    I have a javascript var that returns the value of a input text named "pro_barras", with the value of "pro_barras" I need to make a search in my database without submiting the page.     $.getScript("somescript.js", function() { alert('Load Complete'); }); Once loaded, is it cached or is it loaded again if referenced more than once? If an event depends on this file being loaded, will the event be delayed of fail/timeout in case the file takes longer to load or doesn't load?   • Using jquery to change checkbox status

    Hi everyone! I have a list of items that have checkboxes associated with them, and the items are beneath a list header, which also has a checkbox(for db purposes only) which is actually hidden from view. I need to make it so that if any of the checkboxes beneath the header is checked, then the header checkbox is checked as well. BUT I also need to make it so that if all of the checkboxes are unchecked, then the header one is unchecked...how hard is this going to be? This is how I have it setup now: if($('.childCheckBox').is(":checked")){ $('#parentBox').attr('checked', true); } Now I am thinking that if I were to do something where I add an else if clause: else if($('.proBox2').is(not)(":checked"){ alert("uncheck parent"); } But I don't know the correct syntax for is-not, or isn't, or even if there is anything that will do that. Are there any thoughts out there? I need the box to check if one is selected and uncheck if none are selected. Thanks!!

    Hello all, I have been reading StackOverflow for a while and now I have a question I cannot find an answer to. i am trying to fade a background and increase on img size on rollover. I have tried animate() and fadeTo(), however, the entire div fades. Do I need to absolute position my images over the div and not within it? img or img? Is that the only way to get items within a div to not fade along with the background? Thanks! Jason

If you have a plain html input type=text with a small width eg 20 and then type more characters than can be displayed, it shows the last characters you type.     I'm developing a touchscreen application that, aside from everything else, records the amount of times the screen is used so that the user can be reminded to clean the screen after a predefined number of clicks. I've got the click functions written nicely, all I need now is make sure the function is called on a click. I imagine $('*').click(function() { //do something }); would accomplish my goal, but is that the best way? Also, would that overwrite other click functions assigned to the elements?

  • jquery - sliding image group left and right (hiding the ones that are past a certain point)

    So I'm not really sure how to go about doing this at all. I've got an anchor on the left with id="left" and one on the right with id="right". On the hover event, the image thumbnails should start sliding left or right. If there's not enough thumbnails, there should be no sliding. It can only fit 4 images in between the left and right anchors. How can I hide all anchors that are not in between the left and right anchors? I want the images to actually slowly move left or right, not just be sudden. Any ideas? I know how to bind the events and such just fine. I just don't really now how to get started with the image placement.

    I am doing a mysql database search and retrieving some results via ajax livesearch using the example on w3schools and i want to manipulate those results (drag and drop them) but im having a problem because the script loads before you enter the search and get the results so it does absolutely nothing no the search results.
