• Permissions denied on apache rewrite module virtual host configuration

  All of a sudden I keep getting "Permissions denied" on apache 2 virtualhost once we moved it to its own conf file. I have tried all the suggestions I have found here but none work. Please can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? • .htaccess rewrite rule to add a string in the middle of the URL

  Using a .htaccess rewrite rule, I need to add "?q=" before the path on any URL's containing the word "imagecache" Therefore, if the URL is: http://mysite.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/myimage.jpg ...then it will really try: http://mysite.com/?q=sites/default/files/imagecache/myimage.jpg But that will ONLY happen if the URL contains "imagecache." Otherwise, it does no rewriting. Also, this will only happen if /sites/default/files/imagecache/myimage.jpg isn't already an existing image file. I believe I can do that using: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f ...right? It's just the first part that I can't figure out.

• Rails cookie session sharing and "www.example.com" or "example.com" problem

  When people access my app on www.example.com and log in, they get a cookie. I'm using the cookie option to store session on Rails. Accessing example.com (without the www), they must log in again, because Firefox does not recognize the previous session. So, what do you think is the best way to avoid this? The problem I'm facing now is that the traffic is properly routed throught the fcgi file, but the file itself shows up as plain text in the browser.   I want to replace calls like this: www.mysite.com/sub/file.php?param1=x&param2=http://www.someurl.com with: www.mysite.com/sub/param1/param2 Param 1 is an integer number Param 2 is a url I wrote this rewrite rule in htaccess: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \/sub\/ RewriteRule sub\/([0-9]+)\/(.*)$ sub\/file.php?param1=$2&param2=$1 [L] Unfortunately param2 (the URL) starts with http:/www.someurl.com instead of http://www.someurl.com (note the single slash). Any idea what causes it? When I call the same file with same parameters in the format www.mysite.com/sub/file.php?param1=x&param2=http://www.someurl.com , param2 does appear OK so it must be something with the rewrite rule.

  Hello I am running my django project from subfolder of a website. Lets say the address where my project is meant to open from is. http://example.com/myproject/ the myproject folder is root folder for my user account. In that folder i have fcgi script that starts my project. The .htaccess file in the folder contains this: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ mysite.fcgi/$1 [QSA,L] The trouble is, that at some cases, instead of redireting user to page like http://example.com/myproject/social/someurl/ it redirects to http://example.com/social/someurl/ which does not work. What i want to know is how to fix this problem. Is this django problem and i should change it with urconf and add myproject to all urls, or should i do this with .htaccess? • Rewriting subdomain to subfolder with htaccess

  I'm attempting to use .htaccess in the root folder of an Ubuntu/Apache2 server in order to mask a subdomain to subfolder and I keep getting a 500 Internal Error. I know that I'm doing something stupidly wrong and it is some silly error causing the problem. I've checked all of the similar threads on SO and online and whenever I try their advice the 500 continues. Here's my code. RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^admin\.mydomain\.com.*$ RewriteRule (.*) intranet/$1 [L] What I want to occur is that if a user visits admin.mydomain.com they will get the contents of the folder admin.mydomain.com/intranet/ but their URL bar will still be admin.mydomain.com. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? In addition, some of the threads online talked about possible problems with this system. Is this the best way of doing this masking, should I be using a vhost setup?

• How to setup .htaccess to rewrite to different folder

  I'm moving my site to a new host but I need to have my current server continue to handle requests (not all files can be moved to the new server). So I added a parked domain to my old server (old.mydomain.com) and I want all requests to it to be written to the files from the old site. My old site (mydomain.com) was hosted internally in a folder (/public_html/mydomain/) and I want all requests to old.mydomain.com to be rewritten to the same folder. So if mydomain.com/blog was internally at /public_html/mydomain/blog I now want old.mydomain.com/blog also to reach /public_html/mydomain/blog. Here is the .htaccess that I'm trying to use: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^old\.mydomain\.com/* RewriteRule ^(.*)$ mydomain/$1 [NC,L] but for some reason as soon as I add the $1 in the rewrite rule I get an internal error.   I'm new to CodeIgniter and routing. I have a Login controller whose index() loads up a view to enter a username/password. In the view, the form has action="login/authenticate". Login-authenticate() determines if the login is valid or not. If it's valid, redirect('lobby'), if not redirect('login') routes.php: $route['default_controller'] = "login" config.php: $config['base_url'] = "http://localhost/dts/"; $config['index_page'] = "index.php"; The problem is that when i go to http://localhost/dts/ , click login, I am correctly (?) redirected to http://localhost/dts/login/authenticate but the browser says Object not found!. But when I go to http://localhost/dts/index.php/ (with trailing slash), it works correctly (I get redirected to http://localhost/dts/index.php/login/authenticate, and am logged in) I tried removing "index.php" by using a .htaccess: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|images|robots\.txt) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L] and it would no longer open even the http://localhost/dts/ I'm confused.. what's going on?

