  • Javascript break breaks Firefox

    - by Maxime
    Hi, I'm working on this Javascript script that works nice in Safari and Chome but for some reason it doesn't work at all in Firefox. I identified the line that caused this: it's "break;". How do I fix this? playListConfig( index ); $("#jquery_jplayer").jPlayer("play"); song_num = myPlayList[index].song_id; if(!o[song_num]) { o[song_num] = 1;} $.get("http://www.ratemysong.net/includes/getnote.php?song_id="+song_num+"&s"+Math.random(), function(data){ if(data == "") { $('#rating ul li a').each(function() { $(this).attr('href', '#'); $(this).css("color","#FFF"); }); $('#rating ul li a').click(function(e) { ++o[song_num]; if(o[song_num]==2) { $(this).css({color:'#59B'}); var url = "http://www.ratemysong.net/boxes/voted.php?note="; url = url + $(this).attr('id'); $.get(url, function(data){ $('#basic-modal-content').html(data); $("#basic-modal-content").modal(); }); rating[song_num] = $(this).attr('id'); } else { $("#already_voted").modal(); } break; }); } else { $('#rating ul li a').each(function() { $(this).removeAttr('href'); $(this).css("color","#000"); var id_value = $(this).attr("id"); $(this).css("color","#FFF"); if(id_value == data) { $(this).css("color","#59B"); } }); } }); }

  • Why is my logic not working correctly for SPOJ TOPOSORT?

    - by Kavish Dwivedi
    The given problem is http://www.spoj.com/problems/TOPOSORT/ The output format is particularly important as : Print "Sandro fails." if Sandro cannot complete all his duties on the list. If there is a solution print the correct ordering, the jobs to be done separated by a whitespace. If there are multiple solutions print the one, whose first number is smallest, if there are still multiple solutions, print the one whose second number is smallest, and so on. What I am doing is simply doing dfs by reversing the edges i.e if job A finishes before job B, there is a directed edge from B to A . I am maintaining the order by sorting the adjacency list I created and storing the nodes which don't have any constraints separately so as to print them later in correct order . There are two flag arrays used , one for marking discovered node and one for marking the node whose all neighbors have been explored. Now my solution is http://www.ideone.com/QCUmKY (the important function is the visit funtion ) and its giving WA after running correct for 10 cases so its really hard to figure out where am I doing it wrong since it runs for all of the test cases which I have done by hand.

  • What is your solution to the FizzBuzz problem?

    - by saniul
    See here Write a program that prints the numbers from 1 to 100. But for multiples of three print "Fizz" instead of the number and for the multiples of five print "Buzz". For numbers which are multiples of both three and five print "FizzBuzz". Disclaimer: I do realize this is easy, and I understand the content of the Coding Horror post I just linked to

  • strange syntax error in python, version 2.6 and 3.1

    - by flow
    this may not be an earth-shattering deficiency of python, but i still wonder about the rationale behind the following behavior: when i run source = """ print( 'helo' ) if __name__ == '__main__': print( 'yeah!' ) #""" print( compile( source, '<whatever>', 'exec' ) ) i get :: File "<whatever>", line 6 # ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax i can avoid this exception by (1) deleting the trailing #; (2) deleting or outcommenting the if __name__ == '__main__':\n print( 'yeah!' ) lines; (3) add a newline to very end of the source. moreover, if i have the source end without a trailing newline right behind the print( 'yeah!' ), the source will also compile without error. i could also reproduce this behavior with python 2.6, so it’s not new to the 3k series. i find this error to be highly irritating, all the more since when i put above source inside a file and execute it directly or have it imported, no error will occur—which is the expected behavior. a # (hash) outside a string literal should always represent the start of a (possibly empty) comment in a python source; moreover, the presence or absence of a if __name__ == '__main__' clause should not change the interpretation of a soure on a syntactical level. can anyone reproduce the above problem, and/or comment on the phenomenon? cheers

