  • Multiple file selection for an upload control

    Hi, I was trying to do something like this: http://www.element-it.com/Examples/MultiPowUpload/AdvancedHTMLinterface.html But in my search for information I found that is not possible to perform multiple file selection with simple HTML and JavaScript (and JSP in the server side). There is a way to do this without using Flash? A third party component you could recommend? Thanks.

Across the web and here on Stack Overflow as well, I came across the Array approach to concatenate strings: var a = []; a.push(arg1,arg,2....); console.log(a.join('')); I know that this approach is better than the simple console.log(arg1 + arg2 +.....); for reasons of skipping creating intermediate objects but how does it fair better against : arg1.concat(arg2,arg3.....);

  • Absolute positioning error in IE6 with dropdown list

    I have a div, that I'm using JavaScript to position, so that when someone hovers over an image, it displays a tooltip message that follows along with the pointer. (Using tooltip-0.2.js ) The problem is that when a user goes to the page in IE6, a disabled dropdown box on the page is showing through this absolutely positioned tooltip when it tries to hover over it. How can I get this dropdownlist to know its proper place? ;)

  • Drupal - special css file if JS is turned off?

    I'm building a Drupal theme up and want to know if there is a Drupalish way to add a css file only if the user has js turned off. This would ideally go in the theme.info file to keep it neat! Something like this would be ideal: conditional-stylesheets[if no javascript][all][] = nojs.css If this isn't possible then I'm going to keep all the css that needs JS out of the css files, and add it dynamically using JS but this seems a bit messy... Any ideas?

  • Cross site scripting help?

    I have a piece of javascript executing on a jetty server which is sending a XMLHTTPRequest to a scoket on another server(wamp server). The request gets sent to the socket, however the XHR response seems to be getting blocked. My only thoughts on this is it may be an issue with XSS(cross site scripting). Is there a way in which i could enable cross site scripting for this particular request or is there something else i should be doing? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi, I'm a college student majoring in computer science. I know java and will be learning C++ the next couple years at school. I want to add another language to my repertoire and have gotten conflicting advice: Ruby, Python, Perl, JavaScript, PHP, AJAX, among others. I was wondering what everyone's opinions were on the relative value of each of these languages in the job market, the ease of learning of each of the languages, and just personal preferences when it comes to the languages mentioned above.     This should be really simple but I'm a javascript/jQuery rookie, so here we go: With the following code I can select a certain element var user = $(".ui-selected .user-name").html(); But if there are multiple elements with the above classes, only the first value gets selected. What I would like to accomplish is a variable with all the elements seperated by a , like: user1,user2,user3 ... etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
