Hi, I am on a Mac running Mac OS X 10.6.3 and Xcode 3.2.1 64-Bit and I was wondering if it was possible to compile a C program with multiple .c files in Xcode.
Thanks in advance!
I have a python script that ends with running a program (iexpress.exe) in a dos prompt.
The program that runs in dos prompt, uses a dir called workdir.
After the program has finished in the dos prompt I would like python to delete the dir.
I have just made a simple solution of putting a delay of 30sec:
time.sleep(30)
removeall(workdir)
os.rmdir(workdir)
But how should I do it, if python should delete the dir right after the process has finished?
I'm having major trouble with my desktop. OS Windows XP Professional. All the files have become access-denied overnight. I unchecked the file sharing option, I tried resetting the user in security settings, but still no luck.
Anyone have any other tricks to try?!
Thanks!
Is it possible (on any reasonable OS, preferably Linux) to swap the contents of two memory pages by only modifying the page table and not actually moving any data?
The motivation is a dense matrix transpose. If the data were blocked by page size it would be possible to transpose the data within a page (fits in cache) then swap pages to move the blocks into their final place. A large matrix would have many many pages moved, so hopefully flushing the TLB wouldn't cause trouble.
Hai,
i were working in Windows xp. last week I changed my OS to Windows 7.The project i have done in Vb.net(2008) . While running class not registered error comes. In another computer its works well. Why it comes.
Is it possible to detect all the hotkeys registered by the OS as well as software applications currently running? Any native or managed approach on the Windows platform? I know that the RegisterHotKey function returns false if the hotkey is already registered, but what I am looking for is an approach, method, etc. that will give me a list of registered hotkeys. Looping all possible combinations with RegisterHotKey does not sound like a good idea. Anything more efficient?
Since CoreData has become available for the iPhone in OS 3.0, is it meant to be the answer to data persistence and replace all need for direct SQLite?
What reasons exist to still use SQLite? What are advantages/disadvantages of SQLite vs. CoreData?
How can I compile the GCC Compiler so that I can pull the entire thing over to another system and use the program? I don't mind pulling in other files as well, but is there a way to gather all the required system libs as well? The OS and Arch will remain constant across the different systems, but one may contain Slackware where the other contains Debian.
I want to get the "free memory" of a bunch of servers like this:
def get_mem(servername):
res = os.popen('ssh %s "grep MemFree /proc/meminfo | sed \'s/[^0-9]//g\'"' % servername)
return res.read().strip()
since this can be threaded I want to do something like that:
import threading
thread1 = threading.Thread(target=get_mem, args=("server01", ))
thread1.start()
But now: how can I access the return value(s) of the get_mem functions?
Do I really need to go the full fledged way creating a class MemThread(threading.Thread) and overwriting __init__ and __run__?
Hi. my macbook pro is on the fritz! I bought a new imac because i couldn't afford the new laptop. Is it possible for me to take a disc image of a macbook pro and have it all work on a new imac with a newer OS. I really just want to keep Photoshop (yes, I did not buy it so do not have the insatllers...)

Hi all,
I am getting an warning while building my source code as follows:
/* com.apple.ibtool.document.warnings */
/Users/biranchi/Desktop/Hotlist v2.0/Classes/HLCheckinViewController.xib:6: warning: The separator style "Single Line Etched" is not supported on iPhone OS versions prior to 3.2.
What is this error due to ?
Thanks
I want to write text files with DOS/Windows line endings '\r\n' using python running on Linux. It seems to me that there must be a better way than manually putting a '\r\n' at the end of every line or using a line ending conversion utility. Ideally I would like to be able to do something like assign to os.linesep the separator that I want to use when writing the file. Or specify the line separator when I open the file.
For some reasons i always get the following whenever i log into my terminal:
: command not found
: command not found
: command not found
: command not found
: command not found
It's really a minor problem because everything is working fine, or at least everything what im using in the terminal. Still it would just look nicer without them.
Any help?
I'm running Mac OS 10.5.8 <= if this helps solving the problem

I just created my first MVC2 project using the standard template. I need to be able to change the default browser for my project to test in IE (I use chrome as the default on my OS).
Unfortunately, the right click on default.aspx suggestion which worked in MVC1 can't work with these new projects as they don't have that file.
Hi,
We are organizing a Linux 101 Workshop for undergrad and grad students. Can you share some ideas/topics that are must for people who are just starting with Linux.
Preconditions: No knowledge of Linux OS, philosophy and technical aspects (kernel, shell, commands)
Post conditions: A basic crash course of Linux which will give them a good start and answer some basic questions asked on it.
A little question about the listing in iphone os and some other applications, and possibly in android market.
When listing the apps, it fills the list in an automatic process, when reaching or is near to reach the end.
My question is: How is that written in iphone applications. But the main question is: Is that possible to make for firefox users with javascript, ajax or possibly any other language?

Hi -
I upgraded to Emacs 23 a while back and when I did the File, Edit, Options, and other menu options are not available on OS X Snow Leopard. Any ideas how to get them back?
Thanks!
Title says it. What's the best tool for viewing and editing a merge in Git? I'd like to get a 3-way merge view, with "mine", "theirs" and "output" in separate panels.
Also, instructions for invoking said tool would be great. (I still haven't figure out how to start kdiff3 in such a way that it doesn't give me an error)
edit: My OS is Ubuntu.
I am looking for a utility that gives me the ability to specify a binary file format and then interpret a file of bytes according to that format. (Something along the lines of the 010 Editor, but infinitely more cost-effective). Something that runs on Mac OS X would be preferred, but I'm interested to see what all is out there in general (while more of a hassle I'd be willing to run a tool on Windows if it were superior.)
What's your preference?
Just wondering what your comments are regarding the current trend as everything is moving to the web or even the cloud. The significance of an OS or desktop application is getting less attention than web application. So to those folks out there who still develop windows applications, such as WPF. Why still do it? Why not move to web programming? Silverlight instead for example...
I want to color badge files and folders based on the some condition in finder, what is the approach to achieve this in Mac OS X 10.6
I have checked this question: This only talk about the context menu in finder
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1651075/finder-plugin-in-snow-leopard
I have even checked: http://scplugin.tigris.org/ even they don't do color badging in 10.6 which is pending task.
Thanks in advance for your all help