  • Get list of Unique many-to-many records from a queryset

    - by rsp
    My models: class Order(models.Model): ordered_by = models.ForeignKey(User) reasons = models.ManyToManyField(Reason) class Reason(models.Model): description = models.CharField() Basically a user creates an order and gives reasons for that order. ie, john has two orders (one for pencils because he is out AND because he doesn't like his current stock. a second order for pens because he is out). I want to print a list out of all reasons a user has placed his orders. So under john, it should print "he is out", "he doesn't like his current stock"; those two lines only. If I simply select all of john's orders, iterate through them and print out their "reasons" it'll print "he is out", "he doesn't like his current stock" and then "he is out" again. I don't want these duplicate values. How do I select a list of his reasons for ALL his orders so that the list has all unique rows?

  • using Awk inside Perl script

  • Why doesn't Perl file glob() work outside of a loop in scalar context?

    - by Rob
    According to the Perl documentation on file globbing, the <*> operator or glob() function, when used in a scalar context, should iterate through the list of files matching the specified pattern, returning the next file name each time it is called or undef when there are no more files. But, the iterating process only seems to work from within a loop. If it isn't in a loop, then it seems to start over immediately before all values have been read. From the Perl docs: In scalar context, glob iterates through such filename expansions, returning undef when the list is exhausted. http://perldoc.perl.org/functions/glob.html However, in scalar context the operator returns the next value each time it's called, or undef when the list has run out. http://perldoc.perl.org/perlop.html#I/O-Operators Example code: use warnings; use strict; my $filename; # in scalar context, <*> should return the next file name # each time it is called or undef when the list has run out $filename = <*>; print "$filename\n"; $filename = <*>; # doesn't work as documented, starts over and print "$filename\n"; # always returns the same file name $filename = <*>; print "$filename\n"; print "\n"; print "$filename\n" while $filename = <*>; # works in a loop, returns next file # each time it is called In a directory with 3 files...file1.txt, file2.txt, and file3.txt, the above code will output: file1.txt file1.txt file1.txt file1.txt file2.txt file3.txt Note: The actual perl script should be outside the test directory, or you will see the file name of the script in the output as well. Am I doing something wrong here, or is this how it is supposed to work?

  • Coding in Other (Spoken) Languages

    - by contagious
    Something i've always wondered, and I can't find any mention of it anywhere online. When a shop from, say Japan, writes code, would I be able to read it in english? Or do languages, like C, php, anything, have Japanese translations that they write? I guess what i'm asking is does every single coder in the world know enough english to use the exact same reserved words I do? Would this code: If (i < size){ switch case 1: print "hi there" default: print "no, thank you" } else { print "yes, thank you" } display the exact same as I'm seeing it right now in english, or would some other non-english-speaking person see the words "if", "switch", "case", "default", "print", and "else" in their native language? EDIT - yes, this is serious. I didn't know if different localiztions of a language have different keywords. or if there are even different localizations at all.

  • How to build an offline web app using Flask?

