  • Adding custom perfomance counters in ASP.Net for service calls

    Hi All, I have to show the time taken for a service call in Perfmon from my ASP.Net application. For this, I have added a stopwatch which starts at the service call start and stops at service call stop. Now I have a custom counter which user AverageTimer32 to log the stopwatch values to Perfmon. My question is, how can I show the service names on the Perfmon graph. I am using windows XP (I know windows server perfmon has some fancy stuff).

  • Navigate to a SplitViewController

    Hey all... I've been playing around with the iPad SDK looking for ways to improve my current iPhone app. I've got a couple place where I think the new "SplitView" would look pretty good. My question is if it's possible to navigate to a "SplitView" with my current navigation based application? Mainly I'm not sure how to push that SplitViewController onto my current stack of views. Any thoughts?

How to make sure that the application is not tampered with, and how to make sure that the registration mechanism can't be reverse engineered. Also it is possible to make to convert C# app in native code, Xenocode is too costly. C# provides lot of features, and is the ideal language for my code, so writing in C++ again the whole codebase is out of question. Secure certificates can be easily removed from the signed assemblies in .NET

    This is quick confirmation question: In order to make partial classes work, I initially thought that there would be a main Class public class ManageDates and then you would create partial classes like public partial class ManageDates to extend the ManageDates class. But from some experiementing, I've come to find out that if you're going to use partial classes, each individual class must be declared public partial class [ClassName] ... Am I correct in this conclusion?

  • Is it possible for double-escaping to cause harm to the DB?

    If I accidentally double escape a string, can the DB be harmed? For the purposes of this question, let's say I'm not using parametrized queries For example, let's say I get the following input: bob's bike And I escape that: bob\'s bike But my code is horrible, and escapes it again: bob\\\'s bike Now, if I insert that into a DB, the value in the DB will be bob\'s bike Which, while is not what I want, won't harm the DB. Is it possible for any input that's double escaped to do something malicious to the DB assuming that I take all other necessary security precautions?

I am trying to use a COM api which uses ADODB.Recordset and some how I am not able select the right version of ADODB in VS(2010) it asks for 2.8.0.0 and I add 2.8 from the reference dialog.   • Google Analytic Metric to use for off-site banner click comparison

    I have all my off-site banner ads correctly campaign tracked/tagged but I want to know what metrics I should be looking at in the GA for the closest comparison to the ad servers clicks. I am pretty sure it wouldn't be Visits but I also see there is PageViews and UniquePageViews. My GA data is coming in way off from what the ad server manager people are telling my clicks are for said banners on their site. My other question is what type of percentage are other people seeing there data being off?

    Is it possible to specify a relative connection string for an AzMan XML store? My current connection string is connectionString="msxml://c:/azman.xml" but I really need to make that relative so other developers and automated builds can get the latest authorization store. MS documentation seems to suggest that connectionString="msxml://azman.xml" should work but that throws a The request is not supported error. EDIT: I realised that the fact I'm using AzMan through the Enterprise Library Security Application Block was important to the question.

    I am trying to add in a new driver to our system running under Tomcat. The vendor has provided a JPos driver, my question is where to put the jpos.xml file so Tomcat can find it?     I have a couple of concerns, I'm busy building a normal .mobi site for a client, so basically how I understand this is keep it simply since most phones do not support JavaScript and have a small screen etc. So I build a mobi site using only content and basic links. Now my question is how do mobi widgets work on a mobile site? I've googled and could not find a answer? Is this possible at all?
