  • Data loss when downloading data from LDAP server

    - by Ricky D'Amelio
Hi there. This question comes from a previous one I asked about handling NSData objects: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2453785/converting-nsdata-to-an-nsstring-representation-is-failing. I have reached the point where I am taking an NSImage, turning it into NSData and uploading those data bytes to the LDAP server. I am doing this like so; //connected successfully to LDAP server above... struct berval photo_berval; struct berval *jpegPhoto_values[2]; photo_berval.bv_len = [photo length]; photo_berval.bv_val = [photo bytes]; jpegPhoto_values[0] = &photo_berval; jpegPhoto_values[1] = NULL; mod.mod_type = "jpegPhoto"; mod.mod_op = LDAP_MOD_REPLACE|LDAP_MOD_BVALUES; mod.mod_bvalues = jpegPhoto_values; mods[0] = &mod; mods[1] = NULL; //perform the modify operation rc = ldap_modify_ext_s(ld, givenModifyEntry, mods, NULL, NULL); That happens with no errors, and you can see a big blob of data when you're in the command line. My problem is, when I go to access the same data at a later stage, I am getting an image file back that's about 120 times smaller than the original image. //find the jpegPhoto attribute photoA = ldap_first_attribute(ld, photoE, &photoBer); while (strcasecmp(photoA, "jpegphoto") != 0) { photoA = ldap_next_attribute(ld, photoE, photoBer); } //get the value of the attribute if ((list_of_photos = ldap_get_values_len(ld, photoE, photoA)) != NULL) { //get the first JPEG photo_data = *list_of_photos[0]; selectedPictureData = [NSData dataWithBytes:&photo_data length:sizeof(photo_data)]; [selectedPictureData writeToFile:@"/Users/username/Desktop/Photo 2.jpg" atomically:YES]; NSLog (@"%@", selectedPictureData); Has anyone successfully done this before or can anyone see what I might be doing wrong? I appreciate anyone's help. Sorry to post so many questions! Ricky.

  • Java Memory Model: reordering and concurrent locks

    - by Steffen Heil
Hi The java meomry model mandates that synchronize blocks that synchronize on the same monitor enforce a before-after-realtion on the variables modified within those blocks. Example: // in thread A synchronized( lock ) { x = true; } // in thread B synchronized( lock ) { System.out.println( x ); } In this case it is garanteed that thread B will see x==true as long as thread A already passed that synchronized-block. Now I am in the process to rewrite lots of code to use the more flexible (and said to be faster) locks in java.util.concurrent, especially the ReentrantReadWriteLock. So the example looks like this: // in thread A synchronized( lock ) { lock.writeLock().lock(); x = true; lock.writeLock().unlock(); } // in thread B synchronized( lock ) { lock.readLock().lock(); System.out.println( x ); lock.readLock().unlock(); } However, I have not seen any hints within the memory model specification that such locks also imply the nessessary ordering. Looking into the implementation it seems to rely on the access to volatile variables inside AbstractQueuedSynchronizer (for the sun implementation at least). However this is not part of any specification and moreover access to non-volatile variables is not really condsidered covered by the memory barrier given by these variables, is it? So, here are my questions: Is it safe to assume the same ordering as with the "old" synchronized blocks? Is this documented somewhere? Is accessing any volatile variable a memory barrier for any other variable? Regards, Steffen

  • C# FileStream position is off after calling ReadLine()

    - by Cristi Diaconescu
I'm trying to read a (small-ish) file in chunks of a few lines at a time, and I need to return to the beginning of particular chunks. The problem is, after the very first call to streamReader.ReadLine(); the streamReader.BaseStream.Position property is set to the end of the file! Now I assume some caching is done in the backstage, but I was expecting this property to reflect the number of bytes that I used from that file. For instance, calling ReadLine() again will (naturally) return the next line in the file, which does not start at the position previously reported by streamReader.BaseStream.Position. My question is, how can I find the actual position where the 1st line ends, so I can return there later? I can only think of manually doing the bookkeeping, by adding the lengths of the strings returned by ReadLine(), but even here there are a couple of caveats: ReadLine() strips the new-line character(s) which may have a variable length (is is '\n' ? is it "\r\n" ? etc) I'm not sure if this would work ok with variable-length characters ...so right now it seems like my only option is to rethink how I parse the file, so I don't have to rewind. If it helps, I open my file like this: using (var reader = new StreamReader( new FileStream(m_path, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read, FileShare.ReadWrite))) {...} Any suggestions?

