• MessageBox doesn't show on mdi form after a long calculation

  Hello This is a very similar problem to This one, sadly that one was never answered either. I have a MDI Main forum that hosts several children forms. One of them does a long calculation and throws an exception if an error occurs (all work is done on the same thread). I then try to inform the user of an error with an messagebox, however it doesn't appear (but steals focus from the MDI Main, so the application is completely unresponsive). The beheviour changes slightly if I call Application.DoEvents() (evil I know, but this is a last resort thing). Then the forms remain completely active and the messagebox only appears after I change active application (Alt+Tab) to something else and then back again. What can I do to make sure the messagebox will be visible? I have already tried passing both, active child and MDI Main as parameter to the MessageBox.Show method. It doesn't change the behaviour.

• Visual Studio 2008 macro only works from the Macro IDE, not the Macro Explorer

  Edit: Creating a new module in the same VSMacros project fixed the problem. The following macro only works if I open the Macro IDE from Visual Studio and run the macro from there. It'd be much more useful if I could just right click the macro from the Macro Explorer from my Visual Studio instance. I must be doing something obviously wrong, but I've never worked with VS macros before. The MessageBox does not appear in either case.   How to read strings from the MyResource.resx file from c#. I am not calling this from the asp.net page, rather i am calling from my bussiness logic.   Hello Everyone, I've the problem when I want to read "com.android.email.provider" to get email accounts. I have also tried by adding the permission in manifest: That dint not help. Any solution would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

  I successfully implemented and ran several Scala tutorials in Eclipse using the Scala plugin.   Hi all, I am currently using Quartz Scheduler for asynchronous tasks such as sending an email when an exception occurs, sending an email from the web interface, or periodically analyzing traffic. Should I use a message queue for sending an email? Is it any more efficient or correct to do it that way? The scheduler approach works just fine. If I use a queue and the email failed to send, is it possible for the queue to retry sending the email at a later time? The queue approach looks simpler than the scheduler for tasks that need to happen immediately, but for scheduler tasks, the scheduler still, unless there is more to the queue than I am aware of. I have not yet used JMS, so this is what I have read. Walter

• Linq to SQL DataContext Windsor IoC memory leak problem

  I have an ASP.NET MVC app that creates a Linq2SQL datacontext on a per-web-request basis using Castler Windsor IoC. For some reason that I do not fully understand, every time a new datacontext is created (on every web request) about 8k of memory is taken up and not released - which inevitably causes an OutOfMemory exception. If I force garbage collection the memory is released OK.   I'm working on a outlook 2003 AddIn using VSTO SE.We have few customized windows developed in WPF. It looks there are few client machines have problem with WPF rendering due to which there could be an exception due to addin is getting disabled. I added a outlook.exe.config and added trace listeners for wpf Trace sources. I set it up according this link. The console trace listener is working fine for me. But I'm not able get the TextWriterTraceListener working with config <add name="textListener" type="System.Diagnostics.TextWriterTraceListener" initializeData="Trace.log" /> I tried giving absolute path for trace log file as "C:\Trace.log".The TextWriterTraceListener worked for a dummy wpf app with the same config. Am I missing anything here.

• Container Options in AWS Elastic Beanstalk

  We have deployed a java webapplication in Elastic Beanstalk with the minimum instance count 1 and max instance count 2 for Autoscaling. The custom AMI we are using is c1.medium with Sun JDK 6. The environment status changed to yellow and then red. After checking into the log file from the snapshot logs we found a exception - Caused by: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space. Assuming this could be one of the possible reason for the Environment failure. The settings that we have configured in the Environment Container option are Initial JVM Heap Size (MB) - 256M Maximum JVM Heap Size (MB) - 512m The maximum heap size the java virtual machine will ever consume, specified on the JVM launch command line using -Xmx. Maximum JVM Permanent Generation Size (MB) - 512m Should i increase the Heap size from 512m to more or is it fine.

• WPF Application Hang

  Hi, I'm using Windows 7 Professional (x64) and having installed .NET 4.0 RTM on my machine. Since 2 days I'm noticing that every WPF application that I'm trying to run hangs and becomes non responsive (a not responding text is appended to it's title bar) and it's painted white. There is no info regarding any exception, no error message. Nothing. Even the Event Log shows that there was "application hang" event (code 1002) and nothing more. This problem is for everything that is written in WPF, even for products like NHibernate Profiler and other stuff that I was using on a regular basis without any issues. Tried to reinstall .NET 4.0 and nothing changed. Any ideas why this might be happening?

• mkmapview userlocation annimation issue

  I have issue with userlocation in mkmapview. The thing is that i have navigation controller which pushes mapview , as soon as it pushes it userlocation is queried. But if user pop mapview view before userlocation animation is finished , it throws exception because animation is trying to access deallocated mapview instance. So my question is , how to prevent that. I could do it by disabling back button , but i am not sure if that right way to take. Does anybody know how to stop current animation?

  I'm using EF4 and I'm running into a problem when I try to do something that looks quite trivial to me. I have two entities, let's call them A and B. These entities have a many-to-many association between them with a navigation property on A that contains a list of related B entities. What I want to do is to add existing B entities to a new A entity. When I try to do that, I get an exception: AcceptChanges cannot continue because the object's key values conflict with another object in the ObjectStateManager. Make sure that the key values are unique before calling AcceptChanges. Has anyone run into such a problem?

  Hi, I'm getting a "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.ejb.EJBObject" error when I'm running my application as a JAR file. When running it in Eclipse everything is working fine. The application properly access the main class and the main method. But when it tries to load the application context it cannot resolve a reference to an EJB bean. I then get the following error: Error creating bean with name 'bc' defined in class path resource [blabla.xml]: Initialization of bean failed; nested exception is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/ejb/EJBObject at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.BeanDefinitionValueResolver .resolveReference(BeanDefinitionValueResolver.java:275) ...
