  • Scroll Wheel in Delphi 7 with CodeRush

    - by GM Mugford
One casualty of my brief dalliance with Delphi 2010 and subsequent return to using Delphi 7 was my acceptance of the wheel-scrolling behaviour in Delphi 7 with CodeRush installed. The scroll wheel scrolls horizontally in that environment, which I've accepted for all these many years. But it sure was nice to have vertical scrolling while in D2010. Now, I wonder if there is any 'fix' to achieve the 'natural' scroll direction in my environment. Any old CodeRush/D7 users out there with a solution?

  • Diophantine Equation [closed]

    - by ANIL
In mathematics, a Diophantine equation (named for Diophantus of Alexandria, a third century Greek mathematician) is a polynomial equation where the variables can only take on integer values. Although you may not realize it, you have seen Diophantine equations before: one of the most famous Diophantine equations is: X^n+Y^n=Z^n We are not certain that McDonald's knows about Diophantine equations (actually we doubt that they do), but they use them! McDonald's sells Chicken McNuggets in packages of 6, 9 or 20 McNuggets. Thus, it is possible, for example, to buy exactly 15 McNuggets (with one package of 6 and a second package of 9), but it is not possible to buy exactly 16 nuggets, since no non- negative integer combination of 6's, 9's and 20's adds up to 16. To determine if it is possible to buy exactly n McNuggets, one has to solve a Diophantine equation: find non-negative integer values of a, b, and c, such that 6a + 9b + 20c = n. Problem 1 Show that it is possible to buy exactly 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, and 55 McNuggets, by finding solutions to the Diophantine equation. You can solve this in your head, using paper and pencil, or writing a program. However you chose to solve this problem, list the combinations of 6, 9 and 20 packs of McNuggets you need to buy in order to get each of the exact amounts. Given that it is possible to buy sets of 50, 51, 52, 53, 54 or 55 McNuggets by combinations of 6, 9 and 20 packs, show that it is possible to buy 56, 57,..., 65 McNuggets. In other words, show how, given solutions for 50-55, one can derive solutions for 56-65. Problem 2 Write an iterative program that finds the largest number of McNuggets that cannot be bought in exact quantity. Your program should print the answer in the following format (where the correct number is provided in place of n): "Largest number of McNuggets that cannot be bought in exact quantity: n" Hints: Hypothesize possible instances of numbers of McNuggets that cannot be purchased exactly, starting with 1 For each possible instance, called n, a. Test if there exists non-negative integers a, b, and c, such that 6a+9b+20c = n. (This can be done by looking at all feasible combinations of a, b, and c) b. If not, n cannot be bought in exact quantity, save n When you have found six consecutive values of n that in fact pass the test of having an exact solution, the last answer that was saved (not the last value of n that had a solution) is the correct answer, since you know by the theorem that any amount larger can also be bought in exact quantity

  • How to implement wordwrap on jqGrid which works on IE7, IE8 and FF

    - by Brandon
How to implement wordwrap on jqGrid which works on IE7, IE8 and FF, while also having column-resize work (grid aligns correctly). Tried to innerwrap content on each td with a div of specific width (based on initial TH width), but colresize will not work on the divs I've inserted. jqGrid calculates the widths of the resized TH and adjacent THs though. Is there a better solution which will avoid all the JavaScript 'hacks'?

I have a project in C# and I get this error every time I try to compile the project : (Unable to copy file "obj\Debug\Project1.exe" to "bin\Debug\Project1.exe". The process cannot access the file 'bin\Debug\Project1.exe' because it is being used by another process.), so I have to close the process from the task manager. my project is only one form and there is no multithreading. what is the solution (without restarting VS or Killing the process)?

  • Emulating CSS3 border-radius and box-shadow in IE7/8

    - by Adam Maras
I'm working on HTML for a small web application; the design calls for a content area with rounded corners and a drop shadow. I've been able to produce this with CSS3, and it works flawlessly on Firefox and Chrome: However, Internet Explorer 7 and 8 (not supporting CSS3) is a different story: Is there an easy, lightweight JavaScript solution that would allow me to either 1) use IE-specific features to achieve this, or 2) modify the DOM (programmatically) in such a way that adds custom images around the content area to emulate the effect?

