  • this.select() and javascript events on forms

    - by aloishis89
    I have a form box that I want to be always selected. I was able to get it to select everything in the box when it is clicked (using onFocus="this.select()") but I want it to be selected 100% of the time. The text in the box will be always changing, so I tried using onChange="this.select()" but that didn't work. Here's what I have: <form> <input type="text" id="txt1" size="30" maxlength="1" onkeyup="showHint(this.value)" onFocus="this.select()" onBlur="this.select()" onChange="this.select()" value="Click here, then press a key"/> </form> Basically I just tried to call everything in hopes that something would work, but it is still acting as if only onFocus="this.select()" is there. By the way, this is for controlling something via keyboard, which is why the maxlength is only 1. I want it to be always selected so that when new key are pressed, the last command will be changed without having to use backspace.

The output of the ajax is: <li class="hd_item"> <img title="Backyard Brawl" alt="Backyard Brawl" src="games/normal_icons/1844.png" id="hd_icon"> <span class="hd_caption"> <h1>Backyard Brawl</h1> <p id="hd_description">In this game you pick a player and beat each other up with ...</p> <p id="hd_stat">Added: <br>2009-12-14</p><a href="/dirtpilegames/index.php?ground=games&amp;action=play&amp;dig=backyard-brawl">PLAY</a> </span> </li> The problem that I am having is the javascript is not working on the ajax output. • How do I make these fields autopopulate from the database?

    - by dmanexe
    I have an array, which holds values like this: $items_pool = Array ( [0] => Array ( [id] => 1 [quantity] => 1 ) [1] => Array ( [id] => 2 [quantity] => 1 ) [2] => Array ( [id] => 72 [quantity] => 6 ) [3] => Array ( [id] => 4 [quantity] => 1 ) [4] => Array ( [id] => 5 [quantity] => 1 ) [5] => Array ( [id] => 7 [quantity] => 1 ) [6] => Array ( [id] => 8 [quantity] => 1 ) [7] => Array ( [id] => 9 [quantity] => 1 ) [8] => Array ( [id] => 19 [quantity] => 1 ) [9] => Array ( [id] => 20 [quantity] => 1 ) [10] => Array ( [id] => 22 [quantity] => 1 ) [11] => Array ( [id] => 29 [quantity] => 0 ) ) Next, I have a form that I am trying to populate. It loops through the item database, prints out all the possible items, and checks the ones that are already present in $items_pool. <?php foreach ($items['items_poolpackage']->result() as $item): ?> <input type="checkbox" name="measure[<?=$item->id?>][checkmark]" value="<?=$item->id?>"> <?php endforeach; ?> I know what logically I'm trying to accomplish here, but I can't figure out the programming. What I'm looking for, written loosely is something like this (not real code): <input type="checkbox" name="measure[<?=$item->id?>][checkmark]" value="<?=$item->id?>" <?php if ($items_pool['$item->id']) { echo "SELECTED"; } else { }?>> Specifically this conditional loop through the array, through all the key values (the ID) and if there's a match, the checkbox is selected. <?php if ($items_pool['$item->id']) { echo "SELECTED"; } else { }?> I understand from a loop structured like this that it may mean a lot of 'extra' processing. TL;DR - I need to echo within a loop if the item going through the loop exists within another array.

  • How to not write the full url in javascript ?

    - by Axel
    Hi, I did a Mod rewrite for my website so the URLs looks like this : http://www.mydomain.com/health/54856 http://www.mydomain.com/economy/strategy/911025/ http://www.mydomain.com/tags/obama/new So, the problem is that i make AJAX calls to a file here : http://www.mydomain.com/login.php And i don't want to write the FULL url or even use ../ trick because there isn't a fixed number of folders. So, what i want now, is something worked for my code to access the login.php from the root whatever the domain name is : $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://www.mydomain.com/login.php" });

  • Can someone help me with m Django localization?

