  • Show/hide rows with jquery

    - by Mike
    Hi I am using some modified code from another post. Basically I want to switch between showing 10 rows of a table to showing all rows (50 for example). I have got it to show from 10 rows to all, however what I need to do now is code it so that if I click the div again it toggles or resets back to showing 10 rows. <script type="text/javascript"> var numShown = 10; // Initial rows shown & index var numRows = $('tbody').find('tr').length; var numLeft = numRows - numShown; $(document).ready(function(){ // Hide rows and add clickable div $('tbody') .find('tr:gt(' + (numShown - 1) + ')').hide().end() $('#table_wrapper').after('<div id="more">Show all offers <span>(' + numLeft + ' more)</span></div>'); $('#more').click(function(){ numShown = numShown + numRows; // 7 + 1 = 8 $('tbody').find('tr:lt('+numShown+')').show(); $("#more").html("Show top 10 offers"); }) }) </script>

  • Submit form if ajax validator returns true using jquery

    - by Anthony
    I am not sure where I'm going wrong. The idea is that before the form is submitted, one of the input fields is sent to a server-side validator via ajax. If the response is 1, the input is valid and the form should be submitted. If the response is 0, the form should not be submitted. The issue is that I can't figure out how to set a variable within the ajax request function that will prevent the form from being submitted. This is what I have: $("#form").submit(function() { var valid= false; var input = $("#input").val(); $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "validator.php", data: "input=" + input, success: function(msg){ valid = (msg == 1) ? true : false; if(!valid) { $("#valid_input").html("Please enter valid info"); } else { $("#valid_input").html(""); } } }); return valid; });

    - by Syom

  • javascript, jQuery: how to save values instead of the references

    - by Patrick
    hi, I'm using the following lines to store the location of an object. var lightboxTop = $('#lightbox').css('top'); var lightboxLeft = $('#lightbox').css(' left'); I'm successively moving this object in my element, and I want to restore it previous position with the stored variables. But, I'm afraid javascript is saving the values by reference so I lose the initial positions. Am I correct ? How can I solve this ? thanks

In that case I don't want to show up that message. How can I detect the url within the onbeforeunload method? That way I can descide when to post the method! Thanks Markus

    I have a row in an html-table that contains only images. (this happens to be the first row too). Those images are wired for a click event too. While trying to handle the click event I can find out its parent (i.e. <td> element). But I want to know its relative ordinal in the table row (<tr).

  • JQuery: Hover to show/hide individual object

    - by noe ruiz
    Basically I need to hover over an anchor to display the "data-meta" div. Works just fine but when there's multiple td and divs, one hover displays all of them. My question is how can I show/hide them individually? Code snippets below. <td> <a href="#">Item</a> <div class="data-meta"> <a href="#">Edit</a> | <a href="#">Disable</a> | <a href="#">Delete</a> </div> $(document).ready(function(){ $("td").hover( function () { $('.data-meta').show(); }, function () { $('.data-meta').hide(); }); });

  • getting the names of elements in JS/jQuery

    - by Mala
    I have some checkbox inputs like so: <input type="checkbox" name="1" class="filter"/> <input type="checkbox" name="2" class="filter"/> ...etc... I'm trying to write a function where any time a checkbox is selected, it generates a string with all the names concatenated. Here's what I have so far: $('.filter').click(function(event){ var filters = $('.filter').toArray(); var fstr = ""; for (f in filters) { fstr = fstr+","+f.name; } alert(fstr); }); The names keep coming up as 'undefined', though (i.e. the alert returns ,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined). How do I access the names?

  • IE not showing jquery append() images

    - by Johannes Ruuska
    Ok, so i took John Raasch's slideshow script and modyfied it too dynamicly fetch images from folders on the server through ajax. The slideshow work like a charm in FF and Chrome but IE is not showing the images. And since IE's javascript debugging possibilities is close to none I cant figure out what is crashing. Javascript (indenting got messed up when pasting here but you get the code anyway): function slideSwitch() { var $active = $('#box_bildspel IMG.active'); if ( $active.length == 0 ) $active = $('#box_bildspel IMG:last'); var $next = $active.next().length ? $active.next() : $('#box_bildspel IMG:first'); $active.addClass('last-active'); $next.css({opacity: 0.0}) .addClass('active') .animate({opacity: 1.0}, 1000, function() { $active.removeClass('active last-active'); }); } $(document).ready(function(){ $.get('includes/bildspel.php?page='+page, function(r){ var file = r.split('!'); var path = 'pic/bildspel/'+page+'/'; var data = ''; if(file != null && file != ''){ $.each(file, function(key, value){ if(key == 0) { $('#box_bildspel').append('<img src="'+path+value+'" class="active"></img>'); //console.log(path+value); } else { $('#box_bildspel').append('<img src="'+path+value+'"></img>'); //console.log(path+value); } }); } if(file.length > 1){ $(function() { setInterval( "slideSwitch()", 4000 ); }); } }); }); PHP: <?php function getimgs($page) { $path = '../pic/bildspel/'.$page; $files = ''; if ($handle = opendir($path)) { while (false !== ($file = readdir($handle))) { if ($file !== '.' && $file !== '..') { $files .= $file.'!'; } } closedir($handle); echo substr_replace($files ,"",-1);; } } getimgs($_GET['page']); ?> Tested in IE 7 & 8 Any ideas? I have a deadline on this site for tomorrow (april 23) would appreciate VERY much if someone could figure this on out for me, thanks in advance!

  • jQuery: How do I rewrite .after( content, content )?

    - by Evan Carroll
    I've got this form working, but according to my previous question it might not be supported: it isn't in the docs either way -- but the intention is pretty obvious in the code. $(".section.warranty .warranty_checks :last").after( $('<div class="little check" />').click( function () { alert('hi') } ) , $('<span>OEM</span>') /*Notice this (a second) argument */ ); What this does is insert <div class="little check"> with a simple .click() callback, followed by a sibling of <span>OEM</span>. How else can I write this then? I'm having difficulty conjuring something working by chaining any combination of .after(), and .insertAfter()? I would expect this to work, but it doesn't: $(".section.warranty .warranty_checks :last").after( $('<div class="little check" />').click( function () { alert('hi') } ).after ( $('<span>OEM</span>') ) ); I would also expect this to work, but it doesn't: $(".section.warranty .warranty_checks :last").after( $('<span>OEM</span>').insertAfter( $('<div class="little check" />').click( function () { alert('hi') } ) ); );