  • JQuery how to resubmit form after ajax call success

    - by Steven Rosato
I am using JQuery to perform form submission through an ajax request. I use form.submit(function() { if( success ) { return true; } validate(); //proceeds to an ajax call return false; } On request success I want to either proceed with form submission or user callback. Therefore, if the user callback is undefined, I will submit the form on form validation success (from my validate function). config = { successCallback: function() { success = true; form.submit(); //does not work } }; validate = function() { $.ajax( ... success: function(data) { //code logic config.successCallback(); } ); }; The ajax success callback will call config.successCallback() and if it was never overridden by the user, it would proceed to normal form submission. I tried using an instance variable (success) to make sure 'return true' would proceed to default form submission. Unfortunately this is not working. It seems that the 'return false' statement that prevents default form submission will neglect any further submit calls even if an instance variable was set. It only works after clicking the submit button another time (that makes it twice for it to work). Is there any workaround for this. I want to both use a user callback when provided but proceed with default form submission when not, and since I am using an ajax function to validate the form, the ajax success callback is complicating things.

  • Suggest a good method with least lookup time complexity

    - by Amrish
I have a structure which has 3 identifier fields and one value field. I have a list of these objects. To give an analogy, the identifier fields are like the primary keys to the object. These 3 fields uniquely identify an object. Class { int a1; int a2; int a3; int value; }; I would be having a list of say 1000 object of this datatype. I need to check for specific values of these identity key values by passing values of a1, a2 and a3 to a lookup function which would check if any object with those specific values of a1, a2 and a3 is present and returns that value. What is the most effective way to implement this to achieve a best lookup time? One solution I could think of is to have a 3 dimensional matrix of length say 1000 and populate the value in it. This has a lookup time of O(1). But the disadvantages are. 1. I need to know the length of array. 2. For higher identity fields (say 20), then I will need a 20 dimension matrix which would be an overkill on the memory. For my actual implementation, I have 23 identity fields. Can you suggest a good way to store this data which would give me the best look up time?

  • Show alert on browser close but don't show alert while closing from logoff

    - by Neha Jain
    In my application when user logs out the browser is closed. And on browser close I am throwing an alert. Now what I want is if I directly close the browser window alert should come but if window is closed through logout alert should not come as I have shown another confirm message of logout. function closeEditorWarning(){ for (var i=0;i<childWindow.length;i++) { if (childWindow[i] && !childWindow[i].closed) childWindow[i].close(); if(i==0) { alert("This will close all open e-App applications"); } } window.close(); } window.onbeforeunload = closeEditorWarning; And this is my logout code $('#'+id).click(function(event){ event.preventDefault(); $('#centerContent').load('<%=request.getContextPath()%>/'+target); }); } else { $('#'+id).click(function(event){ event.preventDefault(); var r=confirm("logout"); if (r==true) { flag=true; for (var i=0;i<childWindow.length;i++) { if (childWindow[i] && !childWindow[i].closed) childWindow[i].close(); } window.close(); } else { } }); }

  • Excel 2007 file writer in C# results in a corrupt file

    - by Martin
Hi, I am using a BinaryReader to read an Excel 2007 file from an Exchange mailbox using a OWA, the file is then written to disk using a BinaryWriter. My problem is that the two files don't match when the writer finishes. Worse still Excel 2007 won't open the writen file. Previously Excel 2003 has had no problem with the solution below. And Excel 2007 doesn't have an issue if the file is an Excel 2003 format file, only if the file format is Excel 2007 (*.xlsx). BinaryReader: using(System.IO.Stream stream = resource.GetInputStream(attachedFiles[k].Address)) { using(System.IO.BinaryReader br = new System.IO.BinaryReader(stream)) { attachment.Data = new byte[attachedFiles[k].Size]; int bufPosn=0, len=0; while ((len = br.Read( attachment.Data, bufPosn, attachment.Data.Length-bufPosn )) > 0) { bufPosn += len; } br.Close(); } } BinaryWriter: FileStream fs = new FileStream(fileName, FileMode.Create); BinaryWriter binWriter = new BinaryWriter(fs); binWriter.Write( content, 0, content.Length ); binWriter.Close(); fs.Close(); Suggestions gratfully received.

  • How do I pass data from a BroadcastReceiver through to an Activity being started?

