• Trying to integrate Jeditable+MarkItUp and Thickbox/Lightbox

  I've managed to successfully integrate MarkItUp with Jeditable based on the instructions on those two sites. What I would really like to do, however, is to have the Jeditable/MarkItUp editing window appear in a Thickbox or Lightbox overlay. So far my attempts to do this have not been successful.   I'm trying to request a HTTP resource that requires basic authorization headers from within an Adobe AIR application. I've tried manually adding the headers to the request, as well as using the setRemoteCredentials() method to set them, to no avail. • Panning Image Using Javascript in ASP.Net Page Overflows Div

  I have an ASP.Net page that contains a <div> with an <img> tag within. The image is large so the <div> is set with a size of 500x500 pixels with overflow set to scroll. I'm attempting to add image panning using a click and drag on the image. However, every time I begin dragging the image escapes the boundary of the element and consumes the entire page. • Why does Raphael's framerate slow down on this code?

  So I'm just doing a basic orbit simulator using Raphael JS, where I draw one circle as the "star" and another circle as the "planet". It seems to be working just fine, with the one snag that as the simulation continues, its framerate progressively slows down until the orbital motion no longer appears fluid.   How can I prevent double encoding of html entities, or fix them programmatically? I am using the encode() function from the HTML::Entities perl module to encode HTML entities in user input. The problem here is that we also allow users to input HTML entities directly and these entities end up being double encoded. For example, a user may enter: Stackoverflow & Perl = Awesome&hellip; This ends up being encoded to Stackoverflow &amp; Perl = Awesome&amp;hellip; This renders in the browser as Stackoverflow & Perl = Awesome&hellip; We want this to render as Stackoverflow & Perl = Awesome... Is there a way to prevent this double encoding? Or is there a module or snippet of code that can easily correct these double encoding issues? Any help is greatly appreciated!

• Manifest or Theme/Style for a IWebBrowser2 control?

  The IWebBrowser2 control has password edit boxes which are squares. This happened many years ago if you were on an XP machine, and you had a password edit field without a manifest file, you would get squares (no character found for the * they put in there with that font). My application has a manifest file. However I don't know how to give a manifest or set the theme or style of the control that is created. Any ideas? Thanks!

• rails search nested set (categories and sub categories)

  Hello, I am using the http://github.com/collectiveidea/awesome_nested_set awesome nested set plugin and currently, if I choose a sub category as my category_id for an item, I can not search by its parent. Category.parent Category.Child I choose Category.child as the category that my item is in. So now my item has category_id of 4 stored in it. If I go to a page in my rails application, lets say teh Category page and I am on the Category.parent's page, I want to show products that have category_id's of all the descendants as well. So ideally i want to have a find method that can take into account the descendants. You can get the descendants of a root by calling root.descendants (a built in plugin method). How would I go about making it so I can query a find that gets the descendants of a root instead of what its doing now which is binging up nothing unless the product had a specific category_id of the Category.parent. I hope I am being clear here. I either need to figure out a way to create a find method or named_scope that can query and return an array of objects that have id's corresponding tot he descendants of a root OR if I have any other options, what are they? I thought about creating a field in my products table like parent_id which can keep track of the parent so i can then create two named scopes one finding the parent stuff and one finding the child stuff and chaining them. I know I can create a named scope for each child and chain them together for multiple children but this seems a very tedious process and also, if you add more children, you would need to specify more named scopes.

  I am working on a pretty simple web application (famous last words) and am working with Rails 2.3.5 + MongoMapper 0.7.2 and using embedded documents. I have two questions to ask: First, are there any example applications out there using Rails + MongoMapper + EmbeddedDocument? Preferably on GitHub or some other similar site so that I can take a look at the source and see where I am supposed to head? If not ... ... what is the best way to approach this task? How would I go about creating a form to handle an embedded document. What I am attempting to do is add addresses to users. I can toss up the two models in question if you would like. • Multiple synonym dictionary matches in PostgreSQL full text searching

  I am trying to do full text searching in PostgreSQL 8.3. It worked splendidly, so I added in synonym matching (e.g. 'bob' == 'robert') using a synonym dictionary. That works great too. But I've noticed that it apparently only allows a word to have one synonym. That is, 'al' cannot be 'albert' and 'allen'. Is this correct? Is there any way to have multiple dictionary matches in a PostgreSQL synonym dictionary? For reference, here is my sample dictionary file: bob robert bobby robert al alan al albert al allen And the SQL that creates the full text search config: CREATE TEXT SEARCH DICTIONARY nickname (TEMPLATE = synonym, SYNONYMS = nickname); CREATE TEXT SEARCH CONFIGURATION dxp_name (COPY = simple); ALTER TEXT SEARCH CONFIGURATION dxp_name ALTER MAPPING FOR asciiword WITH nickname, simple; What am I doing wrong? When I close my browser the JSessionId disappears. Here's my code: request.getSession().setMaxInactiveInterval(30*60); //it's 30 minutes request.getSession().setAttribute("someinteger", 10); It works great, but when I shut down the browser, and reopen it I can't find the jsessionId (before I closed the browser I could find it in the 'localhost' section). The strange thing is I can still find the "someinteger" cookie. What is the problem? What am I doing wrong? I'm using this, too: link text, and it shows that JSESSIONID cookie expires : "SESSION", and "someinteger" expires in 30 minutes Thanks in advance.

