Hi Guys
I'm looking for a way to print / save flex graphs, preferably without changing the flex code.Is this possible to to from the client with some kind of JavaScript library.If I need to change the flex,is ALIVEPDF the way to go (converting content to pdf first) or are there simpler solutions to this.
Thanks
I have put in some controls to allow users to resize my Flash app via Javascript:
document.getElementById("flashApp").height*=1.25;
document.getElementById("flashApp").width*=1.25;
This works great in IE/Safari, but is ignored in Firefox. I know it's talking the the flash app and gets and sets the height/width vars ok, but the same code run in FireFox ignores the scaling. (It's not the DOC spec issue)
Any thoughts?
Bill
By design I need an input element typed text but I do not need an input element typed submit. I want to submit what's written in the input element once the enter key pressed. How would I do that in JavaScript? Do I need tags and other stuff or could I do it without them (just using )?
I am interested if which would be the best place to detect the clients user-agent, client-side (javascript) or server-side? I brought up the question due to the fact that some IE8 users are getting a message saying they're using IE6
There are many solutions suggested on Stack Overflow but i did not find it one that satisfy my requirements.
I was using Jquery Numeric plugin but i found that is not working (does not allow pasting) on FireFox 3.6 on Osx.
I'm searching a Jquery plugin or Javascript snippet that allow just Numeric Text on a Input Text field.
I have these requirements:
Should allow just numeric text
Should NOT allow punctuation (.,)
Should NOT allow dashed text (-)
Should allow pasting just for numeric text
Multibrowser
Multiplatform
Hi,
I have a url like http://www.example.com/blah/th.html
I need a javascript function to give me the 'th' value from that.
All my urls have the same format (2 letter filenames, with .html extension).
I want it to be a safe function, so if someone passes in an empty url it doesn't break.
I know how to check for length, but I should be checking for null to right?
I want to enable comment posting on my page, so i need to execute some html encoding before post is sent and inserted into a database.
What is the ideal side for this?
Sever side(I work with asp.net) or client side (javascript)?
I know that in Javascript document.location.href = "#my_id" tells the browser to display the same page starting from element with id="my_id".
In this case, the address that appears in the address bar is in the following format: my_page_address#my_id
Is this the only method to refer to a specific place on a page ?
I'm looking for a method that will not show my_id in the address bar.
Write a JavaScript that has two text input; one for name and one for phone number. It also has two buttons: Reset and Submit.
The name should be in the format: (LastName, FirstName, MiddleInitial.)
The phone number should be in the format (ddd-ddd-dddd)
The input validation happens when a change is done to one of the two text inputs (onChange event).
I am trying to fire the asp.net button click event from javascript. Its working fine in IE, but the same code is not working on Chrome, please help me. Here is the js code,

I'm able to get two videos to play sequentially, (and without pause!) with this code from Apple, (see section 2-4)...
http://developer.apple.com/safari/library/documentation/AudioVideo/Conceptual/Using_HTML5_Audio_Video/ControllingMediaWithJavaScript/ControllingMediaWithJavaScript.html
...Yet completely lost as to how to play a 3rd or 5th video. Trouble is I'm a Javascript noob :-(, so if you figure this out please share as much of your code as possible.
Thanks much!
I am working on a custom CRM form with numerous checkboxes, organized by sections. I would like to implement a 'select all' feature to the form and am trying to understand how to format the JavaScript. My research thus far has pointed me to the possibility of using a FOR statement to iterate through all of the elements in the section I want to process, setting their values accordingly, but am unsure of which document.getElements ... method to utilize.
I'm writing an iPhone web app, and I want to automatically focus a text field when the page is loaded, bringing up the keyboard. The usual Javascript:
input.focus();
doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas?
I have a font resize function on my page which increases the font size via javascript for the entire page.
This works fine in most browsers except IE. When decreasing the font size after increasing it, the select boxes new height does not decrease, even though the font size is decreasing on it. Instead the smaller font appears to be padded with white space.
Any ideas as to what IE is doing here, and a work around?
Is there a way to monitor AJAX requests in the Chrome browser? I tried firebug lite, and though it seems to work for some things (javascript errors and such), the XHR tab doesn't seem to do anything.
Are there any alternatives?

Is there anyway to prevent flash files (swf) that are embeded within a webpage from opening a browser window? Eg. prevent the links within a flash file from opening new windows.
Possibly with javascript/jquery?
