• SSIS DTS Package flat file error - "The file name specified in the connection was not valid"

  I have a pretty basic SSIS package that is attempting to read a file hosted on a share, and import its contents to a database table. The package runs fine when I run it manually within SSIS. However, when I set up a SQL Agent job and attempt to execute it, I get the following error: Executed as user: DOMAIN\UserName. This leads me to believe it's a permissions issue, but every attempt I've made to fix it has failed. What I've tried so far: Run as the SQL Agent account (DOMAIN\SqlAgent) - yields same error. DOMAIN\SqlAgent has "Full Control" permissions on both the share and the uploaded file. Set up a proxy account with a different account's credentials (DOMAIN\Account) - yields same error. Like above, "Full Control" permissions were given over the share to that account. Gave "Everyone" full control permissions over the share (temporarily!). Yielded same error. Manually copied the file to a local path and tested with the SQL Agent account. Worked properly. Added an ActiveX script task that would first copy the remotely hosted file to a local path, and then have the DTS package reference the local file. Gave a completely nondescriptive (even by SSIS standards) error when trying to run the script. Set up a proxy account, using my own personal account's credentials - worked correctly. However, this is not an acceptable solution as there are password policies in place on my account, as well as being a bad practice to set things up this way in general. Any ideas? I'm still convinced it's a permissions issue. However, what I've read from various searches more or less says giving the executing account permissions on the share should work. However, this is not the case here (unless I'm missing something obscure when I'm setting up permissions on the share).

  I am using the urllib2 module in Python 2.6.4, running in Windows XP, to access a URL. I am making a post request, that does not involve cookies or https or anything too complicated. The domain is redirected in my C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file. However, I would like the request from urllib2 to go to the "real" domain and ignore the entry in the hosts file. Is there any easy and practical way to do this?

• How to run an application as root without asking for an admin password?

  I am writing a program in Objective-C (XCode 3.2, on Snow Leopard) that is capable of either selectively blocking certain sites for a duration or only allow certain sites (and thus block all others) for a duration. The reasoning behind this program is rather simple. I tend to get distracted when I have full internet access, but I do need internet access during my working hours to get to a number of work-related websites. Clearly, this is not a permanent block, but only helps me to focus whenever I find myself wandering a bit too much. At the moment, I am using a Unix script that is called via AppleScript to obtain Administrator permissions. It then activates a number of ipfw rules and clears those after a specific duration to restore full internet access. Simple and effective, but since I am running as a standard user, it gets cumbersome to enter my administrator password each and every time I want to go "offline". Furthermore, this is a great opportunity to learn to work with XCode and Objective-C. At the moment, everything works as expected, minus the actual blocking. I can add a number of sites in a list, specify whether or not I want to block or allow these websites and I can "start" the blocking by specifying a time until which I want to stay "offline". However, I find it hard to obtain clear information on how I can run a privileged Unix command from Objective-C. Ideally, I would like to be able to store information with respect to the Administrator account into the Keychain to use these later on, so that I can simply move into "offline" mode with the convenience of clicking a button. Even more ideally, there might be some class in Objective-C with which I can block access to some/all websites for this particular user without needing to rely on privileged Unix commands. A third possibility is in starting this program with root permissions and the reducing the permissions until I need them, but since this is a GUI application that is nested in the menu bar of OS X, the results are rather awkward and getting it to run each and every time with root permission is no easy task. Anyone who can offer me some pointers or advice? Please, no security-warnings, I am fully aware that what I want to do is a potential security threat.

  How do you execute a Unix shell command (awk script, a pipe etc) on a cluster in parallel (step 1) and collect the results back to a central node (step 2) Hadoop seems to be a huge overkill with its 600k LOC and its performance is terrible (takes minutes just to initialize the job) i don't need shared memory, or - something like MPI/openMP as i dont need to synchronize or share anything, don't need a distributed VM or anything as complex Google's SawZall seems to work only with Google proprietary MapReduce API some distributed shell packages i found failed to compile, but there must be a simple way to run a data-centric batch job on a cluster, something as close as possible to native OS, may be using unix RPC calls i liked rsync simplicity but it seem to update remote notes sequentially, and you cant use it for executing scripts as afar as i know switching to Plan 9 or some other network oriented OS looks like another overkill i'm looking for a simple, distributed way to run awk scripts or similar - as close as possible to data with a minimal initialization overhead, in a nothing-shared, nothing-synchronized fashion Thanks Alex

• WMI: Editing the Registry Remotely

  I'm trying to use the following code (poorly written, but it's just a proof of concept) to edit the registry of a computer on a domain. I have a domain account, and I've verified that the domain admin group is present in the local admin group on the machines I'm attempting to affect. I've connected to these other machines to perform other administrative type tasks, so I'm sure that I have administrative privileges on these hosts. All of StdRegProv's "get" methods work fine (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa393664%28VS.85%29.aspx) but the "set" or "create" methods as well as check access all return "5" which is "Error_Access_Denied" according to winerror.h. So there's the problem: why do I get access denied when attempting to modify the registry? If anyone can help me figure this out, you'd have my utmost appreciation! I almost forgot, when I fire up Visual Studio in admin mode on my local machine and run the code against the local machine, it works flawlessly. And as an explanation I read somewhere, that browsers will load up to 5 things simultaneously from the same domain. Would a subdomain, for example cdn.example.com be considered a new domain, in the previous statement?