• How to produce precisely-timed tone and silence in C#

  I have a C# project that plays Morse code for RSS feeds. I write it using Managed DirectX, only to discover that Managed DirectX is old and deprecated. The task I have is to play pure sine wave bursts interspersed with silence periods (the code) which are precisely timed as to their duration. I need to be able to call a function which plays a pure tone for so many milliseconds, then Thread.Sleep() then play another, etc. At its fastest, the tones and spaces can be as short as 40ms. It's working quite well in Managed DirectX. To get the precisely timed tone I create 1 sec. of sine wave into a secondary buffer, then to play a tone of a certain duration I seek forward to within x milliseconds of the end of the buffer then play. I've tried System.Media.SoundPlayer. It's a loser because you have to Play(), Sleep(), then Stop() for arbitrary tone lengths. The result is a tone that is too long, variable by CPU load. It takes an indeterminate amount of time to actually stop the tone. I then embarked on a lengthy attempt to use NAudio 1.3. I ended up with a memory resident stream providing the tone data, and again seeking forward leaving the desired length of tone remaining in the stream, then playing. This worked OK on the DirectSoundOut class for a while (see below) but the WaveOut class quickly dies with an internal assert saying that buffers are still on the queue despite PlayerStopped = true. This is odd since I play to the end then put a wait of the same duration between the end of the tone and the start of the next. You'd think that 80ms after starting Play of a 40 ms tone that it wouldn't have buffers on the queue. DirectSoundOut works well for a while, but its problem is that for every tone burst Play() it spins off a separate thread. Eventually (5 min or so) it just stops working. You can see thread after thread after thread exiting in the Output window while running the project in VS2008 IDE. I don't create new objects during playing, I just Seek() the tone stream then call Play() over and over, so I don't think it's a problem with orphaned buffers/whatever piling up till it's choked. I'm out of patience on this one, so I'm asking in the hopes that someone here has faced a similar requirement and can steer me in a direction with a likely solution. Thanks in advance...

• Custom Database integration with MOSS 2007

  Hopefully someone has been down this road before and can offer some sound advice as far as which direction I should take. I am currently involved in a project in which we will be utilizing a custom database to store data extracted from excel files based on pre-established templates (to maintain consistency). We currently have a process (written in C#.Net 2008) that can extract the necessary data from the spreadsheets and import it into our custom database. What I am primarily interested in is figuring out the best method for integrating that process with our portal. What I would like to do is let SharePoint keep track of the metadata about the spreadsheet itself and let the custom database keep track of the data contained within the spreadsheet. So, one thing I need is a way to link spreadsheets from SharePoint to the custom database and vice versa. As these spreadsheets will be updated periodically, I need tried and true way of ensuring that the data remains synchronized between SharePoint and the custom database. I am also interested in finding out how to use the data from the custom database to create reports within the SharePoint portal. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.

But can I do this on my websites and can I include different versions of my CSS file just by changing the numbers?

• [C#] Namespace Orginization and Conventions

  So I have a little bit of a problem. I working on a project in C# using The StackOveflow API. You can send it a request like so: http://stackoverflow.com/users/rep/126196/2010-01-01/2010-03-13 And get back something like this JSON response: [{"PostUrl":"1167342", "PostTitle":"Are ref and out in C# the same a pointers in C++?", "Rep":10}, {"PostUrl":"1290595", "PostTitle":"Where can I find a good tutorial on bubbling?", "Rep":10} ... So my problem is that I have some methods like GetJsonResponse() which return the above JSON and SaveTempFile() which saves that JSON response to a temporary file for later use. I not sure if I should create a class for them, or what namespace to put them under. Right now my current namespace hierarchy is like so: StackOverflow.Api.Json. So how should I organize these methods/classes/namespaces?

• Are stack based arrays possible in C#?

  Let's say, hypothetically (read: I don't think I actually need this, but I am curious as the idea popped into my head), one wanted an array of memory set aside locally on the stack, not on the heap. For instance, something like this: private void someFunction() { int[20] stackArray; //C style; I know the size and it's set in stone } I'm guessing the answer is no. All I've been able to find is heap based arrays. If someone were to need this, would there be any workarounds? Is there any way to set aside a certain amount of sequential memory in a "value type" way? Or are structs with named parameters the only way (like the way the Matrix struct in XNA has 16 named parameters (M11-M44))?

  It's easy to find duplicates with one field SELECT name, COUNT(email) FROM users GROUP BY email HAVING ( COUNT(email) > 1 ) So if we have a table ID NAME EMAIL 1 John [email protected] 2 Sam [email protected] 3 Tom [email protected] 4 Bob [email protected] 5 Tom [email protected] This query will give us John, Sam, Tom, Tom because they all have the same e-mails. But what I want, is to get duplicates with the same e-mails and names. I want to get Tom, Tom. I made a mistake, and allowed to insert duplicate name and e-mail values. Now I need to remove/change the duplicates. But I need to find them first.

• segmentation fault on Unix - possible stack corruption

  hello, i'm looking at a core from a process running in Unix. Usually I can work my around and root into the backtrace to try identify a memory issue. In this case, I'm not sure how to proceed. Firstly the backtrace only gives 3 frames where I would expect alot more. For those frames, all the function parameters presented appears to completely invalid. There are not what I would expect. Some pointer parameters have the following associated with them - Cannot access memory at address Would this suggest some kind of complete stack corruption. I ran the process with libumem and all the buffers were reported as being clean. umem_status reported nothing either. so basically I'm stumped. What is the likely causes? What should I look for in code since libumem appears to have reported no errors. Any suggestions on how I can debug furhter? any extra features in mdb I should consider? thank you.
