I would like to have a combobox that allows selection from a list of values and also allow a custom value from the typed in text. The question is at what point (and how) is it best to create a new custom item that can be set to the SelectedColorLevel when the typed text doesn't match an item. For example I would want to assign a new item to the selected value such as new ColorLevel { Intensity = decimal.Parse(textvalue), IsCustom = true } or using an appropriate converter and databinding to the Text property.

Is there a way to automaticly call all versions of an inherited method?

I'm writing a plug-in for a 3D modeling program. I have a custom class that wraps instances of elements in the 3D model, and in turn derives it's properties from the element it wraps. When the element in the model changes I want my class(es) to update their properties based on the new geometry. In the simplified example below. I have classes AbsCurveBasd, Extrusion, and Shell which are all derived from one another. Each of these classes implement a RefreshFromBaseShape() method which updates specific properties based on the current baseShape the class is wrapping. I can call base.RefreshFromBaseShape() in each implementation of RefreshFromBaseShape() to ensure that all the properties are updated. But I'm wondering if there is a better way where I don't have to remember to do this in every implementation of RefershFromBaseShape()? I want to run a diagnostic report on our MS SQL 2008 database server. I am looping through all of the databases, and then for each database, I want to look at each table. But, when I go to look at each table (with tbl_cursor), it always picks up the tables in the database 'master'. I am using Datanucleus JDO on top of HSqlDb. I would like to execute the following SQL statement to tell HsqlDb to set the write delay to 0: "SET WRITE_DELAY 0" Is there a way I can do this from a JDO PersistenceManager or a PersistenceManagerFactory? On a sidenote: I have tried to modify write_delay by using the following connection URL: jdbc:hsqldb:file:data/hsqldb/dbbench;write_delay=false It didn't work. I debugged the HsqlDb sources and I could still see the write delay being set to 10 seconds.

I want to permanently increase the heap space for my tomcat apps. I read this page http://javahowto.blogspot.com/2006/06/6-common-errors-in-setting-java-heap.html and it says under the Tomcat section Stop Tomcat server, set environment variable CATALINA_OPTS, and then restart Tomcat. Look at the file tomcat-install/bin/catalina.sh or catalina.bat for how this variable is used. For example, set CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512m -Xmx512m (Windows, no "" around the value) export CATALINA_OPTS="-Xms512m -Xmx512m" (ksh/bash, "" around the value) setenv CATALINA_OPTS "-Xms512m -Xmx512m" (tcsh/csh, "" around the value) So I replaced the line set CATALINA_OPTS= with set CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512m -Xmx512m But I still get the error.

I would like to set the DataPoints' legendtext to the order.UserName property. The problem is, DataManipulator.Group overwrites the series DataPoints. So if I set the legendtext in the foreach loop, they will be erased after the Group call. And after the Group call, I don't see a way to retrieve the correct UserName for a DataPoint to set the legendtext. What is the best approach for this situation?

But if it is not Monday, excel will generate 3 emails with only 1 attachment/link. My issue is that In my excel spreadsheet there is a tab called Actual and it is populated with a date. If this date within my excel spreadsheet is changed on a monday, to any other day of the week, my vba code will still treat the program as if it is Monday. I need an IF statement that will allow the 3 emails with the 3 attachements/links to generate given the date typed in on the Actual tab within my spreadsheet. I hope this isnt confusing.

Mappings: I have the following mapping for Installation: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <hibernate-mapping xmlns="urn:nhibernate-mapping-2.2" assembly="myProgram.Core" namespace="myProgram"> <class name="Installation" table="Installations" lazy="true"> <id name="Id" column="Id" type="int"> <generator class="native" /> </id> <property name="Name" column="Name" type="string" not-null="true" /> <property name="Description" column="Description" type="string" /> <bag name="ComputerSystems" inverse="true" lazy="true" cascade="all-delete-orphan"> <key column="InstallationId" /> <one-to-many class="ComputerSystem" /> </bag> </class> </hibernate-mapping> I have the following mapping for ComputerSystem: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <id name="Id" column="ID" type="int"> <generator class="native" /> </id> <property name="Name" column="Name" type="string" not-null="true" /> <property name="Description" column="Description" type="string" /> <many-to-one name="Installation" column="InstallationID" cascade="save-update" not-null="true" /> Classes: The Installation class is: public class Installation { public virtual String Description { get; set; } public virtual String Name { get; set; } public virtual IList<ComputerSystem> ComputerSystems { get { if (_computerSystemItems== null) { lock (this) { if (_computerSystemItems== null) _computerSystemItems= new List<ComputerSystem>(); } } return _computerSystemItems; } set { _computerSystemItems= value; } } protected IList<ComputerSystem> _computerSystemItems; public Installation() { Description = ""; Name= ""; } } The ComputerSystem class is: public class ComputerSystem { public virtual String Name { get; set; } public virtual String Description { get; set; } public virtual Installation Installation { get; set; } } The issue is that I get an error when trying to delete an installation that contains a ComputerSystem. The error is: "deleted object would be re-saved by cascade (remove deleted object from associations)". Can anyone help ? Regards, Seb
