    if not (i_ReLaunch = 1 and (dt_enddate is not null)) How this epression will be evaluated in Oracle 10g when the input value of the i_ReLaunch = null and the value of the dt_enddate is not null it is entering the loop. according to the rules in normal c# and all it should not enter the loop as it will be as follows with the values. If( not(false and (true)) = if not( false) =if( true) which implies it should enters the loop But it is not happening Can someone let me know if i am wrong at any place

    Hi I have my own data structure written in C# like: public class ElectricScheme { public List<Element> Elements { get; set; } public List<Net> Nets { get; set; } } public class Element { public string IdName { get; set; } public string Func { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public BaseElementType Type { get; set; } public List<Pin> Pins { get; set; } } public class Pin { public string IdName { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public BasePinType PinType { get; set; } public BasePinDirection PinDirection { get; set; } } public class Net { public string IdName { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public List<Tuple<Element,Pin>> ConnectionPoints { get; set; } } Where Elements count ~19000, each element contain =3 Pin, Nets count ~20000, each net contain =3 pair (Element, Pin) Parse txt (file size ~17mb) file takes 5 minutes. Serilization / Deserialization by default serializer ~3 minutes. Load from DB 20 minutes and not loaded... I use Entity Framework like public ElectricScheme LoadScheme(int schemeId) { var eScheme = (from s in container.ElectricSchemesSet where s.IdElectricScheme.Equals(schemeId) select s).FirstOrDefault(); if (eScheme == null) return null; container.LoadProperty(eScheme, "Elements"); container.LoadProperty(eScheme, "Nets"); container.LoadProperty(eScheme, "Elements.Pins"); return eScheme; } The problem is dependencies between Element and Pin... (for ~19000 elements ~95000 pins) Any ideas?

The information should have EXACTLY five tables, it's a hint we were given. The tables listed are the definite table names. We were told to make assumptions based on this information: Customer Invoice is generated from customer orders (Order & Order/Product entities) Supplier Order is generated for products that are low in stock (Product entity) Assumptions A customer can place many orders but an order is placed by only one customer An order can be for many products and a product can be ordered many times A product is supplied by only one supplier, a supplier may supply many products This is one of my modules in university and my lecturer is all but useful, I'm really struggling so any help is really appreciated.

    I have a checkboxes on my site that when unchecked, update their row in in the db as unchecked, and if checked,update their row in the db as checked. I am creating an ifstatement that will commence with its command if checked, and not if unchecked. I have echoed the variable and it is holding the proper value (checked or unchecked) but not sure if I am syntactically correct on displaying the state of the row in the db.   • Rails using plural table names even though I told it to use singular

    I tried to run rake test:profile and I got this error: ... Table 'mcif2.accounts' doesn't exist: DELETE FROM `accounts` I know accounts doesn't exist. It's called account. I know Rails uses plural table names by default but here's what my config/environment.rb looks like: # Load the rails application require File.expand_path('../application', __FILE__) # Initialize the rails application McifRails::Application.initialize! ActiveRecord::Base.pluralize_table_names = false And here's what db/schema.rb looks like: ActiveRecord::Schema.define(:version => 0) do create_table "account", :force => true do |t| t.integer "customer_id", :limit => 8, :null => false t.string "account_number", :null => false t.integer "account_type_id", :limit => 8 t.date "open_date", :null => false So I don't understand why Rails still wants to call it accounts sometimes.     Hi All, i have a module and i am using node_load(array('nid' = arg(1))); now the problem is that this function keep getting its data for node_load from DB cache. how can i force this function to not use DB cache? Example my link is http://mydomain.com/node/344983 now: $node=node_load(array('nid'=arg(1)),null,true); echo $node-nid; output 435632 which is a randomly node id (available on the system) and everytime i ctrl+F5 my browser i get new nid!!     So I know the convention for naming M-M relationship tables in SQL is to have something like so: For tables User and Data the relationship table would be called UserData User_Data or something similar (from here) What happens then if you need to have multiple relationships between User and Data, representing each in its own table? I have a site I'm working on where I have two primary items and multiple independent M-M relationships between them. I know I could just use a single relationship table and have a field which determines the relationship type, but I'm not sure whether this is a good solution. Assuming I don't go that route, what naming convention should I follow to work around my original problem?

    I'm building an app which will allow a user to scan the barcode on a 'shelf', 'box' or 'product' which will then bring up that particular item or all the associated items. As these are all separate models with their own ID's, I need a global ID table. I was thinking of a polymorphic table called 'barcodes' barcodes id barcode_number barcodable Is there an easy way to do this? Or is polymorphic the best way?

  • .NET DB Query Without Allocations?

    I have been given the task of re-writing some libraries written in C# so that there are no allocations once startup is completed. I just got to one project that does some DB queries over an OdbcConnection every 30 seconds. I've always just used .ExecuteReader() which creates an OdbcDataReader. Is there any pattern (like the SocketAsyncEventArgs socket pattern) that lets you re-use your own OdbcDataReader? Or some other clever way to avoid allocations? I haven't bothered to learn LINQ since all the dbs at work are Oracle based and the last I checked, there was no official Linq To Oracle provider. But if there's a way to do this in Linq, I could use one of the third-party ones.

For example, if I search for a particular product, all the suppliers of that product will be displayed. I want to connect my supply field to different suppliers field in different tables so that when I search for a particular supply, all the suppliers for that supply will be shown. And if it is also possible to link the records into a pre-set template in excel. THANKS!
