    Hi, I have to import big xml files to Ms SQL 2005 Database by using C# with high end Performance. Even if any record fails in middle, i have to take next record for process and failed record need to log for audit. I don't want to put insert query with in for loop. Could you please suggest a best way to do this. If I can use bulkcopy methods or Data Adapter update methods- Its very nice, But if any record fails, execution of that statement breaks and rolled back totally, right? Any alternatives and Best practices with example please..? Is Multi-threading works for me to improve performance..? Give me example please. Thanks Karthikeyan

    My project is a computer vision java application which should implement the following : A web interface through which the form entry+images(for example a student data) will be stored into a database(Mysql) & images into directory common to my java application. Then the data & images can be retrieved from my java Gui application and I can perform the following operations of image processing through OpenCV. Actually,I want to run the face detection on images retrieved and discard the false entries(no proper face). Also the application user/admin can search an image based on text search(By Id) or By another reference image using face recognition. I am well familiar with Java but the problem is that I need a guidance on how to organise it in a stepwise manner(links appreciated).OpenCv,Php and mySql are really messy.I know doing the openCV stuff within java is real overhead but i really want to do it.But If there is any suggestion to do it elseway please guide me.So any kind of help is a ray of hope for me.     I have the following script which I use to give me a simple "diff" between tables on two different databases. (Note: In reality my comparison is on a lot more than just an ID) SELECT MyTableA.MyId, MyTableB.MyId FROM MyDataBaseA..MyTable MyTableA FULL OUTER JOIN MyDataBaseB..MyTable MyTableB ON MyTableA.MyId = MyTableB.MyId WHERE MyTableA.MyId IS NULL OR MyTableB.MyId IS NULL I now need to run this script on two databases that exist on different servers. At the moment my solution is to backup the database from one server, restore it to the other and then run the script. I'm pretty sure this is possible, however, is this likely to be a can of worms? This is a very rare task I need to perform and if it involves a large number of DB setting changes then I will probably stick to my backup method.

So there are times when I want the command window to not show up and times when I want it to stay open so that the user can see what happened, possibly respond with the appropriate input.     Tableau is extremely flexible when it comes to visualizing and playing around with datasets, but it is extremely slow when you go into "production mode" and publish a particular view that you've created onto your server. Does anyone know of any tools that can be used to connect to a database, present interactive (or somewhat interactive) dashboards, and perform reasonably well when published to a server? To be clearer, I am looking for something like this -- http://www.corda.com/executive-dashboard-graph-styles.php. I realize that such a product might not exist. If so, is there a particular framework or library that I could use to create killer interactive visualizations of data for the web?

    I installed SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition on Windows 7 Ultimate from sadegh user. This account exists in administrators role. after a few days I removed sadegh user from Windows and now I am using administrator user. But I can't login to SQL Server database engine using Windows authentication method and I receive this error message: TITLE: Connect to Server Cannot connect to SADEGH-PC.   • Storing ASP.Net MVC Views in the Database

    For an ASP.Net MVC application, I'm interested in storing some views and/or partial views in the database so that a few semi-technical users can do some basic view logic. Does anyone have any tips or lessons from experience on doing this? I know Phil Haack wrote a blog post on this about a year ago. He used IronRuby for scripting his views, (which would be fine for me). He created a quick proof-of-concept, but I can't find any other information on the topic. Any ideas, thoughts, tips, etc would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Rendering PDFs from a database inside MVC views?

    I was wondering if it's possible to do this without using 3rd party compnents in MVC 3. (I am open to free components though.) There are a couple of links out there but they seem to be mostly concerned with reporting and other code samples that do claim to do this sort of thing don't seem to compile. I'm not having any trouble saving and retrieving the PDFs to and from my database, but when I return the PDF as a File or a FileStreamResult the user is prompted with a download. A more desirable approach would be to actually render the PDFs inside the browser. I've had a look at iTextSHarp, it does the job to an extent, but it's not a complete solution. For example it will display the PDF inside the view if and only if the client has Adobe Reader installed, otherwise it prompts for a download. So technically, I'm mostly looking for a PDF viewer. Any ideas?

    I would like to add some interactive capability to a python CLI application I've writen that stores data in a SQLite3 database. Currently, my app reads-in a certain type of file, parses and analyzes, puts the analysis data into the db, and spits the formatted records to stdout (which I generally pipe to a file). There are on-the-order-of a million records in this file. Ideally, I would like to eliminate that text file situation altogether and just loop after that "parse and analyze" part, displaying a screen's worth of records, and allowing the user to page through them and enter some commands that will edit the records. The backend part I know how to do. Can anyone suggest a good starting point for creating that pager frontend either directly in the console (like the pager "less"), through ncurses, or some other system?

    I have a question regarding map api. I was using the the google map api in my website before. But since I have encryption the site using HTTPS/SSL support, the google map api stopped working. I checked online, and realised that google has a Premier account only that would allow me to use HTTPS supported maps api and it cost $10,000 per year. I do not this kind of money with me.     I am looking at open source queuing platforms that allow me do the following: I have multiple producers, multiple consumers putting data into a queue in a multithreaded environment with the specific use case: I want the ability for consumers to be able do the following Peek at a message from the queue(which should mark as the message as invisible on the queue so that other consumers cannot consume the same message) The consumer works on the message consumed and if it is able to do the work successfully, it marks the message as consumed which should permanently delete it from the queue. If the consumer dies abruptly after marking the message as consumed or fails to acknowledge successful consumption after a certain timeout, the message is made visible on the queue again so that another consumer can pick it up. I've been looking at RabbitMQ, hornetQ, ActiveMQ but I'm not sure I can get this functionality out of the box, any recommendations on a system that gives me this functionality?

    Hi I know stackoverflow uses open authentication. I want to try and use this as well. I am using asp.net mvc 2.0 with C#.   • Force save files all browsers - not open in browser window

    I'm after a simple solution to work in all browsers. For specific file types, or targeted links via a class: how can I get them to simply force download in all major browsers.     I want (have) to write a Silverlight and (or) ASP.NET based webapplication with SAP in the backend (in other words, the datasource is no classical database) . The usage of Silverlight and ASP.NET is a precondition. Is it possible to use the WCF RIA Services (and Silverlight) where the data-source are RFCs from SAP ? Makes this sense ? If yes, how the pattern/architecture could be shortly described ? Or should I take other architectures into considerations (usage of plain WCF services, WCF data services,...) ?
