  • Grep the whole body of a function

    - by dotancohen
    Supposing I know that someFile.php contains the definition for someFunction(). How would I go about displaying the whole body of the function in stdout? If I know that the body is 10 lines long then I would use cat someFile.php | grep -A 10 "function someFunction" [1] but in reality the function could be any arbitrary length. I figured that with sed I could use Vimesque commands such as /function someFunction<Return>/{<Return>% [2] but I can't figure out exactly how to format it. Ideally, the PHPDoc before the function would be output along with the function. Any help or links to the appropriate fine manual would be appreciated. Thanks! [1] I know that the cat is redundant, but I find this format easier to read. [2] Find the function definition, go to the opening brace, go to the close brace

  • Order of calls to set functions when invoking a flex component

    - by Jason
    I have a component called a TableDataViewer that contains the following pieces of data and their associated set functions: [Bindable] private var _dataSetLoader:DataSetLoader; public function get dataSetLoader():DataSetLoader {return _dataSetLoader;} public function set dataSetLoader(dataSetLoader:DataSetLoader):void { trace("setting dSL"); _dataSetLoader = dataSetLoader; } [Bindable] private var _table:Table = null; public function set table(table:Table):void { trace("setting table"); _table = table; _dataSetLoader.load(_table.definition.id, "viewData", _table.definition.id); } This component is nested in another component as follows: <ve:TableDataViewer width="100%" height="100%" paddingTop="10" dataSetLoader="{_openTable.dataSetLoader}" table="{_openTable.table}"/> Looking at the trace in the logs, the call to set table is coming before the call to set dataSetLoader. Which is a real shame because set table() needs dataSetLoader to already be set in order to call its load() function. So my question is, is there a way to enforce an order on the calls to the set functions when declaring a component?

  • Find slow/ineffecient method calls in dotnet

    - by Matt Thrower
    Hi, I'm faced with a big old stack of method calls in some legacy code, one or some of which is creating a bottleneck and really slowing things down. Is there any quick way I can get a report on which method calls are taking the time, short of running in debug, stepping through and seeing where the cursor pauses?

  • JavaScript regular expression literal persists between function calls

    - by Charles Anderson
    I have this piece of code: function func1(text) { var pattern = /([\s\S]*?)(\<\?(?:attrib |if |else-if |else|end-if|search |for |end-for)[\s\S]*?\?\>)/g; var result; while (result = pattern.exec(text)) { if (some condition) { throw new Error('failed'); } ... } } This works, unless the throw statement is executed. In that case, the next time I call the function, the exec() call starts where it left off, even though I am supplying it with a new value of 'text'. I can fix it by writing var pattern = new RegExp('.....'); instead, but I don't understand why the first version is failing. How is the regular expression persisting between function calls? (This is happening in the latest versions of Firefox and Chrome.) Edit Complete test case: <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8"> <title>Test Page</title> <style type='text/css'> body { font-family: sans-serif; } #log p { margin: 0; padding: 0; } </style> <script type='text/javascript'> function func1(text, count) { var pattern = /(one|two|three|four|five|six|seven|eight)/g; log("func1"); var result; while (result = pattern.exec(text)) { log("result[0] = " + result[0] + ", pattern.index = " + pattern.index); if (--count <= 0) { throw "Error"; } } } function go() { try { func1("one two three four five six seven eight", 3); } catch (e) { } try { func1("one two three four five six seven eight", 2); } catch (e) { } try { func1("one two three four five six seven eight", 99); } catch (e) { } try { func1("one two three four five six seven eight", 2); } catch (e) { } } function log(msg) { var log = document.getElementById('log'); var p = document.createElement('p'); p.innerHTML = msg; log.appendChild(p); } </script> </head> <body><div> <input type='button' id='btnGo' value='Go' onclick='go();'> <hr> <div id='log'></div> </div></body> </html> The regular expression continues with 'four' as of the second call on FF and Chrome, not on IE7 or Opera.

  • Detect outgoing calls and problem with a real device

    - by Tobia Loschiavo
    Hi, I have a strange problem. To detect outgoing calls I have registered a broadcast receiver for android.intent.action.PHONE_STATE. When the state becomes OFFHOOK, then a conversation is started. It seems working on emulator: the debugger in fact reaches some code while it doesn't work on real device (Acer Liquid). Is it possible? Which is a way to detect outgoing calls? Thanks

  • Javascript global object calls function?

