  • C# Julian Date Parser

    - by Jake Pearson
I have a cell in a spreadsheet that is a date object in Excel but becomes a double (something like 39820.0 for 1/7/2009) when it comes out of C1's xls class. I read this is a Julian date format. Can someone tell me how to parse it back into a DateTime in C#? Update: It looks like I might not have a Julian date, but instead the number of days since Dec 30, 1899.

  • Sharepoint DateTimeControl: set it to null

    - by pistacchio
Hi, how can I set the selected value of a Sharepoint DateTimeControl to null? When you first load it into a page, there's no value selected (even if the returned value is not properly null but one can check it with IsDateEmpty). How can i programmatically set it back to the initial, empty value? Thanks

  • Java frameworks vs. Javascript frameworks

    - by the_drow
I am a big fan of the Dojo Toolkit but I see here often that there are Java frameworks that do the same thing but they are not as extensive or as user friendly as Dojo in my opinion. What are the main differences? Can I use Dojo for the GUI and Java as the back-end? Is there a list of Java frameworks for web development?

  • Sorting an observable collection with linq

    - by zachary
I have an observable collection and I sort it using linq. Everything is great, but the problem I have is how do I sort the actual observable collection? Instead I just end up with some IEnumerable thing and I end up clearing the collection and adding the stuff back in. This can't be good for performance. Does anyone know of a better way to do this?

    - by Paul Knopf
I am using VisualSVN (which uses Tortoise). I accidentally move a folder to a different location. When tries to move it back, SVN pukes with this error. It happened once before and I managed to do some random updates/commits, not knowing what I was doing and it was "fixed". I cannot pull the same magic again, so I need to know how to get my files and directory and of tree-conflict. Thanks!

  • Webservice Follow Redirect False - Error 302 (JAXWS)

    - by frappuccino
This is a link to a question I had asked two days back, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2573858/how-to-make-a-webservice-request-follow-a-redirect I am using jaxws library. The service forms the URL, and then internally creates the HTTPURLConnection. If I can grab hold of the connection I would be able to set the followRedirect to true. But not getting a handle of the same. Its urgent, any help would be highly appreciated.

  • How to find long running transactions in Websphere MQ Series?

    - by raistlin
In a J2EE environment the MQ server log shows the following: Process(954584.5) User(mqm) Program(amqzmuc0) AMQ7469: Transactions rolled back to release log space. .... While increasing the logfile size/space might be a temporary solution, the definitive solution must be to identify the culprit process/queue that causes this long transaction. Is there any solution/tool for this? Note: MQ is used via JMS only

  • Handling Errors from HttpWebRequest.GetResponse

    - by Jason
Hey experts - I'm having a ridiculous time trying to get an SMS API working (ZeepMobile, if you're interested) with .NET... I've been around .NET for a few years, but with all this social networking and API stuff, I need to get into the HttpWebRequest a bit. I'm new at it, but not completely new; I was able to hook up my site to Twitter without too much fuss (ie, I was able to modify someone's code to work for me). Anyways, the way their API works is to send an SMS message, you send them a POST and they respond back to you. I can send it just fine, but every time I do, rather than echo back something helpful to figure out what the error is, I get the Yellow Error Page Of Death (YEPOD) saying something to the effect of "The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request." This occurs on my line: '...creation of httpwebrequest here...' Dim myWebResponse As WebResponse myWebResponse = request.GetResponse() '<--- error line Is there any way to simply receive the error from the server rather than have the webserver throw an exception and give me the YEPOD? Or better yet, can anyone post a working example of their Zeep code? :) Thanks! EDIT: Here's my whole code block: Public Shared Function SendTextMessage(ByVal username As String, _ ByVal txt As String) As String Dim content As String = "user_id=" + _ username + "&body=" + Current.Server.UrlEncode(txt) Dim httpDate As String = DateTime.Now.ToString("r") Dim canonicalString As String = API_KEY & httpDate & content Dim encoding As New System.Text.UTF8Encoding Dim hmacSha As New HMACSHA1(encoding.GetBytes(SECRET_ACCESS_KEY)) Dim hash() As Byte = hmacSha.ComputeHash(encoding.GetBytes(canonicalString)) Dim b64 As String = Convert.ToBase64String(hash) 'connect with zeep' Dim request As HttpWebRequest = CType(WebRequest.Create(_ "https://api.zeepmobile.com/messaging/2008-07-14/send_message"), HttpWebRequest) request.Method = "POST" request.ServicePoint.Expect100Continue = False ' set the authorization levels' request.Headers.Add("Authorization", "Zeep " & API_KEY & ":" & b64) request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded" request.ContentLength = content.Length ' set up and write to stream' Dim reqStream As New StreamWriter(request.GetRequestStream()) reqStream.Write(content) reqStream.Close() Dim msg As String = "" msg = reqStream.ToString Dim myWebResponse As WebResponse Dim myResponseStream As Stream Dim myStreamReader As StreamReader myWebResponse = request.GetResponse() myResponseStream = myWebResponse.GetResponseStream() myStreamReader = New StreamReader(myResponseStream) msg = myStreamReader.ReadToEnd() myStreamReader.Close() myResponseStream.Close() ' Close the WebResponse' myWebResponse.Close() Return msg End Function

  • How many inserts can you have in a sql transaction.

    - by Mav
I have a task to do that will require me using a transaction to ensure that many inserts will be completed or the entire update rolled back. I am concerned about the amount of data that needs to be inserted in this transaction and whether this will have a negative affect on the server. We are looking at about 10,000 records in table1 and 60,0000 records into table2. Is this safe to do in a single transaction?

    - by Ali
Hi guys I'm using microtime() function of php to tell how long certain snippets of code take to run I do this by taking the time before and after the snippet and subtracting them using microtime function. I cannot find any documentation to convert the transmitted string to a Public key that can be used to encrypt Strings. I also want the J2me to verify signed strings from the server. I want to then send the encrypted strings back to the server.

  • Loop OpenAL source with offset

    - by ressaw
The OpenAL API states that an setting an offset still causes the sound to loop back to zero for looping sources. But is there a way to loop and still have an offset somehow? I have an mp3, and since it contains headers with information at the start of the file, there's a small, but noticable, delay in looping when it rewinds. If not, are there any other compressed formats that don't contain these empty headers?

    - by PSU_Kardi
I have an XML file that I used to create an XSD File and from there generated the C# code. However, during development I had to make some changes to that C# file. Is there a way I can use the xsd.exe tool to convert that C# file back into an XSD file? I'm hoping to avoid having to go and manually edit the XSD File.

  • iphone UITextField remembering user's previous input???

    - by Rob
Is there a way to remember what the user put into a UITextField and have it displayed the next time they come to that UITextField? i.e. - have them input their name the first time they come to the "Name" UITextField but have that name already displayed in that field the next time they come across that UITextField? I want the name to still be editable if they come back to the UITextField, but inputted nonetheless in case they don't need to change it the second time around.
