  • How to calculate point along a curve?

    I am writing a custom animation for wpf and as a non math guy I have a couple questions... If I am given two Point3D's, the From and To, and assuming the origin is at 0,0,0 how do I calculate a curve between the two points? And once I have the curve 'plotted' and I know its length (how to do that too?) how can I calculate the x,y,z coords at some given distance along the line? Thanks!

    Hi, I know using External Tools options i can run a batch script or a cmd prompt. But here is what i need to do I want to be able to call a dos prompt inside visual studio, which must be interactive. That way i won't be outside visual studio and can run all my dos commands in it. Is it possible? Or can i extend the command window and capture the commands which are typed and process them using my custom code? Thanks

  • WinAPI magic (TCM_ADJUSTRECT message) and MONO runtime

    I'm trying to get the same result of a .NET application (see the link Hide TabControl buttons to manage stacked Panel controls for details), but using the MONO runtime instead of the MS .NET runtime. Pratically, when the custom control is executed using the MONO runtime, the underlying message is not sent to the control, causing the tab pages to be shown... There is a portable solution which is elegant as the linked one? If it is not possible, what are possible workarounds (apart from removing/adding tabs at runtime)?

However, I then don't know how to setup the loop to run off this object. Can anyone help?

  • IE7 doesn't render part of page until the window resizes or switch between tabs

    I have a problem with IE7. I have a fixed layout for keeping the header and a sidepanel fixed on a page leaving only the "main content" area switch can happily scroll it's content. This layout works perfectly fine for IE6 and IE8, but sometimes one page may start "hiding" the content that should be showing in the "main content" area. The page finishes loading just fine. For a split second IE7 will render the main content just fine and then it will immediately hide it from view.. somewhere.. It would also seem that it only experiences this problem when there is enough content to force the "main content" area to scroll. By resizing the window or switching to another open tab and back again will cause IE7 to show the page as it was intended. Note the same problem does occur with IE8 in compatibility mode, but the page is rendered correctly in IE8 mode. If need be I can attach the basic CSS styling I use, but I first want to see if this is a known issue with IE7. Does IE7 have issues with positioned layout and overflow scrolling that is sometimes likes to forgot to finish rendering the page correctly until some window redraw event forces to finish rendering? Please remember, this exact same layout is used across multiple pages in the site as it is set up in a master page. It is just (in this case) one page that is experiencing this problem. Other pages with the exact same layout do render correctly. Even if the main content is full enough to also scroll. UPDATE: A related question which doesn't have an answer at this point. LATE UPDATE: Adding example masterpage and css Please note this same layout is the same for all the pages in the application. My problem with IE7 only occurs on one such page. All other pages have happily render correctly in IE7. Just one page, using the exact same layout, has issues where it sometimes hides the content in the "work-space" div.     Why I have problem creating a class the inherite from str (or also int) class C(str): def __init__(self, a, b): str.__init__(self,a) self.b = b C("a", "B") TypeError: str() takes at most 1 argument (2 given) tha same appened if I try to use int instead of str, but it works with custom classes. I need to use __new__ instead of __init__? why?

  • Interface Builder Does Not Recognize Toolbar Buttons

    I created 4 UIButton's that are Custom and Plain in IB. I added a background image to them and then placed them onto my UIToolbar. I created IBActions and hooked up all of the buttons I did not create @property for the buttons, but 3/4 of them appear on my toolbar and they work. Why isnt my 4th button appearing? If I need to declare an @property for them, will it be a UIToolbarButtonItem or a UIButton?

  • Hashtable/Dictionary but with key composed of multiple values?

    Lets say I have an object that has stringProp1, stringProp2. I wish to store each combination of stringProp1, stringProp2 in a Dictionary. Initially I was storing the key as key = stringProp1+stringProp2 but this can actually cause a bug depending on the 2 values. Is the best solution for this problem to create a custom dictionary class or is there a better way using built-in .NET classes?

Additionally, I was not able to figure out any blogs which explains this API in breadth and depth of it. The knowledge gained by understanding the API can also be used for writing custom FxCop rules.   • overriding big popup on directions Google Maps

    I've happily implemented v2 of Google maps to my site without a hitch, I also successfully perform a drive directions using GDirections.load(). What I need to do is stop the popup of the mini map when you select a particular step in the routing directions. So when the user clicks on say "step 3", instead of the default popup showing a mini map, I'd like to add a custom icon to that position. Hope it makes sense Thanks in advance guys.

    It's my first time trying to make anything really interesting in C# and I was trying to make a simple form or game screen where the user could define a custom resolution/screen ratio etc. or to automatically detect the max screen size/ratio and output? its my first game, so I was wondering if it was possible or if there would be any major issues with such, rather than just setting it to 1366x768 (the resolution of all of my computers).   • IF Statement has strange behavior

    I've developed a 'custom' cout, so that I can display text to console and also print it to a log file. This cout class is passed a different integer on initialization, with the integer representing the verbosity level of the message. If the current verbosity level is greater then or equal to the verbosity level of the message, the message should print. The problem is, I have messages printing even when the current verbosity level is too low. I went ahead and debugged it, expecting to find the problem. Instead, I found multiple scenarios where my if statements are not working as expected. The statement if(ilralevel_passed <= ilralevel_set) will sometimes proceed even if ilralevel_set is LESS then ilralevel_passed. You can see this behavior in the following picture (my apologizes for using Twitpic) http://twitpic.com/1xtx4g/full. Notice how ilralevel_set is equal to zero, and ilralevel_passed is equal to one. Yet, the if statement has returned true and is now moving forward to pass the line to cout. I've never seen this type of behavior before and I'm not exactly sure how to proceed debugging it. I'm not able to isolate the behavior either -- it only occurs in certain parts of my program.