    - by Troels
    Hello stackoverflow I have a very odd problem with javascript. My code is rather long so here is an example of the structure and the problem: var x = new function f() { this.id = ""; } function g(obj) { if (x.id == "") { ... obj.firstChild.setAttribute("onclick", "javascript:o();"); ... x.id = obj.id; } else if (x.id != obj.id) { ... x.id = ""; g(obj); } } function o() { ... if (something == something) { ... } else { ... x.id = ""; // if-statement of the g() function is called here? } } As you can see, the if-statement of the g() function is for some reason called or re-run upon x.id being changed. I simply cannot understand this, because they are not in the same scope, and changing a variable should under no circumstances trigger anything? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • .net Generic Calls <T>

    - by Ryan
    I have a function that accepts a generic parameter T that is of type class like so : public Func<T, bool> MyMethod<T>(string paramName, object value) where T : class But when calling the function I do not have direct access to the class that needs to be the parameter. MyMethod<foo>("foo1", "foo2") Is there a way I can get the class foo via other means like reflection so I can use the function?

  • Confused about theme function calls.

    - by Nick Lowman
    I've created a content type that has a CCK text field. When I select the text field using the Drupal Themer widget it tells me the last function called was theme_text_formatter_default() , which I found in the CCK text.module It also tells me that it's parents were; content-field.tpl.php < theme_markup < theme_markup < node.tpl.php < page.tpl.php So I assumed that somewhere in the content-field.tpl.php was the function call to theme('text_formatter_default',$element) but it wasn't in there. Just print $item['view'] used to display the content. I searched all the project files for theme('text_formatter_default',$element) and it doesn't exist. I know it's being called by the theme function as I override it in my template.php and it used my overridden function, which would only happen if was using the theme_hook$. Wouldn't it? So how is it being called? It's not that I need to override it. I'm just learning how drupal works and thought I had it sussed until this. Something must be calling it. Also, the function theme_text_formatter_default exists in the theme registry and it's overridable (if that's a word) as I did so in my template.php and it displayed. It's all quite confusing. Any help would be much appreciated

  • HTML form never calls Javascript

    - by user1205577
    I have a set of radio buttons defined in HTML like so: <input type="radio" name="group" id="rad1" value="rad1" onClick="doStuff(this.id)">Option 1<br> <input type="radio" name="group" id="rad2" value="rad2" onClick="doStuff(this.id)">Option 2<br> Just before the </body> tag, I have the following JavaScript behavior defined: <script type="text/javascript"> /*<![CDATA[*/ function doStuff(var id){ alert("Doing stuff!"); } /*]]>*/ </script> When I run the program, the page loads as expected in my browser window and the radio buttons allow me to click them. The doStuff() function, however, is never called (I validated this using breakpoints as well). I also tried the following just to see if inline made the difference, but it seems the JavaScript is never called at all: <script type="text/javascript"> /*<![CDATA[*/ alert("JavaScript called!"); main(); function main(){ var group = document.getElementsByName('group'); for(var i=0; i<group.length; i++){ group[i].onclick = function(){ doStuff(this.id); }; } } /*]]>*/ </script> My question is, is there something special I need to do using HTML and JavaScript in this context? My question is not whether I should be using inline function calls or whether this is your favorite way to write code.

  • Call random function on percents?

    - by Angelena Godkin
    I cannot figure this out. I need a solution to call a random function for it's percent. Ex. there is 10% chances that the script calls subscriptions() and 3% chance that the system call the function "specialitems()". I am stuck in this, so i hope someone can help me with this brainkiller. <?php class RandomGifts { public $chances = ''; public function __construct($user) { $this->user = $user; //Find percent for each function $this->chances = array( 'subscriptions' => 10, // 10% 'specialitems' => 3, // 5% 'normalitems' => 30, // 40% 'fuser' => 50, // 70% 'giftcards' => 7, // 7% ); //This should call the function which has been calculated. self::callFunction(?); } public function subscriptions(){} public function specialitems(){} public function normalitems(){} public function fuser(){} public function giftcards(){} } ?>

  • Is it possible to create a link that acts like a button and can carry out a function when clicked?

    - by Tim
    In PHP, I want to execute a function when a hyperlink is clicked. The only way I can think of doing this is by having the link attach a get parameter to the url when clicked and by doing an if statement that checks to see if that parameter exists and if so then have the function executed. But is there a way to do this like: <a href='#' onclick='<?php functionName(); ?>'> Obviously there are a million things wrong with this example but is it possible in any other way?