    - by Rafael Alencar
    I'm prototyping an idea for a website that will use the HTML5 offline application cache for certain purposes. The website will be built with Python and Flask and that's where my main problem comes from: I'm working with those two for the first time, so I'm having a hard time getting the manifest file to work as expected. The issue is that I'm getting 404's from the static files included in the manifest file. The manifest itself seems to be downloaded correctly, but the files that it points to are not. This is what is spit out in the console when loading the page: Creating Application Cache with manifest http://127.0.0.1:5000/static/manifest.appcache offline-app:1 Application Cache Checking event offline-app:1 Application Cache Downloading event offline-app:1 Application Cache Progress event (0 of 2) http://127.0.0.1:5000/style.css offline-app:1 Application Cache Error event: Resource fetch failed (404) http://127.0.0.1:5000/style.css The error is in the last line. When the appcache fails even once, it stops the process completely and the offline cache doesn't work. This is how my files are structured: sandbox offline-app offline-app.py static manifest.appcache script.js style.css templates offline-app.html This is the content of offline-app.py: from flask import Flask, render_template app = Flask(__name__) @app.route('/offline-app') def offline_app(): return render_template('offline-app.html') if __name__ == '__main__': app.run(host='0.0.0.0', debug=True) This is what I have in offline-app.html: <!DOCTYPE html> <html manifest="{{ url_for('static', filename='manifest.appcache') }}"> <head> <title>Offline App Sandbox - main page</title> </head> <body> <h1>Welcome to the main page for the Offline App Sandbox!</h1> <p>Some placeholder text</p> </body> </html> This is my manifest.appcache file: CACHE MANIFEST /style.css /script.js I've tried having the manifest file in all different ways I could think of: CACHE MANIFEST /static/style.css /static/script.js or CACHE MANIFEST /offline-app/static/style.css /offline-app/static/script.js None of these worked. The same error was returned every time. I'm certain the issue here is how the server is serving up the files listed in the manifest. Those files are probably being looked up in the wrong place, I guess. I either should place them somewhere else or I need something different in the cache manifest, but I have no idea what. I couldn't find anything online about having HTML5 offline applications with Flask. Is anyone able to help me out?

  • Grunt usemin with templates

  • Python and csv help

    - by user353064
    I'm trying to create this script that will check the computer host name then search a master list for the value to return a corresponding value in the csv file. Then open another file and do a find an replace. I know this should be easy but haven't done so much in python before. Here is what I have so far... masterlist.txt (tab delimited) Name UID Bob-Smith.local bobs Carmen-Jackson.local carmenj David-Kathman.local davidk Jenn-Roberts.local jennr Here is the script that I have created thus far #GET CLIENT HOST NAME import socket host = socket.gethostname() print host #IMPORT MASTER DATA import csv, sys filename = "masterlist.txt" reader = csv.reader(open(filename, "rU")) #PRINT MASTER DATA for row in reader: print row #SEARCH ON HOSTNAME AND RETURN UID #REPLACE VALUE IN FILE WITH UID #import fileinput #for line in fileinput.FileInput("filetoreplace",inplace=1): # line = line.replace("replacethistext","UID") # print line Right now, it's just set to print the master list. I'm not sure if the list needs to be parsed and placed into a dictionary or what. I really need to figure out how to search the first field for the hostname and then return the field in the second column. Thanks in advance for your help, Aaron

  • Extracting specific nodes from XML using XML::Twig

    - by pratz
    i was trying to extract a particular set of nodes from the following XML structure using XML::Twig, but have been stuck ever since. I need to extract the 'player' nodes from the following structure and do a string match/replace on each of these node values. <pep:record> <agency> <subrecord type="scout"> <isnum>123XXX (print)</isnum> <isnum>234YYY (mag)</isnum> </subrecord> <subrecord type="group"> </subrecord> </agency </record> I tried using the following code, but I get pointed to a hash reference rather than actual string. my $parser = XML::Twig->new(twig_handlers => { isnum => sub { print $_->text."::" }, }); foreach my $rec (split(/::/, $parser->parse($my_xml))) { if ($rec =~ m/print/) { ($print = $rec) =~ s/( \(print\))//; } elsif($rec =~ m/mag/) { ($mag = $rec) =~ s/( \(mag\))//; } }

  • Java method overloading + double dispatch

    Can anybody explain in detail the reason the overloaded method print(Parent parent) is invoked when working with Child instance in my test piece of code? • PyYAML parse into arbitary object

I would like to the following: print x.features(0).size I am aware that it is possible to create and instance from an existent class, but that is not what I want for this particular scenario.

