  My Folder structure in sharepoint is flat one. in the same level I have pages Home, Main Articles, Articles by Category, Article Content aspx pages. A user can navigate like Home Main Articles Articles by Category Article or Home Main Articles Article or Home Article. I want user to see the breadcrumbs as shown above. • Prepared transactions with Postgres 8.4.3 on CentOS

  I have set 'max_prepared_transactions' to 20 in the local postgres.config and yet the transaction fails with the following error trace (but only on Linux). Since in Windows the same code works seamlessly I am wandering if this isn't an issue of permission. What would be the solution? • C++ thread safety - exchange data between worker and controller

  I still feel a bit unsafe about the topic and hope you folks can help me - For passing data (configuration or results) between a worker thread polling something and a controlling thread interested in the most recent data, I've ended up using more or less the following pattern repeatedly: Mutex m; tData * stage; // temporary, accessed concurrently // send data, gives up ownership, receives old stage if any tData * Send(tData * newData) { ScopedLock lock(m); swap(newData, stage); return newData; } // receiving thread fetches latest data here tData * Fetch(tData * prev) { ScopedLock lock(m); if (stage != 0) { // ... release prev prev = stage; stage = 0; } return prev; // now current } Note: This is not supposed to be a full producer-consumer queue, only the msot recent data is relevant. Also, I've skimmed ressource management somewhat here. When necessary I'm using two such stages: one to send config changes to the worker, and for sending back results. Now, my questions assuming that ScopedLock implements a full memory barrier: do stage and/or workerData need to be volatile? is volatile necessary for tData members? can I use smart pointers instead of the raw pointers - say boost::shared_ptr? Anything else that can go wrong? I am basically trying to avoid "volatile infection" spreading into tData, and minimize lock contention (a lock free implementation seems possible, too). However, I'm not sure if this is the easiest solution. ScopedLock acts as a full memory barrier. Since all this is more or less platform dependent, let's say Visual C++ x86 or x64, though differences/notes for other platforms are welcome, too. (a prelimenary "thanks but" for recommending libraries such as Intel TBB - I am trying to understand the platform issues here)

• json_encode with mysql content and umlauts in utf-8

  Hey, i feel my beard growing while trying to find out the Problem here. Basic the Problem is, that Umlauts/Special Signs äöß ... don't work. I guess everyone is sick and tired of that questions but all the solutions found online don't seem to work. Im having utf-8 content in a utf-8 Mysql Database. I feel the Problem ist somewhere in the Database connection but i just can't figure out. character_set_client utf8 character_set_connection utf8 character_set_database utf8 character_set_filesystem binary character_set_results utf8 character_set_server latin1 character_set_system utf8 Im not sure if the problem is the latin1 for character_set_server because im not into that mysql stuff. I also dont know how to change cause i can't access the mysql server's config files. • Parallel WCF calls to multiple servers

  I have a WCF service (the same one) running on multiple servers, and I'd like to call all instances in parallel from a single client. I'm using ChannelFactory and the interface (contract) to call the service. Each service has a local <endpoint> client defined in the .config file. What I'm trying to do is build some kind of generic framework to avoid code duplication. For example a synchronous call in a single thread looks something like this: Dim remoteName As String = "endpointName1" Dim svcProxy As ChannelFactory(Of IMyService) = New ChannelFactory(Of IMyService)(remoteName) Try svcProxy.Open() Dim svc As IMyService = svcProxy.CreateChannel() nodeResult = svc.TestRemote("foo") Finally svcProxy.Close() End Try The part I'm having difficulty with is how to specify and actually invoke the actual remote method (eg "TestRemote") without having to duplicate the above code, and all the thread-related stuff that invokes that, for each method. In the end, I'd like to be able to write code along the lines of (consider this psuedo code): Dim results as Dictionary(Of Node, ExpectedReturnType) results = ParallelInvoke(IMyService.SomeMethod, parameter1, parameter2) where ParallelInvoke() will take the method as an argument, as well as the parameters (paramArray or object() .. whatever) and then go run the request on each remote node, block until they all return an answer or timeout, and then return the results into a Dictionary with the key as the node, and the value as whatever value it returned. I can then (depending on the method) pick out the single value I need, or aggregate all the values from each server together, etc. I'm pretty sure I can do this using reflection and InvokeMember(), but that requires passing the method as a string (which can lead to errors like calling a non-existing method that can't be caught at compile time), so I'd like to see if there is a cleaner way to do this. • custom httphandler in asp.net cannot get request querystring?