  I just setup a subdomain with the following RewriteCond: RewriteCond $1 !^search.php$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^/?([^/]+)$ search.php?q=$1 [L,NS] I'm using the same rewrite condition on my main domain and it works perfectly. However, when I set it up on the subdomain, it simply outputs "index.php" when going to http://sub.domain.com Every page on the subdomain outputs the page name in the body instead of processing the code, except for the search page, which appears to be working correctly. What can I do to correct this issue?

• No norwegian characters in LaTeX

  Hi, I have translated a document from English to Norwegian in the LaTeX format, and while using norwegian special characters, I get an error using \usepackage[utf8x]{inputenc} to try and display the norwegian (scandinavian) special characters in PostScript/PDF/DVI format, saying Package utf8x Error: MalformedUTF-8sequence. So while that didn't work, I tried out another possible solution: \usepackage{ucs} \usepackage[norsk]babel And when I tried to save that in Emacs I get this message: These default coding systems were tried to encode text in the buffer `lol.tex': (utf-8-unix (905 . 4194277) (916 . 4194245) (945 . 4194278) (950 . 4194277) (954 . 4194296) (990 . 4194277) (1010 . 4194277) (1013 . 4194278) (1051 . 4194277) (1078 . 4194296) (1105 . 4194296)) However, each of them encountered characters it couldn't encode: utf-8-unix cannot encode these: \345 \305 \346 \345 \370 \345 \345 \346 \345 \370 ... Thanks to Emacs I have the possibility to check out the properties of those characters and the first one tells me: character: \345 (4194277, #o17777745, #x3fffe5) preferred charset: eight-bit (Raw bytes 128-255) code point: 0xE5 syntax: w which means: word buffer code: #xE5 file code: not encodable by coding system utf-8-unix display: not encodable for terminal Which doesn't tell me much. When I try to build this with texi2dvi --dvipdf filename.text I get a perfectly fine PDF, all without the special norwegian characters. When I am about to save Emacs also ask me: "Select coding system (default raw-text):" And I type in utf-8 to choose its coding system. I have also tried to choose default raw-text to see if I get some different result. But nothing. At last I tried \lstset{inputencoding=utf8x, extendedchars=\true} ... a code I came over while trying to google the solution to this problem. Which gives me this error: Undefined control sequence. So basically, I have tried every encoding option I have been able to find and nothing works. I am desperately trying to make this work since the norwegian translation must be published before the deadline. As an additional information I may add that I found out later on that I only had the en_US.UTF-8 in my locale, so I added nb_NO.UTF-8 and nb_NO.ISO-8859-15 and ran locale-gen + reboot without any changes. I hope I provided enough information to get some assistance, the characters in question is æ ø å.

  In the OpenSocial Data specificaiton 1.0 for a Person object (social profile data) it includes the use of a generic called Plural-Field. The spec can be found at: http://opensocial-resources.googlecode.com/svn/spec/1.0/Social-Data.xml#Person In the 1.0 data specification there is no XSD and no examples showing the use of this generic Plural-Field. After puzzeling the spec for some time I think I might understand the user of this generic. I was hoping that someone could confirm or correct my understanding. For example the accounts field is a generic Plural-Field<Account> while the activities field is Plural-Field <string>.   Hello, i have an application where is use Qt 4.6 and Microsoft SDKs (the Psapi.Lib). I use cmake or qmake to build. For qmake and cmake i specify in hard the path of the Psapi.lib. qmake : win32 { LIBS += "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Lib\Psapi.Lib" } cmake : SET(PSAPI "C:/Program Files/Microsoft SDKs/Windows/v7.0A/Lib/Psapi.Lib") But i want to avoid the hard path, is there is any way to search the SDK lib ? • Javascript iFrame Limitations

  I know that, for security reasons, javascript can't read the contents of an iframe if it belongs to a different domain. This makes sense, given that the entire page could be an iframe with snooping scripts outside of the frame. The question is - are there equal limitations in the other direction? Can javascript within an iframe (from a different domain) read and manipulate the dom in its parent window? Thanks!

After that I can continue my selection. My question is how to remove this error and stuck? Any help is appreciated.

I'm pretty confused about the *nix library system as well (so, dylibs, the ar tool, how to compile them ...), can you point a review document about the current library techniques on the various architectures?
