• OS X won't see Windows 7 in network (and vice versa)

  I've enabled SMB sharing in OS X Lion and have added folders to share, it says 'Windows Sharing: On' with a green circle next to it (from the sharing window) and that to access the volume I will need to to go to \\192.168.0.17. It also says that the OS X should be visible as 'macbook' in the network. Both my WIndows 7 and OS X are connected to the same network, yet when I try to go to \\192.168.0.17 or from the Mac try to go to my Windows system (smb://192.168.0.6) the two OSs don't see each other. Any ideas why? Attempting to ping the Mac from Windows results in this output in the command prompt: Pinging 192.168.0.17 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 192.168.0.6: Destination host unreachable.   Trying to get a init.d/puma to work on Centos 6. It throws error runuser: user /var/log/puma.log does not exist I run this from the /srv/books/current folder but it fails. • Spring Framework 3 and session attributes

  I have form object that I set to request in GET request handler in my Spring controller. First time user enters to page, a new form object should be made and set to request. If user sends form, then form object is populated from request and now form object has all user givern attributes. Then form is validated and if validation is ok, then form is saved to database. If form is not validated, I want to save form object to session and then redirect to GET request handling page. When request is redirected to GET handler, then it should check if session contains form object.   I am using Telerik RadGridView in my project. I want to show image in column. Bit open ended huh... sorry, I think it might help if tell you what I'm acutally doing: I have an Action of Edit on a Controller called "Page". When I first see the form to change the Page's details everything loads up fine (binding to a "MyCmsPage" object). Then I click a button that generates a value for one of the MyCmsPage object's fields (MyCmsPage.SeoTitle). It generates fine and updates the object and I then return the action result with the newly modified page object and expect the relevant textbox (rendered using <%= Html.TextBox("seoTitle", page.SeoTitle)%) to be updated ... but alas it displays the value from the old model that was loaded. I've worked around it by using ModelState.Clear() but I need to know why / how it has worked so I'm not just doing it blindly. • Why do I get a DependencyProperty.UnsetValue when converting a value in a MultiBinding?

  I have an extremely simple IMultiValueConverter that simply OR's two values. There are no problems when I do not use the converter (other than not the logic I am aiming for, of course). Am I missing something? Stepping through the debugger shows that the InverseBoolConverter is properly inverting the value I pass it, but that value is then not being 'sent' to the MultiValueConverter.

• jQuery, jQuery UI, and Dual Licensed Plugins (Dual Licensing)

  OK I have read many posts regarding Dual Licensing using MIT and GPL licenses. But Im curious still, as the wording seems to be inclusive. Many of the Dual Licenses state that the software is licensed using "MIT AND GPL". The "AND" is what confuses me. It seems to me that the word "AND" in the terms, means you will be licensing the product using both licenses. Most of the posts, here on stackoverflow, state that you can license the software using one "OR" the other. JQuery specifically states "OR", whereas JQuery UI specifically States "AND". Another Instance of the "AND" would be JQGrid. Im not a lawyer but, it seems to me that a legal interpretation of this would state that use of the software would mean that your using the software under both licenses. Has anyone who has contacted a lawyer gotten clarification or a definitive answer as to what is true? Can you use Dual licensed software products that state "AND" in the terms of agreement under either license? EDITED: Guys here is specifically what Im talking about on jquery.org/license you see the following stated: You may use any jQuery project under the terms of either the MIT License or the GNU General Public License (GPL) Version 2 but in the header of Jquery's and Jquery UI library you see this: * Dual licensed under the MIT and GPL licenses. * http://docs.jquery.com/License The site says MIT or GPL but the license statement in the software says MIT and GPL.

  When a ValueConverter is used as part of a binding, one of the parameters to the Convert function is a System.Globalization.CultureInfo object. Can anyone tell me where this culture object gets its info from? I have some code that formats a date based on that culture. When i access my silverlight control which is hosted on my machine, it formats the date correctly (using the d/MM/yyyy format, which is set as the short date format on my machine). When i access the same control hosted on a different server (from my client machine), the date is being formatted as MM/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss - which is totally wrong. Coincidentally the regional settings on the server are set to the same as my client machine.   Hello, BindingSource.AddingNew is never called when I leave the cell of my datagrid. The DataGrid has as datasource the BindingSource which again has a "List" of "Customer". What does the BindingSource need to create a new Customer object and add it to the underlying ICustomerList ? Of course a interface has no constructor...   Background Working in .NET 2.0 Here, reflecting lists in general. I was originally using t.IsAssignableFrom(typeof(IEnumerable)) to detect if a Property I was traversing supported the IEnumerable Interface. (And thus I could cast the object to it safely) However this code was not evaluating to True when the object is a BindingList<T>. Next I tried to use t.IsSubclassOf(typeof(IEnumerable)) and didn't have any luck either. • WPF binding to ComboBox SelectedItem when reference not in ItemsSource.

