Hi everybody, I have a WCF service like this: [ServiceContract( SessionMode=SessionMode.Required)] public interface IService { [OperationContract(IsInitiating = true, IsTerminating = false)] void login(string id); [OperationContract(IsInitiating = false, IsTerminating = false)] string getdata(); } public class Service : IService { public void login(string hashedid) { if (username != "someusername" || password != "somepassword") { // can not get data } else { // can get data } } public string getdata() { return "these are data"; } } How can I write the method login and create the client application? Thanks you.

  • Calling Python from Ruby

    - by Yktula
Would it be possible to integrate Python and Ruby with some degree of transparency? I've looked at http://www.goto.info.waseda.ac.jp/~fukusima/ruby/python/doc/ , but it seems rather outdated. Perhaps this is not an appropriate approach, but would it be possible to generate a Ruby interface for Python's C API?

  • Managing per-user rc.d init scripts

    - by Steve Schnepp
I want to delegate SysV init scripts to each user. Like the SysV init, each item in ${HOME}/rc.d starting with S will be launched on server start-up with the start argument. The same for the server shut-down with the one starting with K and with the stop argument. I thought about scripting it myself, but maybe there is already some kind of implementation out there1. In summary it would be a script in /etc/init.d/ that iterates through all the users and launches runparts as the user on the relevant scripts. The platform here is a Linux (Debian flavour), but I think the solution would be quite portable among various Unix-like platforms. Update: The point here is for users to be able to create their own init scripts that should be launch on their behalf when the system boots up. As Dan Carley pointed out, the services won't be able to access any system asset (priviledged ports, system logs, ...). 1. This way I don't have to think that much about all the subtle security implications such as script timeouts for example...

  • How to send hashed data in SOAP request body?

    - by understack
    I want to imitate following request using Zend_Soap_Client for this wsdl. <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:clr="http://schemas.microsoft.com/soap/encoding/clr/1.0" SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"> <SOAP-ENV:Header> <h3:__MethodSignature xsi:type="SOAP-ENC:methodSignature" xmlns:h3="http://schemas.microsoft.com/clr/soap/messageProperties" SOAP-ENC:root="1" xmlns:a2="http://schemas.microsoft.com/clr/ns/System.Collections">xsd:string a2:Hashtable</h3:__MethodSignature> </SOAP-ENV:Header> <SOAP-ENV:Body> <i4:ReturnDataSet id="ref-1" xmlns:i4="http://schemas.microsoft.com/clr/nsassem/Interface.IRptSchedule/Interface"> <sProc id="ref-5">BU</sProc> <ht href="#ref-6"/> </i4:ReturnDataSet><br/> <a2:Hashtable id="ref-6" xmlns:a2="http://schemas.microsoft.com/clr/ns/System.Collections"> <LoadFactor>0.72</LoadFactor> <Version>1</Version> <Comparer xsi:null="1"/> <HashCodeProvider xsi:null="1"/> <HashSize>11</HashSize> <Keys href="#ref-7"/> <Values href="#ref-8"/> </a2:Hashtable> <SOAP-ENC:Array id="ref-7" SOAP-ENC:arrayType="xsd:anyType[1]"> <item id="ref-9" xsi:type="SOAP-ENC:string">@AppName</item> </SOAP-ENC:Array><br/> <SOAP-ENC:Array id="ref-8" SOAP-ENC:arrayType="xsd:anyType[1]"> <item id="ref-10" xsi:type="SOAP-ENC:string">AAGENT</item> </SOAP-ENC:Array> </SOAP-ENV:Body> </SOAP-ENV:Envelope> It seems somehow I've to send hashed "ref-7" and "ref-8" array embedded inside body? How can I do this? Function ReturnDataSet takes two parameters, how can I send additional "ref-7" and "ref-8" array data? $client = new SoapClient($wsdl_url, array('soap_version' => SOAP_1_1)); $result = $client->ReturnDataset("BU", $ht); I don't know how to set $ht, so that hashed data is sent as different body entry. Thanks.

  • Easy to use web-based reporting tool

    - by SuperFurryToad
I'm looking for recommendations for an easy to use reporting/business intelligence tool that can interface with an sql server or access database. It can be web-based or a desktop tool. Ideally it would be freeware or low cost, and easy to use for users who are not that technically savvy (below the level of someone who can generate reports and complicated queries in Access). Any tools I've seen so far (such as Crystal Reports) are either too expensive or too complicated to use for non-power users.

