  SELECT * from MainCategory where Month = 'May' and Day in ((cast(strftime('%d',date('now','-1 day')) as Integer)),(cast(strftime('%d',date('now')) as Integer)),(cast(strftime('%d',date('now','+1 day')) as Integer))); Whenever I run this query in sqlite so it returns me 33 records instead of 3. I am insterested in fetching on 3 records of the current month but unable to do so, so plz assist. --Please note: if you can't assist so plz don't post irrelevant answer. • Calling finish() After Starting a New Activity

  The first Activity that loads in my application is an initialization activity, and once complete it loads a new Activity. I want to ensure if the user presses 'Back' they go straight to the Launcher, and not the initialization screen. Side note, is this even the best approach, or would this be better done with some kind of Intent Flag? Is it correct to call finish() after calling startActivity() on the new activity? onCreate() { ... startActivity(new Intent(this, NextActivity.class)); finish(); ... } I'm still taking in the whole 'Message Queue' method of doing things in Android, and my assumption is that calling startActivity() and then finish() from my first Activity's onCreate() will log each respective message in the message queue, but finish execution of onCreate() before moving on to starting the next Activity and finishing my first one. Is this a correct understanding?

• Testing a SQL Query for True or False

  $sql = "SELECT # FROM users WHERE onduty = 1 AND loc_id = '{$site}';"; $result = mysql_query($sql); I simply want to test if this is true or false. If it returns 0 rows, I want next line to be something like: if (!$result) { //do this; } However, in my test, I am getting false when I know it should be true. Is this sound logic here? (note, yes I know I should be using mysqli_query, that is not what I am asking here)

• CouchDB emit with lookup key that is array, such that order of array elements are ignored.

  When indexing a couchdb view, you can emit an array as the key such as: emit(["one", "two", "three"], doc); I appreciate the fact that when searching the view, the order is important, but sometimes I would like the view to ignore it. I have thought of a couple of options. 1. By convention, just emit the contents in alphabetical order, and ensure that looking up uses the same convention. 2. Somehow hash in a manner that disregards the order, and emit/search based on that hash. (This is fairly easy, if you simply hash each one individually, "sum" the hashes, then mod.) Note: I'm sure this may be covered somewhere in the authoritative guide, but I was unsuccessful in finding it.

  Look at your Gmail inbox. You have 3 main columns contains the Sender contains "THE_EMAIL_SUBJECT - THE_EMAIL_BODY" the date the email was sent on I note that when you resize the window, the Gmail web client automatically resizes the displayed text in the second column. It basically just truncates the text so that it always can display the sent on date to the right, and the sender to the left. It is a pretty neat effect, and I would like to have that effect for myself. Does anyone know how to do this in HTML/CSS/JS?

• Alternative to css3 not selector

  Are there any alternatives to the :not css3 selector that are compliant with IE8 (and quirks mode). Either in css or javascript/jquery that emulates the selector or something similar. I am using *:not as follows below. Feel free to recommend a solution that avoids the use of :not completely. @media screen { #printable { visibility: hidden; } } @media print { *:not(#printable) { visibility: hidden; } #printable { position: absolute; visibility: visible; } } Note that the use of :not is tied to the use of @media print so just using a simple jQuery solution to apply css to $(":not(#printable)") won't work without being clever.   I am currently using RedBean version 3.5. I think I would like to move to the latest version of RedBean, version 4. I have found no documentation about upgrade process and have a number of significant questions: Is my RedBean 3.5 database schema compatible 4, or will up have to migrate all of the tables to some new format? Is any of my RedBean 3.5 code compatible with version 4, or wouldI need to rewrite all of my code that uses RedBean 3.5? Would it make more sense to upgrade to Doctrine? As a side note, I am also feeling concerned about RedBean's drop of support for Composer, which I have found to be über helpful in managing the various versions of libraries I am using.

• using i18n characters in url of image tag does not display the image

  I am using the image tag as the path /data/image/image.txt does exists. and it displays the image also. but when i introduce some i18n characters in the path lets say it says 404 error image not found, but the path /data/image??/image.txt does exists, please help me to find the solution for this? I used the firebug also to see whether the characters are decoded properly or not, in firebug I am able to see the correct characters they are not changed, still it is not able to pick the image. thanks a lot in advance. Note: I am using tag because it was not allowing me to write the img tab in the post, and i have changed the jif ext to txt. please consider this.

