  I need to write a script that will recreate my opt folder if it gets deleted when I remove a package from it. Here's a link to my previous post: dpkg remove to stop processes Now, the issue I'm running into could be better described here: http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/03/msg00242.html I was thinking of just adding a postrem script which checks if an opt directory exists, and if not, creates one. My experience with shell scripts is pretty limited though..

  I'd like to be able to maintain the width of controls globally throughout my WPF application. Previously in winforms world I'd override onload in a base form and iterate through all controls and containers and determine the type of controls and set the dimensions accordingly. I guess I could do the same in WPF but is there any better way to do this?

  I am writing a C wrapper an would like to use a typedef aquivalent to define some types which should be valid in quite a lot of source files. Those "types" are just different aliases to [u]int16/32/64_t, but are useful to distinguish function parameters. One could use using MyId=System.Int32;, but this needs to be redeclared in every file as far as I see... Is there a better way?

  I have a situation where I need to extract dates from the file names whose general pattern is [filename_]YYYYMMDD[.fileExtension] e.g. "xxx_20100326.xls" or x2v_20100326.csv The below program does the work //Number of charecter in the substring is set to 8 //since the length of YYYYMMDD is 8 public static string ExtractDatesFromFileNames(string fileName) { return fileName.Substring(fileName.IndexOf("_") + 1, 8); } Is there any better option of achieving the same? • How to animate the change of image in an UIImageView?

  I have an UIImageView with an image. Now I have a completely new image (graphic file), and want to display that in this UIImageView. If I just set myImageView.image = newImage; the new image is visible immediately. Not animatable. I want it to nicely fade into the new image. I thought maybe there's a better solution than just creating a new UIImageView on top of that and blending with animation?

I'm looking into parsing environment variable $LC_ALL, but it isn't always set to a useful value, and its format seems to vary (can be <locale, or <locale.<code page, or <locale.<code page@<modifier etc...).   I am using DbProviderFactories.GetFactoryClasses() method to check odp.net exists or not. It works perfectly fine when odp.net is not installed or when it is installed. But when I unistall odp.net 10g then also it shows odp.net provider exists. I have checked registry it doesn't show odp.net. Please suggest a better way to check if odp.net exists or not.