    - by Tom Hume
I've got an Android application which needs to be woken up sporadically throughout the day. To do this, I'm using the AlarmManager to set up a PendingIntent and have this trigger a BroadcastReceiver. This BroadcastReceiver then starts an Activity to bring the UI to the foreground. All of the above seems to work, in that the Activity launches itself correctly; but I'd like the BroadcastReceiver to notify the Activity that it was started by the alarm (as opposed to being started by the user). To do this I'm trying, from the onReceive() method of the BroadcastReceiver to set a variable in the extras bundle of the intent, thus: Intent i = new Intent(context, MyActivity.class); i.putExtra(wakeupKey, true); i.setFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK); context.startActivity(i); In the onResume() method of my Activity, I then look for the existence of this boolean variable: protected void onResume() { super.onResume(); String wakeupKey = "blah"; if (getIntent()!=null && getIntent().getExtras()!=null) Log.d("app", "onResume at " + System.currentTimeMillis() + ":" + getIntent().getExtras().getBoolean(wakeupKey)); else Log.d("app", "onResume at " + System.currentTimeMillis() + ": null"); } The getIntent().getExtras() call in onResume() always returns null - I don't seem to be able to pass any extras through at all in this bundle. If I use the same method to bind extras to the PendingIntent which triggers the BroadcastReceiver however, the extras come through just fine. Can anyone tell me what's different about passing a bundle from a BroadcastReceiver to an Activity, as opposed to passing the bundle from an Activity to a BroadcastReceiver? I fear I may be doing something very very obvious wrong here...

  • C# TCP Async EndReceive() throws InvalidOperationException ONLY on Windows XP 32-bit

    - by James Farmer
I have a simple C# Async Client using a .NET socket that waits for timed messages from a local Java server used for automating commands. The messages come in asynchronously and is written to a ring buffer. This implementation seems to work fine on Windows Vista/7/8 and OSX, but will randomly throw this exception while it's receiving a message from the local Java server: Unhandled Exception: System.InvalidOperationException: EndReceive can only be called once for each asynchronous operation.     at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.EndReceive(IAsyncResult asyncResult, SocketError& errorCode)     at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.EndReceive(IAsyncResult asyncResult)     at SocketTest.Controller.RecvAsyncCallback(IAsyncResult ar)     at System.Net.LazyAsyncResult.Complete(IntPtr userToken)     ... I've looked online for this error, but have found nothing really helpful. This is the code where it seems to break: /// <summary> /// Callback to receive socket data /// </summary> /// <param name="ar">AsyncResult to pass to End</param> private void RecvAsyncCallback(IAsyncResult ar) { // The exception will randomly happen on this call int bytes = _socket.EndReceive(_recvAsyncResult); // check for connection closed if (bytes == 0) { return; } _ringBuffer.Write(_buffer, 0, bytes); // Checks buffer CheckBuffer(); _recvAsyncResult = _sock.BeginReceive(_buffer, 0, _buffer.Length, SocketFlags.None, RecvAsyncCallback, null); } The error doesn't happen on any particular moment except in the middle of receiving a message. The message itself can be any length for this to happen, and the exception can happen right away, or sometimes even up to a minute of perfect communication. I'm pretty new with sockets and network communication, and I feel I might be missing something here. I've tested on at least 8 different computers, and the only similarity with the computers that throw this exception is that their OS is Windows XP 32-bit.

  • oracle pl/sql bug: can't put_line more than 2000 characters

    - by FrustratedWithFormsDesigner
Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon where dbms_output.put_line is unable to print more than 2000 characters at a time? Script is: set serveroutput on size 100000; declare big_str varchar2(2009); begin for i in 1..2009 loop big_str := big_str||'x'; end loop; dbms_output.put_line(length(big_str)); dbms_output.put_line(big_str); end; / I copied and pasted the output into an editor (Notepad++) which told me there were only 2000 characters, not 2009 which is what I think should have been pasted. This also happens with a few of my test scripts - only 2000 characters get printed. I have a workaround to print like this: dbms_output.put_line(length(big_str)); dbms_output.put_line(substr(big_str,1,1999)); dbms_output.put_line(substr(big_str,2000)); This adds new lines to the output, makes it hard to read when the text you're working with is preformatted. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it really a bug or some sort of obscure feature? Is there a better workaround? Is there any other information on this out there? Oracle version is: 10.2.0.3.0, using PL/SQL Developer (from Allround Automation).