I want to rewrite the images to where they show as from my website. I've tried: rewritecond %{HTTP_HOST} !^image4.example.com$ rewriterule ^([^/]+)$ http://image4.mywebsite.com/$1 [L,R=301] but it doesn't work. I don't know much about Mod Rewrite. any help would be appreciated, and no I'm not hijacking the images, i have permission to use them and the bandwidth. Thanks -Brad

• 301 Redirects, and the correct regex to go with it

  Hi Guys, I have several URLs that I want to redirect to the same place, however these are dynamic URLs. The structure is something like this: http://www.mysite.com/declaration/list?[query_string] What I think would be ideal for this situation is to use some regex in my .htaccess file to redirect all these links to the sites home page. I was wondering if someone could help me with the regex for this situation. So far, I have this, but it doesn't work: RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^(.*)$ RewriteRule ^/declaration/list$ http://www.mysite.com/$ [R=301,L] My regex is weak to say the least, something I want to, and am trying to learn. • Needs some help with an apache mod-rewrite issue

  I've modified my .htaccess file to have the following statement RewriteCond $1 !^index.php$ RewriteRule ^/?([^/]+)$ index.php?c=home&m=details&seo=$1 [L,NS] This allows me to use product URL's like this: http://domain.com/product_name However, when trying to access a file at the same level as index.php, it always calls the RewriteRule above and errors out. I need to be able to access files like below, but each URL currently attempts to load index.php. http://domain.com/about.htm http://domain.com/terms.htm http://domain.com/robots.txt etc Any suggestions on how I can modify my htaccess file to get this to work correctly?

I currently run the site with fastcgi.   This is my controller: class Timesheet extends Controller { ... function index() { //loads view with a form that submits to "timesheet/change_date" } function summary() { //loads view with a form that submits to "timesheet/change_week" } function change_date() { ... redirect('timesheet'); } function change_week() { ... redirect('timesheet/summary'); } ... } The first form is located at http://localhost/dts/index.php/timesheet and when I submit the change_date form, it correctly goes thru the change_date() function and re-loads http://localhost/dts/index.php/timesheet correctly. However, the second form is located at http://localhost/dts/index.php/timesheet/summary, and when I submit the change-week form, it goes thru the change_week() function but goes to http://localhost/dts/index.php/timesheet/timesheet/change_week. Notice the word timesheet is repeated. When I submit the form again, another timesheet is added. What's wrong and how do I improve my code? • Apache rewrite to add a directory to REQUEST_URI not working on localhost running wamp.

  I'm running wamp on Vista (Apache v2.2.11) and have projects setup such that http://localhost/projectx is the base directory for projectx. Now, I want that requests for http://localhost/projectx/somepage/extra will rewrite to http://localhost/projectx/PUBLIC/somepage/extra To that end I have a file in C:\wamp\www\projectx\.htacces that is this simple: RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /projectx RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/PUBLIC RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /PUBLIC$1 [L] I can't for the life of me figure out why this doesn't work. The error I'm getting is "The requested URL /PUBLIC was not found on this server". Thanks.

  I have a script myscript.inc.php which handles all urls that look like /script-blah I accomplish this by using following .htaccess RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^script-(.*)$ myscript.inc.php?s=$1 [QSA,L] However users could also access it this way by typing /myscript.inc.php?s=blah I would like to prevent that. I tried <Files ~ "\.inc\.php$"> Order deny,allow Deny from all </Files> and RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \.inc\.php RewriteRule .* - [F,L,NS] They both prevent users from viewing /myscript.inc.php?s=blah but they also cause /script-blah to return 403... Is there a way to do this correctly?

• Is there a way to force HTTPS protocol in a Kohana 2.3 site?

  I've got a site built on top of Kohana 2.3 which I now have to make all links https. I set this in application/config/config.php. $config['site_protocol'] = 'https'; This makes all links on the site use the https protocol. Except, when I first enter the site via http, it will not automatically forward to https. Is there a way to make Kohana do this, or do I just need to do some custom coding?