  • NSMutableArray can't be added to

    - by Dan Ray
I've had this sort of problem before, and it didn't get a satisfactory answer. I have a viewcontroller with a property called "counties" that is an NSMutableArray. I'm going to drill down a navigation screen to a view that is about selecting the counties for a geographical search. So the search page drills down to the "select counties" page. I pass NSMutableArray *counties to the second controller as I push the second one on the navigation stack. I actually set that second controller's "selectedCounties" property (also an NSMutableArray) with a pointer to my first controller's "counties", as you'll see below. When I go to addObject to that, though, I get this: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: '*** -[NSCFArray insertObject:atIndex:]: mutating method sent to immutable object' Here's my code: in SearchViewController.h: @interface SearchViewController : UIViewController { .... NSMutableArray *counties; } .... @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *counties; in SearchViewController.m: - (void)getLocationsView { [keywordField resignFirstResponder]; SearchLocationsViewController *locationsController = [[SearchLocationsViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"SearchLocationsView" bundle:nil]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:locationsController animated:YES]; [locationsController setSelectedCounties:self.counties]; [locationsController release]; } in SearchLocationsViewController.h: @interface EventsSearchLocationsViewController : UIViewController <UITableViewDelegate, UITableViewDataSource> { ... NSMutableArray *selectedCounties; } ... @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *selectedCounties; in SearchLocationsViewController.m (the point here is, we're toggling each element of a table being active or not in the list of selected counties): -(void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath]; if ([self.selectedCounties containsObject:[self.counties objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]]) { //we're deselcting! [self.selectedCounties removeObject:[self.counties objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]]; cell.accessoryView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"red_check_inactive.png"]]; } else { [self.selectedCounties addObject:[self.counties objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]]; cell.accessoryView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"red_check_active.png"]]; } [tableView deselectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:YES]; } We die at [self.selectedCounties addObject.... there. Now, when I NSLog myself [self.selectedCounties class], it tells me it's an NSCFArray. How does this happen? I understand about class bundles (or I THINK I do anyway), but this is explicitly a specific type, and it's losing it subclassing at some point in a way that kills the whole thing. I just completely don't understand why that would happen.

  • Calling method after view has loaded

    - by iamdadude
My iPhone app allows for users to type in their usernames and passwords so that they can login. When they login once, their usernames and passwords are saved so that users don't have to type it in again. My problem is, when the app starts again, it immediately starts logging them in, leaving the interface completely black. How would I go about calling my login method AFTER all the UI methods are loaded?

  • How to read cell data in excel and output to command prompt

    - by Max Ollerenshaw
Hi All, I'm a sys admin and I am trying to learn how to use powershell... I have never done any type of scripting or coding before and I have been teaching myself online by learning from the technet script centre and online forums. What I am trying to accomplish is to open an excel spreadsheet get information from it (usernames and password) and then output it into the command prompt in powershell. When ever I try to do this I get an Exception calling "InvokeMember" anyway, here is the code I have so far: function Invoke([object]$m, [string]$method, $parameters) { $m.PSBase.GetType().InvokeMember( $method, [Reflection.BindingFlags]::InvokeMethod, $null, $m, $parameters,$ciUS ) } $ciUS = [System.Globalization.CultureInfo]'en-US' $objExcel = New-Object -comobject Excel.Application $objExcel.Visible = $False $objExcel.DisplayAlerts = $False $objWorkbook = Invoke $objExcel.Workbooks.Open "C:\PS\User Data.xls" Write-Host "Numer of worksheets: " $objWorkbook.Sheets.Count $objWorksheet = $objWorkbook.Worksheets.Item(1) Write-Host "Worksheet: " $objWorksheet.Name $Forename = $objWorksheet.Cells.Item(2,1).Text $Surname = $objWorksheet.Cells.Item(2,2).Text Write-Host "Forename: " $Forename Write-Host "Surname: " $Surname $objExcel.Quit() If (ps excel) { kill -name excel} I have read many different posts on forums and articles on how to try and get around the en-US problem but I cannot seem to get around it and hope that someone here can help! Here is the Exeption problem I mentioned: Exception calling "InvokeMember" with "6" argument(s): "Method 'System.Management.Automation.PSMethod.C:\PS\User Data.x ls' not found." At C:\PS\excel.ps1:3 char:33 + $m.PSBase.GetType().InvokeMember <<<< ( + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [], MethodInvocationException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : DotNetMethodException Numer of worksheets: You cannot call a method on a null-valued expression. At C:\PS\excel.ps1:18 char:45 + $objWorksheet = $objWorkbook.Worksheets.Item <<<< (1) + CategoryInfo : InvalidOperation: (Item:String) [], RuntimeException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : InvokeMethodOnNull Worksheet: You cannot call a method on a null-valued expression. At C:\PS\excel.ps1:21 char:37 + $Forename = $objWorksheet.Cells.Item <<<< (2,1).Text + CategoryInfo : InvalidOperation: (Item:String) [], RuntimeException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : InvokeMethodOnNull You cannot call a method on a null-valued expression. • Making(programming) virtual drives on windows XP