  • fork() within a fork()

    - by codingfreak
Hi Is there any way to differentiate the child processes created by different fork() functions within a program. global variable i; SIGCHLD handler function() { i--; } handle() { fork() --> FORK2 } main() { while(1) { if(i<5) { i++; if( (fpid=fork())==0) --> FORK1 handle() else (fpid>0) ..... } } } Is there any way I can differentiate between child processes created by FORK1 and FORK2 ?? because I am trying to decrement the value of global variable 'i' in SIGCHLD handler function and it should be decremented only for the processes created by FORK1 .. I tried to use an array and save the process id [this code is placed in fpid0 part] of the child processes created by FORK1 and then decrement the value of 'i' only if the process id of dead child is within the array ... But this didn't work out as sometimes child processes dead so fastly that updating the array is not done perfectly and everything messed up. So is there any better solution for this problem ??

  • IIS as proxy to rails/mongrel - force a proxied host to generate REMOTE_USER

    - by rbn
Hello -- Using Application Request Routing I have IIS 7.5 set up as a reverse proxy to a Mongrel service which is serving a rails app. IIS is set up to use Windows Auth and is working but I cannot access the REMOTE_USER variable in the rails app to get at current user's identity. I have inspected the request object in rails and I don't have any other variables like LOGON_USER, HTTP_REMOTE_USER, AUTH_USER, etc. I am trying to find a way to inject the REMOTE_USER variable into Mongrel's server variables. This post describes what I am looking for using mod_rewrite on Apache but I am having trouble recreating this rule for iis. this is the rewrite rule from the post mentioned above for Apache RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{LA-U:REMOTE_USER} (.+) RewriteRule . - [E=RU:%1] Header add X-Forwarded-User %{RU}e I tried reproducing the rule in IIS and got a URL Rewrite Module error ("The condition's expression "%{LA-U:REMOTE_USER}" is invalid."). I know I'm probably using Apache syntax where IIS syntax is needed but am not sure how to proceed at this point. Any help greatly appreciated.

  • How can I turn a column name into a result value in SQL Server?

    - by Brennan
I have a table which has essentially boolean values in a legacy database. The column names are stored as string values in another table so I need to match the column names of one table to a string value in another table. I know there has to be a way to do this directly with SQL in SQL Server but it is beyond me. My initial thought was to use PIVOT but it is not enabled by default and enabling it would likely be a difficult process with pushing that change to the Production database. I would prefer to use what is enabled by default. I am considering using COALESCE to translate the boolean value to the string that value that I need. This will be a manual process. I think I will also use a table variable to insert the results of the first query into that variable and use those results to do the second query. I still have the problem that the columns are on a single row so I wish I could easily pivot the values to put the column names in the result set as strings. But if I could easily do that I could easily write the query with a sub-select. Any tips are welcome.

  • Best way to be able to pick multiple colors/designs of symbols dynamically from flash

    - by Cyprus106
Sorry the title's so convoluted... I must've tried for ten minutes to get a good, descriptive title! Basically, here's the scenario. Let's say a user can pick fifty different hat colors and styles to put on an avatar. The avatar can move his head around, so we'd need the same types of movements in the symbol for when that happens. Additionally, it gets which hat should be on the 'avatar' from a database. The problem is that we can't just make 50 different frames with a different hat on each. And each hat symbol will have the same movements, it'll just be different styles, colors and sizes. So how can I make one variable that is the HAT, that way we can just put the appropriate hat symbol into the variable and always be able to call Hat.gotoAndplay('tip_hat') or any other generic functions.... Does that make sense? Hope that's not too confusing. Sorry, I'm not great at the visual Flash stuff, but it's gotta be done! Thanks!