  • How to resolve high CPU + excessive stat("/etc/localtime") and clock_gettime(CLOCK_REALTIME) calls

Content of my /etc/localtime: TZif2UTCTZif2UTC UTC0 Have tried the recommended fix for the leapsecond bug: date -s 'date' No joy so far. I'm fresh out of ideas so any help/advice on how to diagnose or resolve would be greatly appreciated.

  • Set Covering : Runtime hang\error at function call in c

    - by EnthuCrazy
    I am implementing a set covering application which uses cover function int cover(set *skill_list,set *player_list,set *covering) Suppose skill_set={a,b,c,d,e}, player_list={s1,s2,s3} then output coverin ={s1,s3} where say s1={a,b,c}, s3={d,e} and s2={b,d}. Now when I am calling this function it's hanging at run (set_cover.exe stopped working). Here is my cover function: typedef struct Spst_{ void *key; set *st; }Spst; int cover(set *skill_list,set *player_list,set *covering) { Liste *member,*max_member; Spst *subset; set *intersection; void **data; int max_size; set_init(covering); //to initialize set covering initially while(skill_list->size>0&&player_list->size>0) { max_size=0; for(member=player_list->head;member!=NULL;member=member->next) { if(set_intersection(intersection,((Spst *)(member->data))->st,skill_list)!=0) return -1; if(intersection->size>max_size) { max_member=member; max_size=intersection->size; } set_destroy(intersection); //at the end of iteration } if(max_size==0) //to check for no covering return -1; subset=(Spst *)max_member->data; //to insert max subset from play list to covering set set_inselem(covering,subset); for(member=(((Spst *)max_member->data)->st->head);member!=NULL;member=member->next) //to rem elem from skill list { data=(void **)member->data; set_remelem(skill_list,data); } set_remelem(player_list,(void **)subset); //to rem subset from set of subsets play list } if(skill_list->size>0) return -1; return 0; } Now assuming I have defined three set type sets(as stated above) and calling from main as cover(skills,subsets,covering);=> runtime hang Here Please give inputs on the missing link in this or the prerequisites for a proper call to this function type required. EDIT: Assume other functions used in cover are tested and working fine.

  • How can I clear explosions in my function?

    - by hustlerinc
    Hi I have a function to place bombs, and a for loop that places explosions on the tiles where possible. My problem is that I can't remove the explosions after a while. I've tried everything I can come up with so now I turn here as a last resort. The function looks like this: function Bomb(){ var placebomb = false; if(placeBomb && player.bombs != 0){ map[player.Y][player.X].object = 2; var bombX = player.X; var bombY = player.Y; placeBomb = false; player.bombs--; setTimeout(explode, 3000); } function explode(){ var explodeNorth = true; var explodeEast = true; var explodeSouth = true; var explodeWest = true; map[bombY][bombX].explosion = 1; delete map[bombY][bombX].object; for(i=0;i<=player.bombRadius;i++){ if(explodeNorth && map[bombY-i][bombX]){ if(!map[bombY-i][bombX].wall){ if(!map[bombY-i][bombX].object){ map[bombY-i][bombX].explosion = 1; } else var explodeNorth = false; delete map[bombY-i][bombX].object; map[bombY-i][bombX].explosion = 1; } else var explodeNorth = false; } if(explodeEast && map[bombY][bombX+i]){ if(!map[bombY][bombX+i].wall){ if(!map[bombY][bombX+i].object){ map[bombY][bombX+i].explosion = 1; } else var explodeEast = false; delete map[bombY][bombX+i].object; map[bombY][bombX+i].explosion = 1; } else var explodeEast = false; } if(explodeSouth && map[bombY+i][bombX]){ if(!map[bombY+i][bombX].wall){ if(!map[bombY+i][bombX].object){ map[bombY+i][bombX].explosion = 1; } else var explodeSouth = false; delete map[bombY+i][bombX].object; map[bombY+i][bombX].explosion = 1; } else var explodeSouth = false; } if(explodeWest && map[bombY][bombX-i]){ if(!map[bombY][bombX-i].wall){ if(!map[bombY][bombX-i].object){ map[bombY][bombX-i].explosion = 1; } else var explodeWest = false; delete map[bombY][bombX-i].object; map[bombY][bombX-i].explosion = 1; } else var explodeWest = false; } } player.bombs++; } } If anyone can think of a good way to remove the explosion after a delay please help.

    I'm writing an application in C that requires multiple threads to request a unique transaction ID from a function as shown below; struct list{ int id; struct list *next }; function generate_id() { linked-list is built here to hold 10 millions } my concern is how to sync between two or more threads so that transaction id can be unique among them without using mutex, is this possible? Please share anything even if I need to change linked list to something else.
