  • Can I set a style for the content of an iframe from the main page?

    We have a page the embeds a Google Calendar in an iframe. Recently, a warning box div began appearing on the calendar that looks like this: <div id="warningBox" style="color:#aa0000;">Events from one or more calendars could not be shown here because you do not have the permission to view them.</div> Obviously the best solution here is to find the private events and remove them, but so far the search for those events has proved fruitless. This calendar is an aggregate of several calendars, including a few we don't control (ie weather). We're still looking, but in the meantime, I would like to try to hide that div. I know that iframes enforce the separation between the pages, such that the child page is pretty much a law unto itself. But surely there must be some way to set a style on an element inside the frame?

    Hi Folks, Is there a tool out there to measure the actual Render time of an element(s) on a page? I don't mean download time of the resources, but the actual time the browser took to render something. I know that this time would vary based on factors on the client machine, but would still be very handy in knowing what the rendering engine takes a while to load. I would imagine this should be a useful utility since web apps are becoming pretty client heavy now. Any thoughts?

Since it's in flash, we do not worry about Javascript, we do not support non-javascript users. What is the safest (meaning it's 100% sure it gets called) X-browser way to call php script to close session, make some db changes, etc.? Thank you

    I'm fairly new to jQuery and I really can't get my head around this one. I'm trying to select <a href="contact"><div id="res">Reserveren</div></a>.   • JavaScript: List global variables in IE

    I'm trying to get the instance name of my class. The way I do this is I loop through all global objects and compare it with the this pointer. It works in Chrome and FF, but in IE, it doesn't. The problem seems to be the global variables don't seem to be in window. How can I loop through the global variables in IE ?   • In order to bypass a website's login screen, can you load a link with a username and password?

    I am relatively new to web development, and I was hoping I could get some pointers about the feasibility of a feature I would like to implement. Is it possible to have a url link that you can click on, that can contain login credentials for the website it is linking to, so as to bypass that websites login screen? In other words, can I make a link from my website to facebook, that would allow me to login right in to my facebook, from any computer? Meaning, if I don't have cookies to store my login info in, is it possible to login still? This is just a conceptual question, so any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

    I am really stuck with modifying a .swf file. I just downloaded a SWF file somewhere and I want to remove all objects and animations - everything except the logo ripple effect. How can I do that? Or is it impossible? I didn't work with Flash before and this is my first time. Can you help me with that? If not, could I just get some hints or a demo on how I can do that?
