  • How does one go about writing a virtual MIDI interface?

    I want to do some funky things with controlling MIDI streams, and I'd like to be able to pipe MIDI input into an application like Ableton or Reason. Presumably this involves some sort of driver level work? Ultimately I'd like to write my application in Python, so if there is some Python-based solution, I'd consider it. I'm perfectly fine with using C/C++, though, so that's not a problem.

  • Is there a way to have one project build another in Visual Studio?

    We are finally getting a source control system in place at work and I've been in charge of setting it up. I've read that it's usually good practice to not include binaries in source control so I haven't. However, we have two all-purpose utility projects (each in their own solution) that generate utility .dll's which are included in almost all of our other projects (all each in their own separate solutions). We add references to the utility dll from our projects. I would like to have our solutions set up in such a way that if the reference dll isn't built, the solution will build the dll for itself, much in the same way a make file checks for its dependencies and builds them when they're out of date or missing. I'm new to build processes with VS so try to keep the answers simple. Any links to general build process overview tutorials would be great too. Googleing for VS references returns a bunch of how-to add references links which is not exactly what I want.

  • How can one make a 'passthru' function in C++ using macros or metaprogramming?

    So I have a series of global functions, say: foo_f1(int a, int b, char *c); foo_f2(int a); foo_f3(char *a); I want to make a C++ wrapper around these, something like: MyFoo::f1(int a, int b, char* c); MyFoo::f2(int a); MyFoo::f3(char* a); There's about 40 functions like this, 35 of them I just want to pass through to the global function, the other 5 I want to do something different with. Ideally the implementation of MyFoo.cpp would be something like: PASSTHRU( f1, (int a, int b, char *c) ); PASSTHRU( f2, (int a) ); MyFoo::f3(char *a) { //do my own thing here } But I'm having trouble figuring out an elegant way to make the above PASSTHRU macro. What I really need is something like the mythical X getArgs() below: MyFoo::f1(int a, int b, char *c) { X args = getArgs(); args++; //skip past implicit this.. ::f1(args); //pass args to global function } But short of dropping into assembly I can't find a good implementation of getArgs().

    I am in a bit of a rut with a cURL issue. The post works greate, the data is POSTED just fine and received ok, but the url of the posted page never appears in the browser after the cURL session is executed, for example look at the following code: $ch = curl_init("http://localhost/eterniti/cart-step-1.php"); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, false); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, "error=1&em=$em&fname=$fname&lname=$lname&email1=$email1&email2=$email2&code=$code&area=$area&number=$num&mobile=$mobile&address1=$address1&address2=$address2&address3=$address3&suburb=$suburb&postcode=$postcode&country=$country"); curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); The post works fine and I am taken to the cart-step-1.php where I can process the posted data, HOWEVER the location in the URL address bar of the browser remains that of the script page, in this case proc_xxxxxx.php Any ideas how to get the URL address to reflect the page I am actually POSTED to?   • how do i grab text of multiple tags in an xml feed using one xpath expression?

    Im trying to parse an xml feed that looks something like this: <item> <title>item title</title> <link>item link</link> <description>item description</description> </item> I'm trying to find an xpath expression that will retrieve all the details of each item so that each item in the feed is contained within its own array or grouped in some way. I tried using //item/* but the tags are not grouped, although they are correctly ordered. Is there anyway of doing that? edit: [ [title1, link1, desc1], [title2, link2, desc2], [title3, link3, desc3] ]

    I using servlet and Apache ServletFileUpload that provides stream to uploaded image. All I want to do is to store that image to db and also store resized (I using JAI) version to db. How can I achieve this without saving image to drive. As I understand stream can be read only once. So I need to store whole image in memory? Is it expensive for performance? Or there are another way?

I tried to use ASTNode copyFd = rewriter.createCopyTarget(fd) to copy the field declaration, modify it, then add to field declaration list, but my modification on copyFd is not seen. In the database a child has a parent_id reference. This should be possible with observers, bindings or even through calculations but I have no clue where to start. Any help would be well appreciated.