    - by Manux
Ahoy, I'd like to mount a "virtual drive" myself on Windows XP, I guess using the windows API. What I thought about would be like a server interface, meaning explorer.exe would send "queries", like, list directory, or get file through a pipe or whatever... I know some programs do it, maybe not the way I think it is done, but what the heck, if you know anything, enlighten me please!

  • Hibernate HQL with interfaces

    - by Benju
According to this section of the Hibernate documentation I should be able to query any java class in HQL http://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/core/3.3/reference/en/html/queryhql.html#queryhql-polymorphism Unfortunately when I run this query... "from Transaction trans where trans.envelopeId=:envelopeId" I get the message "Transaction is not mapped [from Transaction trans where trans.envelopeId=:envelopeId]". Transaction is an interface, I have to entity classes that implement it, I want on HQL query to return a Collection of type Transaction.

  • GCC ABI compatibility

    - by Fredrik Ullner
As far as I've understood, it is not possible to link libraries that use different versions of GCC's Application Binary Interface (ABI). Are there ABI changes to every version of GCC? Is it possible to link a library built with 4.3.1 if I use, say, GCC 4.3.2? Is there a matrix of some sort that lists all the ways I can combine GCC versions?

  • iPad App: Simple Launch View -> SplitViewController

    - by Aurimas
Hello, I want to create an iPad app that would have a simple view at launch with buttons to different components of the app. Each button then could open up a splitviewcontroller type views. (Interface similar to WebMD: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/webmd-for-ipad/id373185673?mt=8) I was reading online that Apple does not allow splitviewcontroller inside other controllers (like NavigationController). How do I solve this? Thanks!

  • Do console apps run faster than GUI apps?

    - by omair iqbal
I am relatively new to world of programming. I have a few performance questions: Do console apps run faster than apps with a graphical user interface? Are languages like C and Pascal faster than object oriented languages like C++ and Delphi? I know language speed depends more on compiler than on language itself, but do compilers for procedural languages produce faster code than OO ones (including C++ compilers that can produce C code)?

  • Choosing the right e-mail client

    - by CFP
Hi all, I'm currently using Outlook 2007 (under windows 7), but I much prefer free software (open source being the best of course), so I thought I'd ask for expert advice here. I thought it might be easier if I included a small "wanted list": I receive about 15 to 30 e-mails every day, but I have large archives (10'000 emails), which I frequently need to access. I usually open and close my mail program many times, so I'd like it to start pretty fast I cannot use an online mailbox, because I have too many email addresses (about 5: 1 for work, 1 for home, 1 semi-private, 1 for specific emails, and 1 for newletters By order of importance, the things I'd like my mail client to be able to: Efficiently categorize e-mails. Until now, I've mostly been using Outlook folders, because filtering by tags was not easy, but I'd rather one large list of mails, neatly tagged so I can easily filter. I'd love being able to select mails by tags (eg in a click or too (could be a tab) show all mails tagged with "software") Create "tagging rules", such as "if the mail was sent to this address, add this tag", or "if the body contains ..., add that tag" Sync contacts with Gmail, handle tasks (syncing with toodledo would be awesome), possibly provide a calendar Create e-mail templates, signatures... Other ideas: A timeline, scripting support, being able to import MS Outlook emails, provide a nice backup format... Thanks for sharing ideas and suggestions!

I am currently working on a wireless solution for my arduino and computer. I am trying to connect a Transmitter to my computer and a receiver to my arduino. I have seen a lot of examples with arduino to arduino communication but none for computer to arduino. What would I need to interface the transmitter with my computer, PIC? If anyone can provide any insight or any links it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
