverlight .xap to quadruple in size suddenly?

  I've been working on a Silverlight application. I just noticed that the .xap file is now four times as big as it was, what could have caused that? Here's some other info: there seems to now be many more language settings in the bin/Release directory I checked "Reduce size of .xap" in under Properties/Silverlight but that just brought it down from 1300 to 1200.   Hi I want to get a bunch of dom-objects with xpath and loop through those to check if they contains a specified text, is this possible in the Selenium IDE or rc? Perl is my prefered language XPath would be something like xpath=//tbody[@class='table-data']/tr/td/div[@class='table-item'] This would return all row items in the table, but i need to check each div if contains a specified text string. • Nunit test project won't compile under mono

  Question: I am implementing an OpenSource version of Microbosoft Sync framework, [http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...isplaylang=en] (Checkout: git clone [email protected]:quandary/SyncFramework.git) but I ran into a unittest problem. I added a nunit test-project to the C# project, but it's not compiling... I created the project on Windows, and there it compiled well. On Linux, the project compiles well, but compiling the unittest, I always get: Assembly 'nunit.framework, Version=2.5.5.10112, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=96d09 My problem now is I installed nunit and added a reference to it (on Linux with mono), but I still get this message, I take out 'require specific version', and I still get this message... I also removed the windows reference to nunit, but still no change.

  Let's say we have a memory-intensive class like an Image, with chainable methods like Resize() and ConvertTo(). If this class is immutable, won't it take a huge amount of memory when I start doing things like i.Resize(500, 800).Rotate(90).ConvertTo(Gif), compared to a mutable one which modifies itself? How to handle a situation like this in a functional language?

I don't really like template systems that force you to make use of another language just to make it easier for designers (apparently). • codeigniter site, swfobject not fully loading swf

  I am having a strange problem. I have a view that is supposed to load a swf. The swf was compiled with Flex and the mxml preloader displays but it loads a blank screen. When I path directly to the file it loads fully and works fine. In the DLL that processes the events, I conditionally call ShowWindow on the handle of the window of the process who set the hook. That code works perfectly on a 32-bit OS (XP) and as a 32-bit application on a 64-bit OS, but when compiled to 64-bit, the window is not showing. • Linux shared library that uses a shared library undefined symbol

  two shared libraries liba.so and libb.so. liba.so uses libb.so. All c files are compiled with -fPIC. Linking uses -shared. When we call dlopen on liba.so it cannot find symbols in libb.so...we get the "undefined symbol" error. We can dlopen libb.so with no errors. We know that liba is finding libb because we don't get a file not found error. We get a file not found error when we delete libb.so. We tried -lutil and no luck. Any ideas???? oh yeah. gcc 4.1.2

  Have Ubuntu 11.10 with vsftpd installed and working. Can not get virtual users setup at all? Vsftpd will allow main Ubuntu owner account to login, but nothing else? I've followed several tutorials on adding virtual users, but nothing works? I just need to add 2 virtual users and have them be able to upload files to vsftpd Ubuntu computer from other computers on my Lan network. Everywhere I've looked, people just point toward tutorials on adding virtual users, but that just is NOT working. I've been struggling with this for over a week now! PLEASE Help. Thanks. I'll even give a donation if someone can figure this out. here is the vsftpd.conf file I am using. I copied the original, and make a new one, every time I try a tutorial. So far, none have worked.
