The client application I wrote can connect to the server and it receives data, but the server does not receive any data sent by the client. Any idea what the problem could be?   • Adobe Reader unable to open downloaded file in IE6

    I'm working on a web app that allows users to downloaded dynamically generated PDF files. This works fine in IE8 and Firefox but fails in IE6 with Adobe Reader giving the message "there was an error opening this document. this file cannot be found" If I save the file to disk first then it opens fine in Reader. I've given the file a simple short filename, without spaces so not sure what else to try. Any suggestions are very welcome.

    In my application I have created a SplashScreen that will b shown for 5 Seconds and after that it executes an if else case depending upon the values stored in the Preference file. If Preference file contains values then the AsyncTask code will run else the Login form will load. When i try to run my application. The thread is going to the Login form with the help of intent but when it comes to AsyncTask my application shows a force close error message.   • datagrid doesn't refresh on changed data

    Hi. I have 2 datagrids with data that binds at loadtime in xaml. Then I have a button that inserts a row in the database, but rows aren't added to the datagrids when I press the button. I would like a fix that doesn't just add a gridrow, but actually refreshes the data and fetches the new row from the db. I'm using riaservices, so if that opens up to any tools that can help me, please let me know? thx in advance :D

    Is there a way to sort Devexpress QuantumGrid rows on data from a different column other than the one whose header has been clicked? For example, when the header of column A is clicked the rows of the grid are sorted on the data from column B. Visually it should still appear that it is column A that has been sorted as the sort glyphys will be shown in column A's header.

    I have sixteen servers using Log4J logs, accessible by ssh. I want to see the output of all logs on my desktop machine. Apache Chainsaw can presumably do this, but the documentation isn't getting me there. "Put all the jars into your ~/.chainsaw directory", got that. "Chainsaw will automatically use the functionality in those JARs"? Nope. Chainsaw isn't picking up log4j-chainsaw-vfs.jar, by the look of it, so sftp is out. Any suggestions other than Chainsaw?

  • Move jQuery data() when an element is destroyed and re-created

    Can anyone think of a (preferably quick) way to move the data() attached to a DOM element to a new instance of itself? The lightbox plugin I'm using deletes and re-appends and element to the page in order to display it in the lightbox (to aviod the multiple-ids issue that ASP.net has), and obviously the .data() that is attached to the element is lost when this happens.

Is there a site that has a lot of ASP.net WebForms projects that are downloadable? Books seem to focus on narrow aspects of using Webforms, like session control, or using master pages, but I'm looking for examples of how a whole app comes together.   • .NET AxWebBrowser can't open page "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" error

    Oh, I am stuck again on this quiet annoying problem. I am trying to do a little automated browsing using the axWebBrowser component and it worked before. Now all of a sudden I get the following message when I try to browse to a page. Navigation to the webpage was canceled What you can try: Refresh the page. I totally disabled my firewall, ran VS2008 in Administrator mode, I even installed IE8 all to no avail. By the way IE8 doesn't work either. I don't know if the problem is related but all I get when I put a URL into IE8 is this message. Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage I don't so much mind that, I just really need to get my visual studio axWebBrowser working.

  • Open-source generic web service to database interface?

    I'm looking for a thin, generic layer (probably written in PHP) that sits between a database (probably MySQL) and web service clients (which could be anything). I imagine there would be config files of some sort that tell it how to map web service requests to database queries (or other DB commands). It would also need to handle authentication and authorization, of course. I've done some googling but failed to find anything that fits the bill. Can anyone suggest something like this?
