• Copying web part pages within SharePoint

  Hi, I'm trying to copy some web part pages (aspx) from one library into another. Reason is that I've got sites which are created dynamiccally. I also want to add some content (based on several rules) to those sites, which include aspx web part pages. The deployment works fine, but the web part pages are empty in the target site. As I've read in several blog posts, this has something to do with the ghosting of the files. Is there a way to literally copy all of the content in the ASPX to the site? The webparts aren't site or feature dependant, so the pages should work on every site. When I copy the pages with SPD, it works fine, but I don't understand how SPD does this.

• Is it possible to develop apps with Kendo UI to submit to iOS App Store?

  The number of platforms I have to develops apps for is increasing and It brings me lots of stress to learn new technologies for each target platform. I found out that Telerik's Kendo UI is very good to build websites that look and feel native on mobile platforms (e.g. iOS and Android). My question is, is it possible to build HTML5 apps to deploy them on iTunes App Store and Google Play? Please note that I am eager to know the possibility of creating apps (complete apps bundled in standard format of Apple and Google for distribution in their respective mobile app markets) but not websites.

• jQuery animation menu height

  Hey all i have the following jsfiddle Fiddle that i need some help on. When i have my mouse over it-it expands out to a static width but, depending on the text length, it grabs it by the inner's text $('.inner').height(). Problem being is that it goes a little too far beyond the last text list item and when i roll over any of the text in the menu box it slides back up a little. How can prevent it from (1) sliding back up and (2) have the exact height needed without even having the extra space at the bottom of the box for its height? • Sharepoint connected web parts question

  I have one web part (the provider) which displays insurance claims in a gridview. When user clicks on one this value(case number) is passed via IWebPartField interface to another web part(consumer) which displays detailed info about the claim. So far so good. I can select different claims in the provider and the details show up in the consumer just fine. The moment I add a TextBox to the consumer, the consumer no longer recognizes the case number passed. I need the user to be able to enter a value in the textbox and click a button to update that claim info. I can debug and attach to process and it looks like it is getting the case in the callback function, etc, but when it is setting parameters for the stored proc in CreateChildControls, it is null. Comment out the TextBox and it works fine. Any clues as to what is going on? Brand new to Sharepoint web parts...any help appreciated! thanks, PhilJ

• autocomplete issue with iScroll

  I am using jQuery Autocomplete on my jQUeryMobile application. It works perfect. Now I'm trying to use iScroll.js to scroll through the list of looked up items. Here is what I'am doing, http://jsfiddle.net/uXbKY/39/ The problem is, iscroll is applying only for the first item of the suggestion box, where as I'm not able to scroll through entire list.Please help me if I'm missing anything in my code.Please help me to acheive this using iScoll. I found one more way that we can use custom touch based scrollbar for autocomplete box http://jsfiddle.net/uXbKY/2/ but there is a issue that, the custom scrollbar appears only for first search and it disappears from the suggastion box when list get refreshed, Please suggest me if we can fix this, because both options are fine for me for using my autocomplete in ipad and android. or if anyone thinks there's a better way to do this than with iScroll and jScrollPane, you are wel-come I'm open to suggestions. • Reverse Engineer a web page

  Hi, I wish to reverse engineer any web-page into a logical representation of the page. For example, if a web page has a menu, then I want a logical menu structure perhaps in XML. If the webpage has an article, I want a article XML node, if it has a title for the article I want a title XML node. Basically, I want the logical form of the web-page without any of the user interface. This logical model could either be objects in code or XML it doesn't matter, the important part is that it has identified what everything on the page means.

• Special characters incongruence

  Hello I'm building a Spring MVC web application that runs on Tomcat 6.0.20 and JDK 1.6.0_19. When I send some special characters through an HTML form some of them are stored as question marks ? For example these symbols are stored correctly: €, á, é, í, ‰, etc But some symbols are replaced with ? like: £, ?, ? MySQL tables charset is utf-8. My jsp also use utf-8 <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8" %> I have included org.springframework.web.filter.CharacterEncodingFilter in web.xml as suggested here When I debug the POST request when sending 3 characters €a£ with firebug I get: %E2%82%ACa%E2%82%A4 which is correct since E2 82 AC is the code for € and E2 82 A4 is the code for £ but £ is stored as ? in the database. When I save £ directly into the database it is displayed correctly in the webpage. How can I fix this?

• Implement Combobox/Option Menu funcionality on an iPhone interface?

  I want to give a list of choices on an iPhone GUI that works like a Combobox/Option menu. It needs to display the current selection, but on tapping it you should be able to change the current selection which will trigger a refresh of the screen. The option menu is letting the user choose which category a search is being performed under. So there is a default category and there are about 6 other choices. Idea 1: Use a label or button and when clicked on a new screen overlays that has all 6 options in a tableview, clicking on one closes the overlay screen and goes back to the main page with the updated value displayed. Idea 2: Should I use a totally different but native iPhone GUI widget like a Navbar at the bottom of the screen to reflect the different options?