When this one runs: (r"^mybjects/(([a-z]|[A-Z]|[0-9])+)$","views.myobjects.loadobject"), All the css and JS files that are being fetched, are run trough the urlpatterns and are returning my defailt page: (r"", 'views.main.index'), This makes all my CSS and JS code to actualy be HTML. My guess is that i'm giving some noob mistake. Is there any common reason why this should happen? And how to fix it?

  • PERL newbie : get a proper minimal debug_mode solution

    - by Michael Mao
    Hi all: I am learning PERL in a "head-first" manner. I am absolutely a newbie in this language: I am trying to have a debug_mode switch from CLI which can be used to control how my script works, by switching certain subroutines "on and off". And below is what I've got so far: #!/usr/bin/perl -s -w # purpose : make subroutine execution optional, # which is depending on a CLI switch flag use strict; use warnings; use constant DEBUG_VERBOSE => "v"; use constant DEBUG_SUPPRESS_ERROR_MSGS => "s"; use constant DEBUG_IGNORE_VALIDATION => "i"; use constant DEBUG_SETPPING_COMPUTATION => "c"; our ($debug_mode); mainMethod(); sub mainMethod # () { if(!$debug_mode) { print "debug_mode is OFF\n"; } elsif($debug_mode) { print "debug_mode is ON\n"; } else { print "OMG!\n"; exit -1; } checkArgv(); printErrorMsg("Error_Code_123", "Parsing Error at..."); verbose(); } sub checkArgv #() { print ("Number of ARGV : ".(1 + $#ARGV)."\n"); } sub printErrorMsg # ($error_code, $error_msg, ..) { if(defined($debug_mode) && !($debug_mode =~ DEBUG_SUPPRESS_ERROR_MSGS)) { print "You can only see me if -debug_mode is NOT set". " to DEBUG_SUPPRESS_ERROR_MSGS\n"; die("terminated prematurely...\n") and exit -1; } } sub verbose # () { if(defined($debug_mode) && ($debug_mode =~ DEBUG_VERBOSE)) { print "Blah blah blah...\n"; } } So far as I can tell, at least it works...: the -debug_mode switch doesn't interfere with normal ARGV the following commandlines work: ./optional.pl ./optional.pl -debug_mode ./optional.pl -debug_mode=v ./optional.pl -debug_mode=s However, I am puzzled when multiple debug_modes are "mixed", such as: ./optional.pl -debug_mode=sv ./optional.pl -debug_mode=vs I don't understand why the above lines of code "magically works". I see both of the "DEBUG_VERBOS" and "DEBUG_SUPPRESS_ERROR_MSGS" apply to the script, which is fine in this case. However, if there are some "conflicting" debug modes, I am not sure how to set the "precedence of debue_modes"? Also, I am not certain if my approach is good enough to Perlists and I hope I am getting my feet in the right direction. One biggest problem is that I now put if statements inside most of my subroutines for controlling their behavior under different modes. Is this okay? Is there a more elegant way? I know there must be a debug module from CPAN or elsewhere, but I wanna a real minimal solution that doesn't depend on any other module than the "default" And I cannot have any control on the environment where this script will be executed... Many thanks to the suggestions in advance.

  • python socket.recv/sendall call blocking

    - by fsm
    Hi everyone. This post is incorrectly tagged 'send' since I cannot create new tags. I have a very basic question about this simple echo server. Here are some code snippets. client while True: data = raw_input("Enter data: ") mySock.sendall(data) echoedData = mySock.recv(1024) if not echoedData: break print echoedData server while True: print "Waiting for connection" (clientSock, address) = serverSock.accept() print "Entering read loop" while True: print "Waiting for data" data = clientSock.recv(1024) if not data: break clientSock.send(data) clientSock.close() Now this works alright, except when the client sends an empty string (by hitting the return key in response to "enter data: "), in which case I see some deadlock-ish behavior. Now, what exactly happens when the user presses return on the client side? I can only imagine that the sendall call blocks waiting for some data to be added to the send buffer, causing the recv call to block in turn. What's going on here? Thanks for reading!