  • UISwitch within UIScrollview nearly impossible to use....

    - by samsam
Hi there. I'm using a UISwitch-Component at the bottom of a view that sits within a UIScrollView. Now the problem that appeared, is that the switch is nearly impossible to swipe because the UIScrollView seems to dominate the userinput. Switching works very well by tapping the switch, but from my point of view, most users "switch" the UISwitch instead of tapping. Did anyone of you face the same / or similar problems and managed to come up with a solution? thx in advance sam

  • Converting to Base 10

    - by incrediman
Hi, Let's say I have a string or array which represents a number in base N, N1, where N is a power of 2. Assume the number being represented is larger than the system can handle as an actual number (an int or a double etc). How can I convert that to a decimal string? I'm open to a solution for any base N which satisfies the above criteria (binary, hex, ...).

  • WPF WrapPanel with some items having a height of *

    - by Aphex
How do I make a WrapPanel with some items having a Height of *? A deceptively simple question that I have been trying to solve. I want a control (or some XAML layout magickry) that behaves similar to a Grid that has some rows with a Height of *, but supports wrapping of columns. Hell; call it a WrapGrid. :) Here's a mockup to visualize this. Imagine a grid defined as such: <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="400"> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> <RowDefinition Height="*"/> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> <RowDefinition Height="*"/> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Button Grid.Row="0" MinHeight="30">I'm auto-sized.</Button> <Button Grid.Row="1" MinHeight="90">I'm star-sized.</Button> <Button Grid.Row="2" MinHeight="30">I'm auto-sized.</Button> <Button Grid.Row="3" MinHeight="90">I'm star-sized, too!</Button> <Button Grid.Row="4" MinHeight="30">I'm auto-sized.</Button> <Button Grid.Row="5" MinHeight="30">I'm auto-sized.</Button> </Grid> </Window> What I want this panel to do is wrap an item into an additional column when the item can not get any smaller than its minHeight. Here is a horrible MSPaint of some mockups I made detailing this process. Recall from the XAML that the auto-sized buttons have minHeights of 30, and the star-sized buttons have minHeights of 90. This mockup is just two grids side by side and I manually moved buttons around in the designer. Conceivably, this could be done programmatically and serve as a sort of convoluted solution to this. How can this be done? I will accept any solution whether it's through xaml or has some code-behind (though I would prefer pure XAML if possible since xaml code behind is tougher to implement in IronPython). Updated with a bounty

Hi, I have a question about turing machines and halting problem. Suppose that we have Atm = {(M,w) where M is a turing machine and w is an input} and HALTtm = {(M,w) where M is a turing machine halts with an input w} I want to prove that HALTtm<=m Atm I've tried some methods but I think they're far from the solution. Anyone can give some clues ??

  • Any porting available of backtrace for uclibc?

    - by user303967
We are running the uclibc linux on ARM 9. The problem is uclibc doesn't support backtrace. When a core dump happens, I cannot grab the call stack. Does anyone have a good solution for that? For example, an existing porting of backtrace for uclibc, or any good method to grab the call stack when a core dump happens (uclibc+ARM+Linux)?

I need to establish a P2P UDP and TCP Connection between two Users. Both of them are behind a NAT. A little research leads me to STUN, TURN and ICE. Is there any Java solution (library) except jSTUN which seems to work only on UDP. And TURN, ICE is much better for the symmetric NAT Problem.

  • red-black tree - construction

    - by Chaitanya
Recently, I have been going through search trees and I encountered red-black trees, the point confusing me is, In r-b tree, the root node should be black thats fine, now how will I decide whether the incoming node assumes red or black color. I have gone through the wiki article but have not found a solution for this. I might be wrong, but I would be happy if someone can guide me through the exact material. Thank you.

  • Convert Unicode char to closest (most similar) char in ASCII (.net)

    - by Andrey
Hi all! Do you have any idea how to covert different Unicode characters to their closest ASCII equivalents? Like Ä - A. A googled but didn't find any suitable solution. Trick Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("Ä")[0] didn't work. (Result was ?). I found that there is class Encoder that has Fallback property that is exactly for cases when char can't be converted, but implementations (EncoderReplacementFallback) are stupid and convert to ?. Any ideas? Thanks, Andrey