  I'm binding the PageMediaSize collection of a PrintQueue to the ItemSource of a ComboBox (This works fine). Then I'm binding the SelectedItem of the ComboBox to the DefaultPrintTicket.PageMediaSize of the PrintQueue. While this will set the selected value to the DefaultPrintTicket.PageMediaSize just fine it does not set the initially selected value of the ComboBox to the initial value of DefaultPrintTicket.PageMediaSize This is because the DefaultPrintTicket.PageMediaSize reference does not match any of the references in the collection. However I don't want it to compare the objects by reference, but instead by value, but PageMediaSize does not override Equals (and I have no control over it). What I'd really like to do is setup a IComparable for the ComboBox to use, but I don't see any way to do that. I've tried to use a Converter, but I would need more than the value and I couldn't figured out how to pass the collection to the ConverterProperty. Any ideas on how to handle this problem.   Hi, I was trying to achieve master-detail with 2 ListBox, 2 DomainDataSource and a IValueConverter, when entering the page it throws the random error it does when your xaml is invalid: "AG_E_PARSER_BAD_PROPERTY_VALUE [Line: 24 Position: 61]" Which is in fact the start position of where I am binding the listbox selected item with converter to the parameter's value of my DomainDataSource.   I have a sql server 2005 table called ZipCode, which has all the US ZIPs in it. For each entry, it lists the zip, county, city, state, and several other details. Some zipcodes span multiple cities and some even span multiple counties. As a result, some zipcodes appear many times in the table. I am trying to query the table to see which zipcodes go across multiple counties. This is what I have so far: select zipcode, count(zipcode) as total, county, state from zipcode group by zipcode, county, state order by zipcode Of 19248 records in the result set, here are the first several records returned: zipcode total county state 00501 2 SUFFOLK NY 00544 2 SUFFOLK NY 00801 3 SAINT THOMAS VI 00802 3 SAINT THOMAS VI 00803 3 SAINT THOMAS VI 00804 3 SAINT THOMAS VI 00805 1 SAINT THOMAS VI 00820 2 SAINT CROIX VI 00821 1 SAINT CROIX VI 00822 1 SAINT CROIX VI 00823 2 SAINT CROIX VI 00824 2 SAINT CROIX VI In this particular example, each zip with a total of two or more happens to be in the table more than once, and it's because the "cityaliasname" (not shown) or some other column differs. I searched before posting this and I found many questions about counting records but I could not figure out how to apply them to my problem. • How do I store more information in a marker?

  Hello, I'm using Google Maps v3 and I build in the server side a json collection of location data. So when I receive that, I iterate through that collection and create a marker object for each and every one of them. For each of these markers, I bind them with the click event, so when the user clicks on a marker in the map, it displays an infoWindow with data related to the associated location. I have an array to store all the location got from the server that holds the retrieved json objects and their corresponding marker. The problem is that, even when I have an array that I can reference or iterate through, I need to not only get the marker object when the user clicks on them, but also the location object, that stores more information. I tried to mantain this array of objects and reference it from the calling object without success, because the function is called by the marker and not the location object. So I thought if it's possible to store more information in the google maps marker object like using a general purpose field. Please let me know if more information is needed. Thanks!

  I've been reading through quite a few articles on the 'this' keyword when using JavaScript objects and I'm still somewhat confused. I'm quite happy writing object orientated Javascript and I get around the 'this' issue by referring the full object path but I don't like the fact I still find 'this' confusing. I found a good answer here which helped me but I'm still not 100% sure. So, onto the example. Also, I'm not entirely sure why the first 'console.log' is being called at all? If I remove the call to the init function //nick.lowman.init() firebug still outputs 1. Window test.html, undefined.   I'm writing a program which will allow to load a specific managed .DLL file and play with it. Since I want the ability to unload the .DLL file, I'm creating two AppDomains - one for the app itself, the other for the currently loaded .DLL. Since most of the objects in the loaded .DLL do not serialize well, I'm creating a MarshalByRefObject wrapper class which will keep the object itself in its own AppDomain, and expose some reflection functions to the main application AppDomain. However when I try to invoke a method on the remote object I get stuck with an exception: Permission denied: cannot call non-public or static methods remotely. This is very strange, because I'm not using any non-public or static methods at all.   Now I've seen some questions like this, but it's not exactly what I want to ask, so for all those screaming duplicate, I apologize :). I've barely touched ASP.NET MVC but from what I understand there is no ViewState/ControlState... fine. So my question is what is the alternative to retaining a control's state? Do we go back to old school ASP where we might simulate what ASP.NET ViewState/ControlState does by creating hidden form inputs with the control's state, or with MVC, do we just assume AJAX always and retain all state client-side and make AJAX calls to update?   I am writing a script in Powershell to get the update information from each computer and correlate the information with another System which identifies updates by CVE ID. I have discovered that there is a "CVEIDs" property for an update in WSUS, which is documented in MSDN, but I have no idea how to access the property. Retrieving the CVE ID from WSUS is the key to this script, so I am hoping someone out there can help! • Why unchecked jQuery UI radio button's label appears "checked" after refresh in FF and IE?

  I've got 2 radio buttons with labels: button A is checked by default in HTML (checked="checked"). They're then processed with jQuery UI Radio Button. When I check button B and refresh the page, B's label is displayed as checked (it has CSS ui-state-active class). And A's label is displayed as unchecked, even though it's A button that is actually checked. It happens in Firefox (3) and IE (8).
