  • Starting timer from another project

    I have to projects in my .net windows forms, in one form(1st Project) i have timer control already running. On some request i want to start that timer from the form1 of (second project). If we are creating new object in second project for the 1st project(Which is currently in running thread) we will not be able to start the timer for the current instance. How can we access the current running instance from my 2nd project. Please suggest me some method

    I can find the start coordinates of where a swipe starts by doing the following - (void)oneFingerSwipeUp:(UISwipeGestureRecognizer *)recognizer { CGPoint point = [recognizer locationInView:[self view]]; NSLog(@"Swipe up - start location: %f,%f", point.x, point.y); } Is it possible to find the coordinates where the swipe ended?     I have an activity with two buttons, start and stop. If the user press the start button a service is created using Context.startService. And the stop button calls Context.stopService. I want the stop button to be the only way to destroy the service. Now, if i end the activity using a task manager, the service is killed as well. Is there any way to avoid this?

    Many Windows apps (like Skype or MSN for instance) don't let you start multiple instances, rather trying to run it a 2nd time just leaves the existing version running. Is this typically done in some simple way - the start-menu shortcut is a 'wrapper' app around the main app - or is there some registry magic you can do to delegate the problem to Windows itself? Specifically dealing with Win32 here (unmanaged C++) but happy to hear more general solutions as long as they are workable on Windows XP or alter.

    I want a script to start a new process, such that the new process continues running after the initial script exits. I expected that I could use multiprocessing.Process to start a new process, and set daemon=True so that the main script may exit while the created process continues running. But it seems that the second process is silently terminated when the main script exits. Is this expected behavior, or am I doing something wrong?