  • How do I set the bake command to use a different template in cakephp

    - by Gaurav Sharma
    Hi all, I wanted bake command to bake a view of my liking. So I searched bakery and found this Modify-default-HTML-produced-by-baked-templates. But after reading this I was not able to modify the template because I wanted to define some CSS in it and those files are not containing any CSS code (they contain only php code inside them). Also if I have designed my own CSS file for the new template then how do I tell bake command to pick that specified css file for new template ? I am totally confused over here. Has anybody done this similar kinda work using cakePHP. Any help would be greatly appreciable. NOTE: I am using cakePHP v 1.3 latest stable release. Thanks

  • Internet Explorer ajax request not returning anything

    At the end of my registration process you get to a payment screen where you can enter a coupon code, and there is an AJAX call which fetches the coupon from the database and returns it to the page so it can be applied to your total before it is submitted to paypal. It works great in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, but in Internet Explorer, nothing happens. The (data) being returned to the jQuery function appears to be null. jQuery Post function applyPromo() { var enteredCode = $("#promoCode").val(); $(".promoDiscountContainer").css("display", "block"); $(".promoDiscount").html("<img src='/images/loading.gif' alt='Loading...' title='Loading...' height='18' width='18' />"); $.post("/ajax/lookup-promo.php", { promoCode : enteredCode }, function(data){ if ( data != "error" ) { var promoType = data.getElementsByTagName('promoType').item(0).childNodes.item(0).data; var promoAmount = data.getElementsByTagName('promoAmount').item(0).childNodes.item(0).data; $(".promoDiscountContainer").css("display", "block"); $(".totalWithPromoContainer").css("display", "block"); if (promoType == "percent") { $("#promoDiscount").html("-" + promoAmount + "%"); var newPrice = (originalPrice - (originalPrice * (promoAmount / 100))); $("#totalWithPromo").html(" $" + newPrice); if ( promoAmount == 100 ) { skipPayment(); } } else { $("#promoDiscount").html("-$" + promoAmount); var newPrice = originalPrice - promoAmount; $("#totalWithPromo").html(" $" + newPrice); } $("#paypalPrice").val(newPrice + ".00"); $("#promoConfirm").css("display", "none"); $("#promoConfirm").html("Promotion Found"); finalPrice = newPrice; } else { $(".promoDiscountContainer").css("display", "none"); $(".totalWithPromoContainer").css("display", "none"); $("#promoDiscount").html(""); $("#totalWithPromo").html(""); $("#paypalPrice").val(originalPrice + ".00"); $("#promoConfirm").css("display", "block"); $("#promoConfirm").html("Promotion Not Found"); finalPrice = originalPrice; } }, "xml"); } Corresponding PHP Page include '../includes/dbConn.php'; $enteredCode = $_POST['promoCode']; $result = mysql_query( "SELECT * FROM promotion WHERE promo_code = '" . $enteredCode . "' LIMIT 1"); $currPromo = mysql_fetch_array( $result ); if ( $currPromo ) { if ( $currPromo['percent_off'] != "" ) { header("content-type:application/xml;charset=utf-8"); echo "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" standalone=\"yes\"?>"; echo "<promo>"; echo "<promoType>percent</promoType>"; echo "<promoAmount>" . $currPromo['percent_off'] . "</promoAmount>"; echo "</promo>"; } else if ( $currPromo['fixed_off'] != "") { header("content-type:application/xml;charset=utf-8"); echo "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" standalone=\"yes\"?>"; echo "<promo>"; echo "<promoType>fixed</promoType>"; echo "<promoAmount>" . $currPromo['fixed_off'] . "</promoAmount>"; echo "</promo>"; } } else { echo "error"; } When I run the code in IE, I get a javascript error on the Javascript line that says var promoType = data.getElementsByTagName('promoType').item(0).childNodes.item(0).data; Here's a screenshot of the IE debugger