  i've been trying to get this to work. its basicly a way to have certain MVC pages work within a webforms cms (umbraco) someone tried it before me and had issues with MVC2.0 (see here), i read the post, did what was announced there, but with or without that code, i seem to get stuck on a different matter. it seems like, if i call an url, it fires the handler, but fails to request the querystring passed, the variable originalPath is always empty, for example i call this url: http://localhost:8080/mvc.ashx?mvcRoute=/home/RSVPForm the handler is supposed to get the mvcRoute but it is always empty. thus gets rewritten to a simple / and then returns resource cannot be found error. here is the code i use now public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext httpContext) { string originalPath = httpContext.Request.Path; string newPath = httpContext.Request.QueryString["mvcRoute"]; if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(newPath)) newPath = "/"; HttpContext.Current.RewritePath(newPath, false); IHttpHandler ih = (IHttpHandler)new MvcHttpHandler(); ih.ProcessRequest(httpContext); HttpContext.Current.RewritePath(originalPath, false); } i would like some new input on this as i'm staring myself blind on such a simple issue, while i thought i would have more problems with mvc itself :p Edit have no time to investigate, but after copying the site over to different locations, using numerous web.config changes (unrelated to this error but was figuring other things out) this error seems to have solved itself. so its no longer an issue, however i have no clue as to what exactly made this to work again.

• flex and jsf access the same instance of bean

  i integrate a flex app in a jsf-icefaces app (in a jspx site with the ice:outputmedia-tag) and want to access the same instance of a bean from flex by remote, that jsf inject. i already connect with blazeds to a java-bean. this bean - like all other beans - get other beans by injection of jsf, but when i access the bean by remote from flex it doesnt hold the injected beans (like localizer and accesmanager, both session scoped) and i can't connect to the jsf session (FacesContext.getCurrentInstance() is null). this is because flex create a new instance of the bean and it’s not the same current instance, that jsf inject, i think. i can connect from flex to the database by create a new entity manager in the java bean, but that's not what i want, because it's again another entity manager...i want persist and get data over the accessmanager-bean. i know exadel fiji and flamingo, but i couldn't work with fiji, because my jsf app include the icefaces components and then it doesn't work with richfaces which fiji needs. and flamingo work only with jboss seam and spring. is it right? i also read about the spring-flex-integration, but the jsf application did not create with spring and i don't want to integrate spring in such a large jsf app. yesterday i read about the FlexFactory interface. this interface i have to implement in my own Factory and set it in the service-config.xml of blazeds as a factory read this. i still implement my own factory but i only get application scoped beans over the servlet context which i get over FlexContext.getServletContext().getAttribute("Bean"); and not session scoped beans... i hope there is a chance to connect throw flex and jsf... thanks!

  Hi all! I need help with some rules in ISAPI_Rewrite in my installation. I'm going to be very honest about my needs. I need to do this configuration in the next few hours, and don't have time right now understand everything about rewrites, regular expressions and such. I really think you can help me, if I had more reputation I would even set up a bounty... :( In fact, I believe that what I need is simple: I have a .com domain. The main url of my website is going to be http:// www.mainurl.com/. I have two other domains: mainurl.net and mainurl.org. What I need (in isapi-rewrite 2, the config made with httpd.ini file in root file) is: everytime someone writes mainurl.net in browser it becomes http:// www.mainurl.com/ 301 redirect. If it's written without www becomes http:// www.mainurl.com/. If someone writes mainurl.net/about it becomes http:// www.mainurl.com/about/. Redirect always the .com, the www part and the final slash /. Thanks in advance you all!

