Is there any way to set a fixed/custom height for ligtbox2?
#lightbox img{ width: auto; height: 600px;}
This only resizes the img and not the outer container.
If you look at the screenshot below you can see that the right menu box in red has the wrong position in IE6 and 7:
<div id="doc4" class="yui-t2"> //yui-t2 = 180px on the left
<div id="bd">
<div id="yui-main">
<div class="yui-b">
<div class="yui-gc"> // yui-gc 2/3, 1/3
<div class="yui-u first">content</div> // 2/3
<div class="yui-u">right menu</div> // 1/3
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="yui-b">left menu</div> // 180px
</div>
<div id="ft">footer</div>
</div>
Anyone know how I can fix this problem?

I've written a chrome extension to find text on a page based on a regex query. When text is matched, I wrap the matched text in a <span> tag that has the class highlight where highlight only changes the background color to yellow.
The issue is that sometimes there are already styles applied to <span> tags in a webpage. For example, the webpage might have this defined:
span {
font-size: 200%;
}
So when I insert my <span> tag in another <span> tag, the font-size is actually 400%.
Is there an easy way for my code to just change certain properties of the text, like the background color, without applying the webpage's styles twice?
I'll try to explain this as best I can. I have multiple divs that are fixed-width but variable height. I want to float these boxes into two columns inside a fixed-width container. What happens when a give them all a float: left value, I get something like this:
######### #########
# box 1 # # box 2 #
######### # ..... #
......... # ..... #
......... #########
######### #########
# box 3 # # box 4 #
# ..... # # ..... #
######### #########
######### #########
# box 5 # # box 6 #
# ..... # #########
# ..... #
#########
(The periods are white space)
What I really would really like is the top of box 3 to touch the bottom of box 1. Any easy way to acheive this?
We are writing an ASP.NET MVC application. By default, if the client browser has Javascript, the handler for every form on the page is set, by Javascript, to be one that sends the submission down an Ajax "pipe" (progressive enhancement).
But, for one form (on a page of several), I'd like this handler to be bypassed/ignored. Is there a simple way to do this? Perhaps by overriding the handler by specifying my own onsubmit event directly in the DOM - or some other method?
We use jQuery, so those libraries are available to me.
Hello,
I am having issues correcting an encoding type issue on a site. Unfortunately the site is non work safe (gay porn).
For the brave: http://www.alphamalemedia.com/index/news
Ive tried setting the meta content from utf8 to iso-8859-1.
Ive switched tables over to utf8 from latin1_swedish_ci but no luck.
I have the below text field in my page:
<input class="message" id="message" name="message" type="text" size="65" />
For some reason in the latest FireFox for OS X it is about 200pixels wider than it is in the latest Chrome (mac/pc) FireFox(pc) and IE(pc)
Any suggestions on how I can fix this or why this is happening?
Hi all,
see 'http://ballpointradio.com/new/index.php', how do I get the footer (the Lorum Ipsum) to go below the lowest content, rather than moulding around it?
Thanks!
I have a textarea that I would like to send a value to and I am using the following to achieve this..
<textarea style="width: 300px; height: 150px;" name="message"></textarea>
<a href="#updates" onclick="document.sendform.message.value='7'; return true;"style="color:white">Year 7</a>
This is working as expected however it also overwrites any text that is in the textarea already, is there any way I can achieve this without over writing the existing text in the textarea?
Thanks
Sounds dummy but I can't set to a server-side control's property a value contains quote marks ":
<asp:CompareValidator ErrorMessage="Curreny-from can't be equal to currency-to" runat="server" />
I need to quote "from" and "to".
I tried escaping \"from\" and double quote marks ""from"" - both doesn't work. How to do that?
Hi,
I'm using Doctrine NestedSet behavior. I'd like to render the tree using php to <ul>'s and <li>'s
Here's an example of what the output might be:
<ul>
<li>Node 1</li>
<li>Node 2
<ul>
<li>Child 1 of Node 2</li>
<li>Child 2 of Node 2
<ul>
<li>Another Child</li>
<li>Yet Another Child</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Node 3</li>
</ul>
What is the best way to do this?
Hello!
Please take a look here: http://www.binarymark.com/Products/FLVDownloader/order.aspx
What I am trying to do is to get rid of the prices inside the option tag. On that page you can see a drop-down box under Order Information, Product. I want to remove the prices from all the options that contain them in that box, so get rid of " - $75.98" for example. I am not used to JQuery, but I realize it would be possible - just not sure how to do it, so your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
George
I know that it isn't possible to set the value of an input type="file" for security reasons...
My problem is:
I needed to style an input type="file" so what I did was have a button and hide the file input. like:
<a href="#" onclick="$('input[name="photo1"]').click(); return false;" id="photo1-link"></a>
<input type="file" name="photo1" class="fileInput jqtranformdone validate[required]" id="photo1" />
These works great in all browsers except IE which gives me an access denied error on submitting through ajax.
