    I see with the Castle validators I can use a length validation attribute. [ValidateLength(6, 30, "some error message")] public string SomeProperty { get; set; } I am trying to find a MinLength only attribute is there a way to do this with the out of the box attributes? So far my idea is implementing AbstractValidationAttribute public class ValidateMinLengthAttribute : AbstractValidationAttribute and making its Build method return a MinLengthValidator, then using ValidateMinLength on SomeProperty public class MinLengthValidator : Castle.Components.Validator.IValidator Does anyone have an example of a fully implemented IValidator or know where such documentation exists?? I am not sure what all the methods and properties are expecting. Thanks

  • How does this ruby custom accessor work

    So the method below in class_eval dynamically creates accessors for attributes defined at runtime. It can be used, for example, to create configuration objects with attributes read from a config file (and unknown until runtime). I understanding all of it except for the else branch. If I am correct the else branch returns the attribute value (val[0]) if there is one value passed in *val. However the way its written I would expect it to return an array (val) if there is more then one value passed in *var. In particular, if I have something like the following: value = 5 then from reading the code I would expect "#{@value}" to be [=,5]. However "#{@value}" returns 5 and not the array [=,5].     I have a List<MyClass> The class is like this: private class MyClass { public string Name{ get; set; } public int SequenceNumber { get; set; } } I want to work out what Sequence numbers might be missing. I can see how to do this here however because this is a class I am unsure what to do?   • Localizing DataAnnotations Custom Validator

    Hello SO, I'm currently working in an MVC 2 app which has to have everything localized in n-languages (currently 2, none of them english btw). I validate my model classes with DataAnnotations but when I wanted to validate a DateTime field found out that the DataTypeAttribute returns always true, no matter it was a valid date or not (that's because when I enter a random string "foo", the IsValid() method checks against "01/01/0001 ", dont know why). Decided to write my own validator extending ValidationAtribute class: public class DateTimeAttribute : ValidationAttribute { public override bool IsValid(object value) { DateTime result; if (value.ToString().Equals("01/01/0001 0:00:00")) { return false; } return DateTime.TryParse(value.ToString(), out result); } } Now it checks OK when is valid and when it's not, but my problem starts when I try to localize it: [Required(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(MSG), ErrorMessageResourceName = "INS_DATA_Required")] [CustomValidation.DateTime(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(MSG), ErrorMessageResourceName = "INS_DATA_DataType")] public DateTime INS_DATA { get; set; } If I put nothing in the field I get a localized MSG (MSG being my resource class) for the key=INS_DATA_Required but if I put a bad-formatted date I get the "The value 'foo' is not valid for INS_DATA" default message and not the localized MSG. What am I misssing?

    As already discussed in Rtti data manipulation and consistency in Delphi 2010 a consistency between the original data and rtti values can be reached by accessing members by using a pair of TRttiField and an instance pointer. This would be very easy in case of a simple class with only basic member types (like e.g. integers or strings). But what if we have structured field types? Here is an example: TIntArray = array [0..1] of Integer; TPointArray = array [0..1] of Point; TExampleClass = class private FPoint : TPoint; FAnotherClass : TAnotherClass; FIntArray : TIntArray; FPointArray : TPointArray; public property Point : TPoint read FPoint write FPoint; //.... and so on end; For an easy access of Members I want to buil a tree of member-nodes, which provides an interface for getting and setting values, getting attributes, serializing/deserializing values and so on. TMemberNode = class private FMember : TRttiMember; FParent : TMemberNode; FInstance : Pointer; public property Value : TValue read GetValue write SetValue; //uses FInstance end; So the most important thing is getting/setting the values, which is done - as stated before - by using the GetValue and SetValue functions of TRttiField. So what is the Instance for FPoint members? Let's say Parent is the Node for TExample class, where the instance is known and the member is a field, then Instance would be: FInstance := Pointer (Integer (Parent.Instance) + TRttiField (FMember).Offset); But what if I want to know the Instance for a record property? There is no offset in this case. So is there a better solution to get a pointer to the data? For the FAnotherClass member, the Instance would be: FInstance := Parent.Value.AsObject; So far the solution works, and data manipulation can be done by using rtti or the original types, without losing information. But things get harder, when working with arrays. Especially the second array of Points. How can I get the instance for the members of points in this case?

    Hi, Having difficulty understanding why my function is being called twice. I'm trying to detect when a radio button is called (intRev_yes), check if a div is empty, slide down another div and then call a custome function which dynamically creates a date field. if(this.id=="intRev_yes"){ if($('div#mainField').is(':empty')){ $('.intRevSections').slideDown('slow',function(){ current=-1; addIrField(); }); } } When I alert out at each stage, after getting to the end (i.e. addIrField()), the script seems to go back to the slideDown() section and recalls addIrField(). I can't understand why, there are no loops. current is used as an index for the date field.

That means that on the page I have to set something that the HttpModule can then react on. If possible I would like to avoid having call context data in the session. Barring that, I'd like to put a constant jlabel for the units (uneditable) to the right of the text field. Anyone know how to do this?

    Hi I've been trying to figure out how to create a context menu in VSTO 2007. I'm hoping that is possible. When I make this call. Dim commandBar As Microsoft.Office.Core.CommandBar = _word.CommandBars("Text") I get the following error. This object model command is not available in e-mail. I've look all over and from what I can tell it's not possible to add to the context menu in Office 2007. This doesn't seem right. I've also tried this event without any luck since it isn't being fired when right clicking on the MailItem ItemContextMenuDisplay(ByVal commandBar As Microsoft.Office.Core.CommandBar, ByVal selection As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Selection) Hoping that someone can help. First: when the page loads and you attempt to click on one of the large images to advance, nothing happens. Once a thumbnail is clicked, the click functionality of the large image comes available. I'm trying to fix it so when the page loads, the user can just start clicking the large image. Second: when an image is clicked, the thumbnail highlight changes. The only problem there is once it gets past 4, the "current" thumbnail needs to be seen, thus the carousel should go to that one. Right now the code for that is nextThumb.closest('.thumbscontainer').jcarousel('next'); but that makes it scroll every time you click. Thanks for any help

    Is it possible to deserialize an XML file to a class in Flex without manually checking the XML and/or creating the class, with the help of a HttpService? Edit: Explained a bit more and better.