• Design/Architecture Advice Needed

  Summary: I have different components on homepage and each components shows some promotion to the user. I have Cart as one Component and depending upon content of the cart promotion are show. I have to track user online activities and send that information to Omniture for Report Generation. Now my components are loaded asynchronously basically are loaded when AjaxRequest is fired up and so there is not fix pattern or rather information on when components will appear on the webpages. Now in order to pass information to Omniture I need to call track function on $(document).(ready) and append information for each components(7 parameters are required by Omniture for each component). So in the init:config function of each component am calling Omniture and passing paramters but now no. of Omniture calls is directly proportional to no. of Components on the webpage but this is not acceptable as each call to Omniture is very expensive. Now I am looking for a way where in I can club the information about 7 parameters and than make one Call to Omniture wherein I pass those information. Points to note is that I do not know when the components are loaded and so there is no pre-defined time or no. of components that would be loaded. The thing is am calling track function when document is ready but components are loaded after call to Omniture has been made and so my question is Q: How can I collect the information for all the components and than just make one call to Omniture to send those information ? As mentioned, I do not know when the components are loaded as they are done on the Ajax Request. Hope I am able to explain my challenge and would appreciate if some one can provide from Design/Architect Solutions for the Challenge.

• Confused with an ASP.NET/WCF WSDL Parsing Error

  I have a WCF Web Service that my ASP.NET app uses. It has been working fine for quite some time. I just added in a Dev Express Grid (and the Dev Express DLLs) and a new page that uses them and now I am getting parsing errors on the WSDL. But the weird part is that it works fine on my machine but fails on the web server machine. (Both are connecting to the same web services WSDL.) • Spring HandlerInterceptor or Spring Security to protect resource

  I've got a basic Spring Security 3 set up using my own login page. My configuration is below. I have the login and sign up page accessible to all as well as most everything else. I'm new to Spring Security and understand that if a user is trying to access a protected resource they will be taken to the defined login page. And upon successful login they are taken to some other page, home in my case. I want to keep the latter behavior; however, I'd like specify that if a user tries to access certain resources they are taken to the sign up page, not the login page. Currently, in my annotated controllers I check the security context to see if the user is logged in and if not I redirect them to the sign up page. I only do this currently with two urls and no others. This seemed redundant so I tried creating a HandlerInterceptor to redirect for these requests but realized that with annotations, you can't specify specific requests to be handled - they all are. So I'm wondering if there is some way to implement this type of specific url handling in Spring Security, or is going the HandlerInterceptor route my only option? • HttpModule with ASP.NET MVC not being called

  I am trying to implement a session-per-request pattern in an ASP.NET MVC 2 Preview 1 application, and I've implemented an IHttpModule to help me do this: public class SessionModule : IHttpModule { public void Init(HttpApplication context) { context.Response.Write("Init!"); context.EndRequest += context_EndRequest; } // ... etc... } And I've put this into the web.config: <system.web> <httpModules> <add name="SessionModule" type="MyNamespace.SessionModule" /> </httpModules> <system.webServer> <modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true"> <remove name="SessionModule" /> <add name="SessionModule" type="MyNamespace.SessionModule" /> </modules> However, "Init!" never gets written to the page (I'm using the built-in VS web server, Cassini). Additionally, I've tried putting breakpoints in the SessionModule but they never break. What am I missing?

• No coverage for runtime with Devel::Cover and ModPerl::Registry

  When I'm running Devel::Cover with ModPerl::Registry, I get no coverage info except for BEGIN blocks. When I'm running the same script with Devel::Cover from command line or as a CGI, everything works alright (obviously). How can I make Devel::Cover "see" my code being executed in the runtime? • Implementation review for a MVC.NET app with custom membership

  I'd like to hear if anyone sees any problems with how I implemented the security in this Oracle based MVC.NET app, either security issues, concurrency issues or scalability issues. First, I implemented a CustomOracleMembershipProvider to handle the database interface to the membership store. I implemented a custom Principal named User which implements IPrincipal, and it has a hashtable of Roles. I also created a separate class named AuthCache which has a simple cache for User objects. Its purpose is simple to avoid return trips to the database, while decoupling the caching from either the web layer or the data layer. (So I can share the cache between MVC.NET, WCF, etc.) The MVC.NET stock MembershipService uses the CustomOracleMembershipProvider (configured in web.config), and both MembershipService and FormsService share access to the singleton AuthCache. My AccountController.LogOn() method: 1) Validates the user via the MembershipService.Validate() method, also loads the roles into the User.Roles container and then caches the User in AuthCache. 2) Signs the user into the Web context via FormsService.SignIn() which accesses the AuthCache (not the database) to get the User, sets HttpContext.Current.User to the cached User Principal. In global.asax.cs, Application_AuthenticateRequest() is implemented. It decrypts the FormsAuthenticationTicket, accesses the AuthCache by the ticket.Name (Username) and sets the Principal by setting Context.User = user from the AuthCache. So in short, all these classes share the AuthCache, and I have, for thread synchronization, a lock() in the cache store method. No lock in the read method. The custom membership provider doesn't know about the cache, the MembershipService doesn't know about any HttpContext (so could be used outside of a web app), and the FormsService doesn't use any custom methods besides accessing the AuthCache to set the Context.User for the initial login, so it isn't dependent on a specific membership provider. The main thing I see now is that the AuthCache will be sharing a User object if a user logs in from multiple sessions. So I may have to change the key from just UserId to something else (maybe using something in the FormsAuthenticationTicket for the key?).