    - by alex
    I have a template with has text in it. It's located in /templates under my project directory. I'm trying to do Japanese now. I create a directory called "locale" in my project directory. Then, I set up this in my settings: gettext = lambda s: s LANGUAGES = ( ('de', gettext('German')), ('en', gettext('English')), ('ja', gettext('Japanese')), ) After that, I run this command: django-admin.py makemessages -l ja The only problem is, this doesn't work! In my locale/ja/LC_MESSAGES/django.po: Isn't it supposed to scan my templates with .html extension and grab all the strings? # SOME DESCRIPTIVE TITLE. # Copyright (C) YEAR THE PACKAGE'S COPYRIGHT HOLDER # This file is distributed under the same license as the PACKAGE package. # FIRST AUTHOR <EMAIL@ADDRESS>, YEAR. # #, fuzzy msgid "" msgstr "" "Project-Id-Version: PACKAGE VERSION\n" "Report-Msgid-Bugs-To: \n" "POT-Creation-Date: 2010-05-20 22:45+0000\n" "PO-Revision-Date: YEAR-MO-DA HO:MI+ZONE\n" "Last-Translator: FULL NAME <EMAIL@ADDRESS>\n" "Language-Team: LANGUAGE <[email protected]>\n" "MIME-Version: 1.0\n" "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8\n" "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit\n" #: settings.py:101 msgid "German" msgstr "" #: settings.py:102 msgid "English" msgstr "" #: settings.py:103 msgid "Japanese" msgstr ""

  • Add centered text to the middle of a <hr/>-like line

    - by Brian M. Hunt
    I'm wondering what options one has in xhtml 1.0 strict to create a line on both sides of text like-so: Section one ----------------------- Next section ----------------------- Section two I've thought of doing some fancy things like this: <div style="float:left; width: 44%;"><hr/></div> <div style="float:right; width: 44%;"><hr/></div> Next section Or alternatively, because the above has problems with alignment (both vertical and horizontal): <table><tr> <td style="width:47%"><hr/></td> <td style="vertical-align:middle; text-align: center">Next section</td> <td style="width:47%"><hr/></td> </tr></table> However both options feel 'fudgy', and I'd be much obliged if you happened to have seen this before and know of an elegant solution. Thank you for reading. Brian

  • Styling a result set

    - by aepheus
    Perhaps this is not the proper place to ask this question, if that is the case, please direct me to the correct venue. I'm looking for research, guides, any kind of information pertaining to the structuring and styling of results sets; data which comes back from a search, or when looking at content in a list view. Links would be appreciated, but opinion and commentary are also valued.

  • jQuery/Javascript to replace broken images

    - by Dan Lord
    I have a web page that includes a bunch of images. Sometimes the image isn't available so a broken image is displayed in the clients browser. How do I use jQuery to get the set of images, filter it to broken images then replace the src? --I thought it would be easier to do this with Jquery, but It turned out much easier to just use a pure javascript solution. i.e the one provided by Prestaul

  • How to MakeTable ReadOnly including contents like images

    - by GustlyWind
    I have a table which has two text boxes and a image beside it to click and open a popup. In read-only mode based on condition I am able to make text boxes read-only but images are not becoming read-only.One solution I had is the anchor tag associated with image calls for JavaScript where I can check for a dummy click when it is in read-only mode. The problem here is the function is common and effects everywhere. So is there a way to make the entire table read-only so that no extra workaround needs to done. Edited for code <table> <tr> <td class="lightbg" colspan='4'>&nbsp; Expires:<input type="TEXT" value="" id="element1" name="expireDate" size="10" maxlength="20" class="" onChange="javascript:validateDateEntry('element1',true);;"> Period:<input type="TEXT" value="" id="element2" name="refershDate" size="10" maxlength="20" class="" onChange="javascript:validateDateEntry('element2',true);;"> &nbsp; <a href="javascript:doCalendar('element1');"> <img src="/PWM/images/images_2006/calendarbtn.gif" border="0" alt="Click to select date from calendar" align="absmiddle"> </a> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan='4'><b>*</b>Times are in the WFM Server's Time Zone.</td></tr> </table> Thanks

  • Textarea Adding Space To Beginning of Text?

    I'm having a strange problem in that I have php inserting text into a <textarea> and the <textarea> is adding one white space to the top of my text. I created an example page to display the problem... here it the code behind the page. <textarea style="width:600px;height:100px;"><?php get_film_info('main description'); ?></textarea> <br> <textarea id="mainDescription style="width:600px;height:100px;">Text just typed in</textarea> <br> <?php get_film_info('main description'); ?> You can see that without the <textarea> tag, the text does not include the indent. My database also reflects no indent, as well as the php output outside of the <textarea>... Any clue what could be going on? the sample page -J