  • Improve speed of own debug visualizer for Delphi 2010

    - by netcodecz
I wrote Delphi debug visualizer for TDataSet to display values of current row, source + screenshot: http://delphi.netcode.cz/text/tdataset-debug-visualizer.aspx . Working good, but very slow. I did some optimalization (how to get fieldnames) but still for only 20 fields takes 10 seconds to show - very bad. Main problem seems to be slow IOTAThread90.Evaluate used by main code shown below, this procedure cost most of time, line with ** about 80% time. FExpression is name of TDataset in code. procedure TDataSetViewerFrame.mFillData; var iCount: Integer; I: Integer; // sw: TStopwatch; s: string; begin // sw := TStopwatch.StartNew; iCount := StrToIntDef(Evaluate(FExpression+'.Fields.Count'), 0); for I := 0 to iCount - 1 do begin s:= s + Format('%s.Fields[%d].FieldName+'',''+', [FExpression, I]); // FFields.Add(Evaluate(Format('%s.Fields[%d].FieldName', [FExpression, I]))); FValues.Add(Evaluate(Format('%s.Fields[%d].Value', [FExpression, I]))); //** end; if s<> '' then Delete(s, length(s)-4, 5); s := Evaluate(s); s:= Copy(s, 2, Length(s) -2); FFields.CommaText := s; { sw.Stop; s := sw.Elapsed; Application.MessageBox(Pchar(s), '');} end; Now I have no idea how to improve performance.

  • c#: how to read parts of a file? (DICOM)

    - by Xaisoft
I would like to read a DICOM file in C#. I don't want to do anything fancy, I just for now would like to know how to read in the elements, but first I would actually like to know how to read the header to see if is a valid DICOM file. It consists of Binary Data Elements. The first 128 bytes are unused (set to zero), followed by the string 'DICM'. This is followed by header information, which is organized into groups. A sample DICOM header First 128 bytes: unused DICOM format. Followed by the characters 'D','I','C','M' Followed by extra header information such as: 0002,0000, File Meta Elements Groups Len: 132 0002,0001, File Meta Info Version: 256 0002,0010, Transfer Syntax UID: 1.2.840.10008.1.2.1. 0008,0000, Identifying Group Length: 152 0008,0060, Modality: MR 0008,0070, Manufacturer: MRIcro In the above example, the header is organized into groups. The group 0002 hex is the file meta information group which contains 3 elements: one defines the group length, one stores the file version and the their stores the transfer syntax. Questions How to I read the header file and verify if it is a DICOM file by checking for the 'D','I','C','M' characters after the 128 byte preamble? How do I continue to parse the file reading the other parts of the data?

  • Can I include a NSUserDefault password test in AppDelegate to load a loginView?

I have a name and password in NSUserDefaults for login. I want to place a test in my AppDelegate.m class to test for presence and load a login/signup loginView.xib modally if there is no password or name stored in the app. Here is the pulling of the defaults: -(void)refreshFields { NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; usernameLabel.text = [defaults objectForKey:kUsernameKey]; passwordLabel.text = [defaults objectForKey:kPasswordKey]; Here is the tabcontroller loading part: - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { firstTab = [[FirstTab alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewStylePlain]; UINavigationController *firstNavigationController = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:firstTab]; [firstTab release]; secondTab = // EDITED FOR SPACE thirdTab = // EDITED FOR SPACE tabBarController = [[UITabBarController alloc] init]; tabBarController.viewControllers = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:firstNavigationController, secondNavigationController, thirdNavigationController, nil]; [window addSubview:tabBarController.view]; [firstNavigationController release]; [secondNavigationController release]; [thirdNavigationController release]; [self logout]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; Here is where the loginView.xib loads automatically: - (void)logout { loginViewController = [[LoginViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"LoginView" bundle:nil]; UINavigationController *loginNavigationController = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:loginViewController]; [loginViewController release]; [tabBarController presentModalViewController:loginNavigationController animated:YES]; [loginNavigationController release]; } I want to replace the above autoload with a test similar to below (that works) using IF-ELSE - (void)logout { if ([usernameLabel.text length] == 0 || [passwordLabel.text length] == 0) { loginViewController = [[LoginViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"LoginView" bundle:nil]; UINavigationController *loginNavigationController = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:loginViewController]; [loginViewController release]; [tabBarController presentModalViewController:loginNavigationController animated:YES]; [loginNavigationController release]; }else { [window addSubview:tabBarController.view];} Thanks in advance, I'm totally lost on this.