I am currently using the framework System.Web.Mvc.Extensibility and in its start up code, it registered HttpContextBase like the following: container.Register(Component.For<HttpContextBase>().LifeStyle.Transient.UsingFactoryMethod(() => new HttpContextWrapper(HttpContext.Current))); What I wanted to do is to change the behavior and change the lifestyle of httpContextBase to be PerWebRequest. so I have change the code to the following: container.Register(Component.For<HttpContextBase>().LifeStyle.PerWebRequest.UsingFactoryMethod(() => new HttpContextWrapper(HttpContext.Current))); However, when I do this, I got the following error: System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException: Looks like you forgot to register the http module Castle.MicroKernel.Lifestyle.PerWebRequestLifestyleModule Add '<add name="PerRequestLifestyle" type="Castle.MicroKernel.Lifestyle.PerWebRequestLifestyleModule, Castle.MicroKernel" />' to the <httpModules> section on your web.config which I did under <system.web> and <system.webServer>, however, I am still getting the same error. • How do I code Citrix web sites to use a Secure Gateway (CSG)?

  I'm using Citrix's sample code as a base and trying to get it to generate ICA files that direct the client to use their Secure Gateway (CSG) provider. My configuration is that the ICA file's server address is replaced with a CSG ticket and traffic is forced to go to the CSG. The challenge is that both the Citrix App Server (that's providing the ICA session on 1494) and the CSG have to coordinate through a Secure Ticket Authority (STA). That means that my code needs to talk to the STA as it creates the ICA file because STA holds a ticket that the CSG needs embedded into the ICA file. Confusing? Sure! But it's much more secure. • Mark assembly App_licenses.dll with AssemblyVersion (FxCop CA1016 rule)

  Hello everyone, I'm trying to fulfil FxCop's rules in my web site. Since I use some Infragistics controls I have a licenses.licx file that turns into a "app_licenses.dll" assembly after publication. The problem is that this app_licenses.dll assembly does not comply with rule CA1016 (MarkAssembliesWithAssemblyVersion), and I should add an AssemblyVersion attribute to 'App_Licenses.dll'. Recently strange errors have occurred. This does not happen for all users, just a few. • AutoMapper How To Map Object A To Object B Differently Depending On Context

  Calling all AutoMapper gurus! I'd like to be able to map object A to object B differently depending on context at runtime. In particular, I'd like to ignore certain properties in one mapping case, and have all properties mapped in another case. What I'm experiencing is that Mapper.CreateMap can be called successfully in the different mapping cases however, once CreateMap is called, the map for a particular pair of types is set and is not subsequently changed by succeeding CreateMap calls which might describe the mapping differently. I found a blog post which advocates Mapper.Reset() to get round the problem, however, the static nature of the Mapper class means that it is only a matter of time before a collision and crash occur. Is there a way to do this? What I think I need is to call Mapper.CreateMap once per appdomain, and later, be able to call Mapper.Map with hints about which properties should be included / excluded. Right now, I'm thinking about changing the source code by writing a non-static mapping class that holds the mapping config instance based. Poor performance, but thread safe. What are my options. What can be done? Automapper seems so promising.

The main url of my website is going to be http:// www.mainurl.com/. I have two other domains: mainurl.net and mainurl.org. What I need (in isapi-rewrite 2, the config made with httpd.ini file in root file) is: everytime someone writes mainurl.net in browser it becomes http:// www.mainurl.com/ 301 redirect. If it's written without www becomes http:// www.mainurl.com/. If someone writes mainurl.net/about it becomes http:// www.mainurl.com/about/.