• Where can I find a control similar to the Firefox Rich List Box for use in my application?

  I'm trying to implement a control similar to Firefox's Rich List Box: However, I can only find the XUL implementation of this control, and I don't want to have to include a XUL processing engine in my application just to get a cool looking listbox. I've been trying to implement one on my own by customizing MFC's CListBox control, but am starting to realize it may take more time than I had intended. Before continuing to implement this control from scratch, I was wondering if anyone knew of a similar control that already exists, either commercial or open source. The main functionality I would like to have is: Small display for non selected items that expands when selected. Ability to add arbitrary controls to the expanded view. Preferably native code, but can probably use managed controls via native/managed interop with out too much extra work. Any help would be appreciated, I don't want to have to reinvent the wheel if I don't have to.

Now I have All the Images of Topic Locally with the same name as i got from the web service for Particular Topic_ID. • Appending html code to a section inside a dialog window isn't working in IE6

  I'm using jQuery's validation on a form. When the form is validated, I'm using a submitHandler to fill a dialog with data from the form then I open the dialog to display it. Works great except for in IE6. Nothing displays. I've tried initializing the dialog before and after running the validation code but neither makes a difference.   Hi, In my web application, I use strust2 url tag to pass parameters like id etc., For example, I use a link to delete an entity and I use param to pass the id of the entity to be deleted. And I follow this throughout my web app for adding, editing, deleting an entity. During run time, sometimes, I don't get the params to be stored in my action's bean properties. When I see the link that is generated, I get something like <a href='/projit1/p/discuss/viewDiscussion.action?d=11&amp;amp;amp;projid=11&amp;amp;disid=4'> What are these amps for ? why do they sit in between the action calls (made by link via url tag actions ) ? By the time I traverse back and forth in my web app, I get 10s and 20s of amp sitting in the request URL. What is the problem here ? Please help.

The ViewModel gets a reference to this class as the constructor parameter so it can make any calls to get/set data, in this case it will be a Web service call. • Continuous Flash music player while navigating site

  I have a site that includes a Flash music player integrated into the layout. I want users to be able to navigate around the site without interrupting the music. I've done plenty of research and thinking and the following are the options I came up with (keeping in mind I want to be as SEO friendly as possible). Anyone have another idea? AJAX: I set up a version that changes the main content div to whatever nav link they click, thereby not interrupting the Flash player. I set it up in the proper search-engine-friendly manner with direct links and JQuery/Ajax functions. If someone goes to site.com/ and clicks the Contact nav link, it loads what's in the main content div on site.com/contact.php into the main content div and changes the URL bar to site.com/#Contact. The same goes for if they go to site.com/contact.php and click About in the nav, it loads the About content and changes the URL bar to site.com/contact.php#About. Obviously this opens up a whole new can of worms with AJAX and hash navigation/history issues, and I would end up with people possibly linking to things like site.com/contact.php#About (which I think looks terrible and can't be too great for SEO). Store the Flash player vars somewhere and reload them with the page: I'm not sure how to go about this, but I thought about keeping my regular navigation without AJAX and have it so when a user clicks a nav link, before it changes pages it stores the Flash player vars (current song and song position) somewhere, then loads them into Flash when the new page loads. Something with an iframe? Good alternative to a Flash player that will work for this type of application? Thanks!

• Developing web app, question for mobile developers

  I'm going to develop a web app that I expect some people will also end up wanting to view on their phones. The UI will be fairly straightforward (no frames, just CSS/HTML). May have a bit of Flash, but not for the first version. My question is, for testing viewing of the web app on mobile devices what devices would you recommend that I test on (and thus, most likely, have to purchase)? Windows Mobile iPhone Android Other? or can I use emulators for any/all of these? Note that I'm not developing a platform (android, iPhone) specific app, just a web application that I expect will also be accessed from a mobile phone. I apologise if this seems like a niave/stupid question, but this hobby project is totally away from my commercial experience and I just don't know the answers to these questions, hence asking here. • jQuery slideDown + CSS Floats

  I'm using a HTML Table with several rows. Every second row - containing details about the preceding row - is hidden using CSS. When clicking the first row, the second row gets showed using jQuery show(). This is quite nice, but I would prefer the slideDown-Effect. The problem is, inside the details row, there are two floating DIVs, one floating on the left, and one on the right. Now if i slideDown the previously hidden row, the contained DIVs behave strange and "jump around".   I have a span, eg: <p>Here is a sentence <span id="rotate">this</span> is what changes</p> and I'd like the contents of that span to change every few moments between a list of terms, so the contents might change to be: <span id="rotate">then</span> <span id="rotate">thus</span> and so on. I'd like the text to fade out and then the new text fade in. Whats the best way to do this via jquery?
