    My site was working fine with PayPal's sandbox, and then all of a sudden it stopped.     I have a string called word and a function called infinitive such that word.infinitive would return another string on some occasions and an empty string otherwise I am trying to find an elegant ruby one line expression for the code-snippet below if word.infinitive == "" return word else return word.infinitive Had infinitive returned nil instead of "", I could have done something like (word.infinitive or word) But since it does not, I can't take advantage of the short-circuit OR Ideally I would want 1) a single expression that I could easily embed in other code 2) the function infinitive being called only once 3) to not add any custom gems or plugins into my code

  • How to catch an exception and email information about it in liferay portlet

    I have a custom portlet made for liferay and sometimes it throws an exception. Why it throws exceptions is irrelevant. How to catch exceptions thrown by portlet handler methods in order to email information about them? I know I could do try catching on every handler method but it would be a much more elegant and cleaner solution to catch the exception on a higher level and just email some information about the error. I'm using Spring Portlet MVC, so i got all spring-related niceties at hand.

  • Java: Is there a way to obtain the bytecode for a class at runtime?

    In Java, is there a way (at runtime) to obtain the bytecode which defined a particular class? Put another way, is there a way to obtain the byte[] array passed to ClassLoader.defineClass(String name, byte[] b, int off, int len) when a particular class was loaded? I see that this method is declared final, so creating a custom ClassLoader to intercept class definitions seems out of the question. In the past, I have used the class's ClassLoader to obtain the bytecode via the getResourceAsStream(String) method, but I would prefer a more canonical solution.

    Hey all, what would be best practice for clipping the bottom borders of a Bitmap? Just manipulate the Bitmap itself or overlay an alpha mask drawable or ...? The whole story: I've a Listview which looks like the iPhone's grouped UITableView style. I would like to display a Bitmap in the last row, but for now the Bitmap overlaps my custom background drawable of the Listview cell. Thx in advance!

Example: CODES_TRANS ID | VALUE_TRANS 10 | A 10 | B 10 | C 11 | A 11 | B What is the best way to do it in PL/SQL without usage of custom pl/sql packages, ideally with pure SQL? Obvious solution is to implement it via cursors. Any ideas?

    We have common library projects shared amongst many projects that are required to be checked out into a "Libraries" folder which a developer needs to checkout prior to opening the main project in visual studio. How I tell hudson that there is this dependency? I figured one thing I could do is setup a custom workspace and specify the location for all projects, but how do I wire up the dependency between them all? Is simply specifying "Build after other projects are built" enough?

    I want to make 10 asynchronous http requests at once and only process the results when all have completed and in a single callback function. I also do not want to block any threads using WaitAll (it is my understanding that WaitAll blocks until all are complete). I think I want to make a custom IAsyncResult which will handle multiple calls. Am I on the right track? Are there any good resources or examples out there that describe handling this?

After some searching, only GeoServer (and the underlying GeoTools library) seems to fit.     If i hover over the thin vertical bar on the left, it highlights the entire scope of the block that's to the right. When this scope is large, my entire screen flashes white (a consequence of my custom color scheme). Is there a way to change that color? i don't recall there being one when i made the theme.