  • Calculation Expression Parser with Nesting and Variables in ActionScript

    - by yuletide
Hi There, I'm trying to enable dynamic fields in the configuration file for my mapping app, but I can't figure out how to parse the "equation" passed in by the user, at least not without writing a whole parser from scratch! I'm sure there is some easier way to do this, and so I'm asking for ideas! Basic idea: public var testString:String = "(#TOTPOP_CY#-#HISPOP_CY#)/#TOTPOP_CY#"; public var valueObject:Object = {TOTPOP_CY:1000, HISPOP_CY:100}; public function calcParse(eq:String):String { // do calculations return calculatedValue } So far, I was thinking of splitting the expression by either the operators, or maybe the variable tokens, but that gets rid of the parenthetical nesting. Alternatively, use a series of regex to search and replace each piece of the expression with its value, recursively running until only a number is left. But I don't think regex does math (i.e. replace "\d + \d" with the sum of the two numbers) Ideally, I'd just do a find/replace all variable names with their values, then run an eval(), but there's no eval in AS... eesh I downloaded some course materials for a course on compiler design, so maybe I'll just write a full-fledged calculator language and parser and port it over from the OTHER flex (the parser generator) :-D

  • Java & Maven generating -and using- my own archetype

    - by Random
Hello again! I have been busy in my project creating a webapp (in struts) that manages maven, using maven-2.2.1-uber.jar link text. The problem comes when the boss says it has to use some archetypes the company has created (so no predefined archetypes for you naughty boy!). So ok, I use the -DarchetypeRepository option (with ServletWrapper I get my complete web direction, becouse the repository will be inside the app), and the log seems to find it, but then the build fails -miserably- with this little text 'Build Failure - The defined artifact is not an archetype' as simple as that. Of course I have a lot of INFO lines that say abslutily nothig related. I have read the maven definitive guide searching for some kind of help, but it has been disapointing at best. My thoughts are thatmaybe I am missing in somewhere of all the folders tree some xml that actually sais maven that my pom.xml is an archetype not a project. But I really, really, can't find anything on the net or in the manuals that explains easy-handed how the archetype:generate (with special parameters) works and where I have to put every folder and/or file. So just to say my thoughts aloud (and hopefully you understand what I am trying to ask): I have a template where I do some xml changes (variables, etc...), then I have to call maen and do an archetype:generate with a variable project. The problem seems to be that my actual confuguration doesn't like what I am doing. After the generation of the archetype, witch luckly will create some directory trees and leave me a POM.xml somewhere I still have to do some variable changes and more xml manage stuff, so it whould be very kind from maven to don't destroy anything in this process. Any ideas why this maven-thing is not happly-ever-after asuming that my archetype is defintly an archetype? Allthought I think the code is ok, it could be wrong, as I am using maven-ubber and I call the actual CSMavenCli.main(String[, ClassWorld), I don't think it is the case this time. Thanks and all! :) Random.

  • How can i optimize this c# code?

    - by Pandiya Chendur
    I have converted my Datatable to json string use the following method... public string GetJSONString(DataTable Dt) { string[] StrDc = new string[Dt.Columns.Count]; string HeadStr = string.Empty; for (int i = 0; i < Dt.Columns.Count; i++) { StrDc[i] = Dt.Columns[i].Caption; HeadStr += "\"" + StrDc[i] + "\" : \"" + StrDc[i] + i.ToString() + "¾" + "\","; } HeadStr = HeadStr.Substring(0, HeadStr.Length - 1); StringBuilder Sb = new StringBuilder(); Sb.Append("{\"" + Dt.TableName + "\" : ["); for (int i = 0; i < Dt.Rows.Count; i++) { string TempStr = HeadStr; Sb.Append("{"); for (int j = 0; j < Dt.Columns.Count; j++) { if (Dt.Rows[i][j].ToString().Contains("'") == true) { Dt.Rows[i][j] = Dt.Rows[i][j].ToString().Replace("'", ""); } TempStr = TempStr.Replace(Dt.Columns[j] + j.ToString() + "¾", Dt.Rows[i][j].ToString()); } Sb.Append(TempStr + "},"); } Sb = new StringBuilder(Sb.ToString().Substring(0, Sb.ToString().Length - 1)); Sb.Append("]}"); return Sb.ToString(); } Is this fair enough or still there is margin for optimization to make it execute faster.... Any suggestion...

