  • How to scan local network (LAN) for connected devices (MacOS)

    I'm basically looking for something like this but available on Mac. I am trying to connect a new workstation to our wireless multifunction printer and I'm having a hell of a time getting the device to spit out an IP for me to connect to. Is there a way I can scan the network somehow? If it makes a difference, the new workstation is using MacOS X 10.6 Thanks in advance :)

  • "vagrant up" fails with "NS_ERROR_CALL_FAILED" error [on hold]

    I am following the basic "Getting Started" guide: http://docs.vagrantup.com/v2/getting-started/index.html I ran vagrant init <etc> followed by vagrant up, but it fails with "NS_ERROR_CALL_FAILED" error.     I am interested in simultaneously connecting two Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP 24-inch Widescreen Flat Panels to my Microsoft Surface Pro. Currently I am attempting to utilize a StarTech Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort / DVI / HDMI Multifunction Adapter by connecting one monitor to the adapter via HDMI and the other via DisplayPort. Unfortunately, I am only getting video on the Surface itself and the monitor connected via DisplayPort. Is this StarTech adapter capable of simultaneously driving two monitors? Is the Surface itself even capable of driving two monitors?

    Started off with a Server Core install to which I then added the GUI with: Install-WindowsFeature Server-Gui-Shell, Server-Gui-Mgmt-Infra So far so good, I then removed the GUI again to get back to text only mode with: Remove-WindowsFeature Server-Gui-Shell, Server-Gui-Mgmt-Infra Now at this point I should beable to use SConfig option 12 to reinstall the GUI again but that SConfig option is missing: "12) Restore Graphical User Interface (GUI)" not present, how can I get SConfig to display this option? Has anyone else noticed that this option is missing. Thanks, Nick

    I recently installed kloxo on a brand new VPS and set up mail servers and everything. i am using courier-imap on my VPS and i have verified it is running however i cannot for the life of me get into mail with round cube, i keep getting the error connection to storage server failed, is this an issue with my database. I have tried granting all privileges to the round cube user in MySQL and restarted qmail several times. Any ideas?

    After checking out a project from SVN, I am getting the following prompt in eclipse any time I try to change anything in the code: The compilation unit is not in the build path of the project There is no Java build path option when I right click on the project. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot or fix the issue will be greatly appreciated. Note: I tried changing the project file manually but now my project files are being displayed in separate directories inside the trunk.

    I installed Windows 7 with the QWERTY keyboard layout, but have recently started using DVORAK layout so I changed it from Control Panel - Regional and Language Settings and it set DVORAK to default keyboard layout. Recently I added a password to log into the administrator account, the problem is that this password field is set to the QWERTY keyboard layout. When I log into Windows the keyboard layout switches back to DVORAK. How can I set the password field on the log in screen to use the DVORAK layout

  • How to recycle/reuse/continue Time Machine for a new Mac?

    I have been backing up a MacBook Pro to an external hard disk with Time Machine. I got a new laptop, used the firewire connector to pull the universe across to it, and started it up. It does not want to just pick up where I left off with the backups; it wants to start a new backup sequence and thus I need a ton of additional disk space. Does anyone know a way to force it to just incrementally back up to the existing backup set?
