Most of "multi-platform" CI tools I've seen are in the Java/.NET world, like TeamCity or Hudson. Is there a continuous integration tool that can handle both PHP and Rails projects?
Hi ALl
Is there a way to find out which process is causing a particular event to occur?
In the inotify-tool version 3.13, in struct_kernel , pid,uid and gid are used but it is not handled in the source code.
Is there any latest patch available for the same.
Please let me know.
There was this old sql server tool called Lectoneth or something like that, you'd put sql queries in it, and it would rewrite it for you.
I think quest bought them out, but I can't find where to download a free copy of that software.
Really helps when you have no dba, and have lots of sql queries to rewrite.
Thanks
Craig
What is your favourite Code Coverage tool(s) (Free/non-free) and how do you use them effectively?
There are several options available, such as:
CodeCover
Coverlipse
Emma / EclEmma
Atlassian Clover (commercial)
Cobertura
Crap4j
I have CodeCover telling me various chunks of my code are 58% covered etc. But how does this help me write better code?
Hello.
I'm currently looking for a QBE tool that can execute
queries on PostgreSQL or MySQL.
OS doesn't really matter.
Reason is that we've got to do QBE at school but I don't want to use neither Microsoft Access nor OpenOffice.org Base (lack of features).
Any help would be appreciated.
For one of my clients I'm currently building an application that communicates with a legacy Microsoft Access database. Migrating to SQL server is unfortunately not (yet) an option. I currently write the queries using OleDbConnection, OleDbCommand and –good old- text based queries. As you can imagine I'm a bit spoiled by using modern O/RM tools and I feel like I went back in time.
Which O/RM tool supports Microsoft Access so I can get rid of this uglyness?
I'm working on a ASP.NET MVC project where we have decided to use Fluent nHibernate for dataccess. To enable loose coupling we go for a IoC/DI pattern. My questions is what IoC tool to go for. I've tried to find the differences between windsor, ninject, spring, structuremap and unity, but it's difficult to see the benefits each one has to offer. Whats your experience?
If i make java core dump with gcore then what is the best tool to analyze it? I need to be able make jmap, jstack, jstat etc and also i need to see values of all variables.

Does anyone know of a tool that I can use to find C-Style casts in code? I am refactoring some C++ code and want to replace C-Style casts where ever possible.
This tool is supposed to configure users and roles etc., but when I use it on a new web site, with a new aspnetdb database, it adds a record to the aspnet_Applications table with the ApplicationName and the LoweredApplicationName fields set to /. I think it would make more sense if it actually used the application name, i.e. the web site name. Can I safely just change the application name? Is there a better way of configuring these things?
i have rename the table name of asp.net administration tool's website now its not working when i click on security it gives an error(invalid server name or credentials, or by insufficient permissions) so please let me know if any one have solution.
I'm currently writing some Java to wrap around an extensive command line tool. It feels like I'm writing a lot of similar code.
I'm wondering if there are any established patterns for wrapping command line tools - passing arguments and handling output and so on.
Specific examples in Java would obviously be great, but any general suggestions or pointers are welcome too.
Can anyone recommend a decent tool for optimising images other than adobe photoshop, the gimp etc?
I'm looking to optimise images for the web preferably online and free.
Basically I have a client who can't install additional software on their work PC but needs to optimise photographs and other images for their website and is presently uploading 1 or 2 Mb files.
On a personal level I'm interested to see what other people are using...
What tool can I use to displays a picture of a desgin with transparency right over my website?
I need to check that my design fits, pixel by pixel, to the wishes of the designer.
Is there any tool (editor, script, whatever...) available that can automatically reformat R code? It does not need to be customizable but it must be able to recognize statements separated by either semicolons or newlines since this code has both. If it can put all statements on a separate line, consistently indent code blocks and consistently place braces I will be very happy.
I'm trying to grab some information from a private XML file used as DB schema, I'm thinking an XQuery command line tool could help. Would you please recommend one? Thanks. BTW, the implementations list is too long for me to pick...
I experimented with DocBook XML a while back, and also used it professionally for documenting a few software projects, but since the tool support at the time was not very good, I soon abandoned it in favor of hand-written LaTeX, and later LyX.
Now I'm considering taking another look at DocBook, and I was wondering, what are the best tools for working with DocBook XML documents today?
I see that there is the SVN_EDITOR environment variable to define what editor to use with subversion, and there's also SVN_MERGE environment variable for merging files.
Is there an environment variable for defining the differencing tool?
Is there any client tool available which allow me to browse through files which are on http folder (I know there is a filezila but that only shows FTP files)?
I would use hg4idea to do this but it seems to leak memory badly. Is there a way to use Intellij 9 as the default merge tool for TortoiseHG/Mercurial? KDiff3 makes very little sense to me.
Hi, I am having netessa db as the backend for my application.I need to write procedure so as to handle many complex logic but my db visualiser version doesnt support procedures. Please suggest me a tool instead of this db visualiser. A freeware would be preferable. Please suggest
Looking for some [freeware/opensource] tool in order to make it easy to profile a big php project on win32 platform. Need to find out which part of code is most time consuming.

Is there going to be a way with the 4.0 SDK to create a tool similar to Pandora(which was demoed today), so when the phone is locked, I can manipulate my app? So basically if my app was running, and my phone locks I don't have to unlock the phone to toggle something for the app?
Hi,
does anyone know of a good profiling tool or library for Clojure?
I would prefer something that could be used from the REPL, along the lines of (with-profiling ...) in Allegro Common Lisp back in the day.
Is there anything along those lines?
Or do you have any experience with (non-commercial) Java profilers that work well with Clojure?