  • Different versions of JBoss on the same host

    - by Vladimir Bezugliy
I have JBoss 4 installed on my PC to directory C:\JBoss4 And environment variable JBOSS_HOME set to this directory: JBOSS_HOME=C:\JBoss4 I need to install JBoss 5.1 on the same PC. I installed it into C:\JBoss51 In order to start JBoss 5.1 on the same host where JBoss 4 was already started, I need to redefine properties jboss.home.dir, jboss.home.url, jboss.service.binding.set: C:\JBoss51\bin\run.sh -Djboss.home.dir=C:/JBoss51 \ -Djboss.home.url=file:/C:/JBoss51 \ -Djboss.service.binding.set=ports-01 But in C:\JBoss51\bin\run.sh I can see following code: … if [ "x$JBOSS_HOME" = "x" ]; then # get the full path (without any relative bits) JBOSS_HOME=`cd $DIRNAME/..; pwd` fi export JBOSS_HOME … runjar="$JBOSS_HOME/bin/run.jar" JBOSS_BOOT_CLASSPATH="$runjar" And this code does not depend either on jboss.home.dir or on jboss.home.dir. So when I start JBoss 5.1 script will use jar files from JBoss 4.3? Is it correct? Should I redefine environment variable JAVA_HOME when I start JBoss 5.1? In this case script will use correct jar files. Or if I redefined properties jboss.home.dir, jboss.home.url then JBoss will not use any variables set in run.sh? How does it works?

  • treeview loses data when page is being refreshed in asp.net

    - by Greg
Hi, I have a treeview and I written a code for his "treeNodePopulate" event: protected void ycActiveTree_TreeNodePopulate(object sender, TreeNodeEventArgs e) { if (Application["idList"] != null && e.Node.Depth == 0) { string[] words = ((String)Application["idList"]).Split(' '); // Yellow Card details TreeNode child = new TreeNode(""); // Go over all the yellow card details and populate the treeview for (int i = 1; i < words.Length; i++) { child.SelectAction = TreeNodeSelectAction.None; // Same yellow card if (words[i] != "*") { // End of details and start of point ip's if (words[i] == "$") { // Add the yellow card node TreeNode yellowCardNode = new TreeNode(child.Text); yellowCardNode.SelectAction = TreeNodeSelectAction.Expand; e.Node.ChildNodes.Add(yellowCardNode); child.Text = ""; } // yellow card details else { child.Text = child.Text + words[i] + " "; } } // End of yellow card else { child.PopulateOnDemand = false; child.SelectAction = TreeNodeSelectAction.None; // Populate the yellow card node e.Node.ChildNodes[e.Node.ChildNodes.Count - 1].ChildNodes.Add(child); TreeNode moveChild = new TreeNode("Move To Reviewed"); moveChild.PopulateOnDemand = false; moveChild.SelectAction = TreeNodeSelectAction.Select; e.Node.ChildNodes[e.Node.ChildNodes.Count - 1].ChildNodes.Add(moveChild); child = new TreeNode(""); } } Application["idList"] = null; } } I want the treenode to get the data from the Application variable and then nullify the Application variable so that the tree will take data from Applcation only if there is something in it (I put data into the application from another page and then redirect to this page) But when I refresh this page the data in the treenode isnt being saved. I mean after the refresh the Application is null so he isnt doing anything. The question is why is the data that I put in the treenode earlier isnt being saved? The "enableViewState" property is set to "true".. Thanks in advance, Greg

  • Reading from serial port with Boost Asio?

    - by trikri
Hi! I'm going to check for incoming messages (data packages) on the serial port, using Boost Asio. Each message will start with a header that is one byte long, and will specify which type of the message has been sent. Each different type of message has an own length. The function I'm about to write should check for new incoming messages continually, and when it finds one it should read it, and then some other function should parse it. I thought that the code might look something like this: void check_for_incoming_messages() { boost::asio::streambuf response; boost::system::error_code error; std::string s1, s2; if (boost::asio::read(port, response, boost::asio::transfer_at_least(0), error)) { s1 = streambuf_to_string(response); int msg_code = s1[0]; if (msg_code < 0 || msg_code >= NUM_MESSAGES) { // Handle error, invalid message header } if (boost::asio::read(port, response, boost::asio::transfer_at_least(message_lengths[msg_code]-s1.length()), error)) { s2 = streambuf_to_string(response); // Handle the content of s1 and s2 } else if (error != boost::asio::error::eof) { throw boost::system::system_error(error); } } else if (error != boost::asio::error::eof) { throw boost::system::system_error(error); } } Is boost::asio::streambuf is the right thing to use? And how do I extract the data from it so I can parse the message? I also want to know if I need to have a separate thread which only calls this function, so that it get called more often? Isn't there a risk for loosing data in between two calls to the function otherwise, because so much data comes in that it can't be stored in the serial ports memory? I'm using Qt as a widget toolkit and I don't really know how long time it needs to process all it's events.