• How can I modify the application file of an application that is currently running (on Linux)?

  I have an application running called AppFS. This application has an ext2 filesystem just attached to the end of the file (it's positioned so that the application binary exists in a 1MB spacing area, followed by the ext2 data). Now I've got FUSE embedded in the program and I've managed to extract the filesystem out of the application data into a temporary file so that FUSE can mount / use it. The problem I have now is writing the temporary file back into the application file. I get "Text file busy" presumably because the application has locked itself and won't let writes occur. Is there a way I can force the file to become unlocked so I can write data to it? (It's important to note that I'm not changing the application binary area - just rewriting the ext2 component.) It needs to be unlocked without requiring root permissions (unlocked by the same user who started the application).

  I have a UI question that troubled me on the best method to handle 4 decimal places for prices. In an table already cramped full of data, I would want to simplified the interface to make it not so cluttered. The actual current UI is shown below. http://i41.tinypic.com/bg5tub.jpg The problem is, for a unit price/units/D.Price and Dis.(Discount) to have 4 decimal places ($0.3459) is quite rare but it still happens (5 in 100 entries). This will result a lot of junk decimal places, cluttering up the interface. What is the best solution to this problem? In short, I want to declutter it yet maintain the precision. • Implicit type conversion in DB/2 inserts?

  We're using SQL Inserts to insert some data via a script into DB/2 tables, e.g. CREATE TABLE TICKETS (TICKETID VARCHAR(10) NOT NULL); On my home installation, this statement works fine (note that I'm using an integer which is autoatically cast into a VarChar): INSERT INTO TICKETS (TICKETID) VALUES (1); while at my customer's site I get a type error. My question(s): Is this behavior version dependent? (I use a DB2 Express V9.7, while the customer has an Enterprise V9.5) Is there a config option to change the behavior? (I would like my home install to behave as close as possible as the production environment is going to be.)

• Updating Versioned .NET Assembly References

  I have a C++/CLI project that needs to reference a .NET assembly. I've done so by going into the project properties and clicking "Add New Reference", and browsing to the assembly location (it's not part of the solution, so I cannot create a project-to-project reference, and the .NET assembly is not in the GAC so it isn't in the .NET tab when viewing the references to add) When the .NET assembly is updated (that is, since it is versioned, it will increment its version number daily), the C++/CLI project fails to compile because it is still referencing the older version. The workaround I've been doing is deleting the .NET reference and adding it back in, but this is not feasible. How do I have it recognize the newer assembly?? Note: The older assembly is replaced with the newer one, so it is in the same location, but doesn't know that it should use the newer version.

  I'm having a problem where one Dictionary in my project is either not serializing or not deserializing. After deserializing, the data I serialized is simply not in the object. • WPF/C# - Sometimes my dropdowns/datepickers will stop functioning?

  Q: Where should I check to track this down? Issue: Opening a view model in my application sometimes makes dropdowns/datepickers nonfunctional. ie. dropdown won't drop and the datepicker calendar won't come up I suspect a binding issue but don't see one. Dropdowns have normal things like strings, numbers. One drop has a list of mini views. Datepickers are bound to nullable dates set in the constructor of the viewmodel. Note: These same things work in other viewmodels/views. I can paste code, I'm just not sure what code is relevant here. Thank you for helping me :)

  I need to take the following query and pull the total order counts and sum of the orders grouped by day. I'm storing everything using timestamps. SELECT COUNT(id) as order_count, SUM(price + shipping_price) as order_sum, DAY(FROM_UNIXTIME(created)) as day FROM `order` WHERE '.implode(' AND ', $where).' I need to group by DAY but when I do for this past weekend's sales it takes my order_count and makes it 1 instead of 3. How can I pull the above values grouped by day? • case sensititivity with users controller on certain hosting

  We generally use two different hosting services. On one, everything works ticketyboo, as it does on my local dev servers. On the other server, however, I am having this problem: I can't access the users controller like this: http://www.example.com/users/login But I can like this: http://www.example.com/Users/login ** note the capitalised 'Users' ** If I displace the application to a sub-folder everything works fine (both upper- and lowercase). The hosting company have looked at it and can't see a problem at their end and they assure me that users is not a reserved word. You might say this isn't a problem, just use the version that works. Unfortunately it leads to problems downstream where Cake core starts generating urls itself. Anybody else seen this problem or know the solution? [This only occurs on the users controller - all others work as expected]