I'm using the ajaxSubmit jquery plugin (malsup.com/jquery/form/)
So after reading for a while I tried to do:
var photo1Val = $('#photo1').val();
var clone1 = $('#photo1').clone().val(photo1Val);
$('#photo1').remove();
clone1.appendTo('form');
console.log(photo1Val) //prints the right value C:/fakepath/blablabla.jpg
$('form').ajaxSubmit(options);
The problem is that after this the value of $('#photo1') is empty... Any ideas how to work around this?
Thanks
I'm trying to link my 3rd party shopping cart to PayPal, and in the process I'm finding that my variables are extremely exposed, such that, if someone uses, say, Firebug, to manipulate the values of my variables, they can change the cost of the items in the transaction.
I'm very new to online carts and shopping, so my question is how do I keep this layer of exposure away from users and secure for the website?
I have a downloader program that download pages from internet .
the encoding of each page is different , some are in UTF-8 and some are Unicode.
For example : a that shows 'a' character ; pages full of this characters .We should convert this encodings to normal text .
I used the UnicodeEncoding class in c# , but they do not help me .
How can i decode this encodings to real characters? Is there a class or method that converting this ?
Thanks .
Hey guys,
the scenario is this: see select below
<form name="limit">
<select name="limiter" onChange="limit(this.value)">
<option selected="selected"> </option>
<option value="5">5</option>
<option value="10">10</option>
<option value="15">15</option>
</select>
</form>
I want whenever any option is selected for 3 things to happen:
1.) js limit() function is called which all it does its takes current url, adds new query parameter 'limit' with the user selected value eg:
http://localhost/blahblah/apps/category.php?pg=1&catId=3021&limit=5
(this will cause the category.php page to be hit and # of product displayed limited to the value selected by user)
2.)Once the url is hit, it reloads but i DONT want the value selected to reset back to the default (which it currently does). I want it to reflect the users selection after page reload.
3.) Also, when i move to the next page (pagination), i would like the state to be carried ova to the next page (ie. remembering the user selection).
I have created a custom PhpBB3 style and desperately since a few hours tried to add a background image to a specific comment text area.
With firebug I checked if the comment text area had a class and it does, so I tried some css variations and finally tried:
sn-inputComment {
background: url("{T_THEME_PATH}/images/pencil.png") repeat-x left top #FFFFFF;}
{
I also tried to find and manipulate the php generated text area but no success. Non of my methods worked. I will provide you all with a tinylink url to my forum with a test user and password access.
User: test
Password: 123456
url: http://tinyurl.com/9yqpxdb
Now when you are logged in you should be redirected to the correct url and you will see a a few text boxes with "Write a comment...". I would be very happy if you could tell me what I did wrong, why im not able to add a background to the text input without having my search boxes and "what is on your mind box" affected.
I appreciate your time and hope that this can be somehow solved.
Sincerely,
Daniel
Hi friends,
i would like to retrive the value from post method..

Dear experts, I was trying to align an paragraph to the middle of an division element via CSS and I somehow can't get it to work.
<style type="text/css">
.wrap{
background:red;
height: 5em;
}
p{
background:blue;
height: 2em;
vertical-align:middle;
}
</style>
<div class="wrap">
<p>
ALIGN TEXT
</p>
</div>
It doesn't work in IE nor firefox,
On my site: http://alsite.com.br/solalev/ I have some elements on the bottom of page that I can't click through. Above the elements is a div called push.. I use this div to make the footer always stay on the bottom of my page even when the content is smaller... (I dont know if I do this right.. but it has worked)..
So.. on Chrome and Firefox I can't click.. but on IE this works....
I use this:
.push{
pointer-events: none;
}
but nothing happens...
So a Regex pro I am not, and I'm looking for a good way to do this. I have a large string which contains a variable number <img> tags. I need to change the path on all of these images to images/. The large string also contains other stuff not just these img's.
<img src='http://server.com/stuff1/img1.jpg' />
<img src='http://server.com/stuff2/img2.png' />
Replacing the server name with a ReplaceAll() I could do, it's the variable path in the middle I'm clueless on how to include. It doesn't necessarily need to be a regex, but looping through the entire string just seems wasteful.
Guys, Ive been using jquery to do this, but now I need to do it with Prototype and Im little confused due lack of documentation
I have 2 lists of check boxes
First List:
Check box 1
Check box 2
Second list:
Check box x
check box y
check box z
I need the JS code, using prototype to work like this: Second list, remains disabled unless I check one of the checkboxes of the First List.
Any suggestions, or help, please!
Thankyou.
I have event data displaying on a map and I am currently using the geo microformat alongside it however it's not particularly rich to have just a list of locations without any details of what they correspond to.
I've been looking at combining microformats to achieve this and looking for some thoughts on the subject
here is the data i am marking up:
event title, event location [latlong], event address, contact phone, link to full details
My initial thoughts are to use an hCard along with geo? Is there anything better?
Thanks in advance
