  • Is it possible to produce a small preview or thumbnail image of a Crystal report in code?

    I'm using Crystal to display the reports in my project, and I'd like to be able to display a small preview or thumbnail image of the report to the user when he or she is picking a report to display from my UI. Is there any way to produce these thumbnails dynamically from code? The user has the option to add or remove reports by adding or removing them from the reports folder, so just making all the thumbnail images by hand isn't really an option.

  • How to pass non-fatal warnings from a library

    A library function parses a file and returns an object. If a parser encounters unknown data, missing values etc., it shouldn't throw an exception and stop parsing (because this is not fatal), but there should be a way to pass information about these things to a caller (so that warnings can be displayed in the UI, for example). How can these warning be returned? I'm thinking of passing a callback function/object into the library, are there any other possible solutions?

  • Couchdb failing test suite on Linux

    Hi I've been trying to install CouchDB on my webfusion virtual server. I followed the latest instructions from the webfusion forum (see: http://forum.webfaction.com/viewtopic.php?id=2355 ) and it runs (just) Futon is very sluggish and I get 502 errors. Anyway when I run the test suite it fails on multiple tests. Webfaction support have been great but don't have erlang experience to interpret the error logs. Can anyone help me know what might be wrong? Test suite result: basics, all_docs, attachments, attachments_multipart, attachment_names, compact, config, conflicts, delayed_commits, design_docs, design_options all the errors are: Exception raised: {"error":"unknown","reason":"\u000d\u000a502 Bad Gateway\u000d\u000a\u000d\u000a<\h1502 Bad Gateway\u000d\u000a nginx\u000d\u000a\u000d\u000a\u000d\u000a"} except for 'compact; which also has: Assertion failed: xhr.responseText == "This is a base64 encoded text" Assertion failed: xhr.getResponseHeader("Content-Type") == "text/plain" I'm stumped. Have the super class create all the header component and open the components to the sub class, the sub class will access to component's setText method to update the text? or Have abstract method in super class to create the components, sub class will implement these methods to create the component.     I have some mod rewrite rules that test for the presence of a file on various NFS mounts and I would like that the tests occur randomly, as a very rudimentary way to distribute load. Can I randomize this on each request? I understand this is an odd request but I need a creative solution to some unforeseen downtime. On a side note, do I need to redeclare RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/(.+)$ each time like I have done? Thanks

However this is still in Preview 2 and hasn't been updated since March 2009. Is this project dead in the water? If so, what alternatives do we have for creating .NET-based REST services? (Some are suggesting using ASP.NET MVC, which we're already using for our UI layer)

  • Plesk command working in manual script, not in cronjob

    Hi, In order to install a hosting plan, I use Plesk's commands in SSH as specified in their official guide. When typed directly in SSH (Putty), it works perfectly. The line is as follows with obviously values hard coded when in CLI: /usr/local/psa/bin/domain --create '.$url.' -owner mynamehere -ip '.IP_SERVER_PLESK.' -status enabled -hosting true -hst_type phys -login '.$ftp_user.' -passwd '.$ftp_pw.' -www false -php true -php_safe_mode false -hard_quota 100M I then put that request in a php script that does other things after hosting is installed. Now for the weird part: when calling that script from CLI it also works fine, I do a ./myscript.php and it installs the hosting, then sends emails etc. However after I create a cronjob to have that same script called regularly, then the Plesk command fails. The cronjob is started in Plesk as */15 * * * * /usr/bin/php /home/scripts/myscript.php and it works fine for everything BUT the Plesk hosting install, that returns "Unable to read Control Panel configuration file" and therefore does not install the domain hosting. Still this is the same script that I call manually ! On that server are the PHP used to call a cronjob and the one used in CLI different ? What do I miss, help greatly appreciated ! Regards.

    I need a lightbox plugin that is styled similar to FancyBox but will allow me to add text to the same white background as the image. Lightweight because I don't want many features as it's going to be added to an already heavy JS page. Preferably without Ajax features as I'll be handling this myself. Therefore I'm ruling out the use of Thickbox, Fancybox and jQuery UI. Basically I want the plugin to be a currently supported light-box jQuery plug-in that handles all the cross browser styling issues which I can then customise.
