  • Is there a sorted_vector class, which supports insert() etc.?

    - by Frank
Often, it is more efficient to use a sorted std::vector instead of a std::set. Does anyone know a library class sorted_vector, which basically has a similar interface to std::set, but inserts elements into the sorted vector (so that there are no duplicates), uses binary search to find elements, etc.? I know it's not hard to write, but probably better not to waste time and use an existing implementation anyway.

  • How to define an aspectj pointcut that picks out all constructors of a class that has a specific annotation?

    - by PineForest
Here is the annotation: @Target(value = ElementType.TYPE) @Retention(value = RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME) @Inherited public @interface MyAnnotation { String name(); } Here is one annotated class: @MyAnnotation(name="foo") public class ClassA { public ClassA() { // Do something } } Here is a second annotated class: @MyAnnotation(name="bar") public class ClassB { public ClassB(String aString) { // Do something } } I am looking for an aspectj pointcut that correctly matches the constructors for ClassA and ClassB while not matching any other constructor for any other class NOT annotated by MyAnnotation.

  • One UI for two business objects

    - by JC
I have an order edit and quote edit screen that are very similar. I want to try to avoid code like this: if (order is Order) SetupScreenForOrder(); if (order is Quote) SetupScreenForQuote(); But maintaining two screens is not good either. If I create some common interface between a Quote and Order then how do you deal with fields like OrderNumber or QuoteDate? What's the best way to handle this?

  • PHP coding - A class for each view or one class to rule them all?

    - by Kyle
I am starting my first "programming" project in PHP making some sort of web application that give the linux program, Motion, a decent web interface. Anyways, I was curious as to how when real applications are programmed, do y'all go for a class for each view or one single class for the application altogether? I know this is more of a preference thing, I was just curious as to how it happens in real software.

  • Can I just release the top object (iPhone)?

    - by yar
If I release the object that's holding a reference to the variable that I need to release, is that sufficient? Or must I release at every level of the containment hierarchy? I fear that my logic comes from working with a garbage collector for too long. For instance, I assigned to this property of a UIPickerView instance by hand instead of using IB @property(nonatomic, assign) id<UIPickerViewDelegate> delegate Since it's an assign property, I can't just release the reference after I assign it. When I finally release my UIPickerView instance, do I need to do this: [singlePicker.delegate release]; [singlePicker release]; or is the second line sufficient? Also: Are these assign properties the norm, or is that mostly for Interface Builder? I thought that retain properties were the normal thing to expect.

  • BlackBerry - Handle and translate messages (sms/email/pim/pin)?

    - by humble coffee
Does the native Blackberry API allow for the modification of any messaging interface? For example, I'd like to be able to build an app that added a button at the bottom of a received message which says 'translate this'. I've heard that this kind of thing is possible using J2ME plus the native BlackBerry API. Can this be done for all kinds of messages, eg SMS, email and BB messaging? The translation aspect is not relevant, it just provides the context for the kind of feature I'm after.

  • How can I programmatically change my windows domain password?

    - by Deestan
In other words, how to change my password without going through the "CTRL-ALT-DEL - Change Password" interface. By programmatically I mean via a command-line tool, C# via a .NET library, COM-invocation via Python, ... whatever doesn't involve any manual steps, really. The "NET USER" command is ineligible, as it requires me to run with domain administrator privileges.

  • Reading from a very large table using multiple threads (Java ) and writing them to a single file

    - by user2534926
I am currently facing a situation where i have a table with almost 80 millions data and i have to take a dump of that table and store it into a csv file. Currently i am using a not so professional approach( with a perl script+DBI interface , printing the values to stdout and redirecting to a csv file). Now i am planning to use java threading approach. Can you suggest a way forward. Thanks in advance

  • Drag and Drop and identify locations with java

    - by out_sider
I'm trying to do something quite simple, but I'm having a hard time finding good examples on the net to what I want specifically. I'd like to somehing very similer to what it's here: Dao It's a simple game called DAO and I just need to have a background image with 16 squares (4x4) and drag and drop the images (pieces) on each square to the others. I'm developing the interface using swing and I simply want to know a good place to find tutorials for such implementations or a simple suggestion on how to do it. Thanks in advance

  • Multiple controllers with a single model

    - by Eric K
I'm setting up a directory application for which I need to have two separate interfaces for the same Users table. Basically, administrators use the Users controller and views to list, edit, and add users, while non-admins need a separate interface which lists users in a completely different manner. To do this, would I be able to just set up another controller with different views but which accesses the Users model? Sorry if this is a simple question, but I've had a hard time finding how to do this.

  • Python 2.7 creating a multidimensional list

    - by poop
I don't know why I am having so much trouble creating a 3 dimensional list. I need the program to create an empty n by n list. So for n = 4: x = [[[],[],[],[]],[[],[],[],[]],[[],[],[],[]],[[],[],[],[]]] I've tried using: y = [n*[n*[]]] y = [[[]]* n for i in range(n)] Which both appear to be creating copies of a reference. I've also tried naieve application of the list builder with little success: y = [[[]* n for i in range(n)]* n for i in range(n)] y = [[[]* n for i in range(1)]* n for i in range(n)] I've also tried building up the array iteratively using loops, with no success. In my rapid flurry of attempts to not post something stupidly easy to SO, I came upon a solution: y = [] for i in range(0,n): y.append([[]*n for i in range(n)]) Is there an easier/ more intuitive way of doing this?

  • .NET integration Framework

    - by buhtla
Is there any kind of framework that provides some generic mechanism for integration between applications or something similar? By integration I presume data exchange (import and export) between two applications via some standard interface like Web Service.

  • Should it be in a namespace?

    - by Knowing me knowing you
Do I have to put code from .cpp in a namespace from corresponding .h or it's enough to just write using declaration? //file .h namespace a { /*interface*/ class my { }; } //file .cpp using a::my; // Can I just write in this file this declaration and // after that start to write implementation, or // should I write: namespace a //everything in a namespace now { //Implementation goes here } Thanks.
