    I get the following error when trying to sign up for the Azure 90-day free trial: We can't authorize the payment method. Please make sure the information is correct, or use another payment method. If you continue to get this message, please contact your financial institution. I've tried three different cards, two credit and one debit. Those cards are issued from two different banks. I've also tried the cards on two separate accounts. Someone from my work also confirmed that he could not sign up for the free trial either. Has anyone else had this problem? I haven't really seen much help searching Google and the support staff doesn't seem interested in helping people sign up for free accounts.

  • Free (Or Cheap) Alternatives For An SSL Certificate For Facebook Apps

    In October (from what I remember) Facebook will require HTTPS connections to pages and app's that are hosted away from Facebook. At the moment, it comes up with a popup saying "do you want to turn secure browsing off". I think (as far as I know) that once October comes people won't be able to access these pages any more. Now, I know you have to pay for good SSL certificates. However, for a lot of clients this is just going to be a Facebook page, and not mission critical to their businesses. With this in mind, they may not want to pay for an SSL certificate. I was wondering if there are any free SSL certificates that could do the job? Even if there are no free ones, are there any cheap alternatives? Also, if you do use a free certificate, will it still work in the same way as a paid for certificate?

    We have a number of sites that have blogs, like domainA.com/blog domainB.com/blog and we host the blogs on wordpress multi user: our-separate-wordpress-site.com/domaina_blog our-separate-wordpress-site.com/domainb_blog for SEO reasons we really, really want domainA.com/blog to be the blog url, not the other path. But we don't see any examples where this is done, because we need not to just rewrite the traffic, but cookies as well... is this possible with a webserver or a reverse proxy?

    I have a out-of-process COM server with an ATL Simple Object which creates another thread. The new thread will need to make calls to ATL Simple object. Since ATL Simple Object and new thread are created different apartments, ATL Simple Object needs to be marshalled in the new thread, otherwise error 0x8001010e will be generated. How do I marshall COM Object on the server side or Am I missing something? Many thanks.

    In COM, when you want to create an instance of some COM Server object, do you first need to get a pointer to it's IUnknown interface and only then create a class object using CoGetClassObject? As far as I understand it, IUnknown is used to manage object lifetimes, so from my understanding, whatever object the client wants to create, one needs a pointer to it's IUnknown interface implementation first. Sound correct? If not, can anyone tell me how it works?

    I am not able to SSH into my ubuntu server since yesterday. I am not using any keyless or public key method.. Its simple SSH with username and password everytime.. However I can do a VNC session running on my ubuntu server.. But I am afraid that if the vnc session goes out, I wont be having any way to login to the server..     I have the following folder structure. myFolder and testFolder have same folders underneath it and I want to exclude only my1 from testFolder and not myFolder "myFolder" which has -my1 -my2 -my3 "testFolder" which has -my1 -my2 -my3 I am trying to use exclude tag along with included folders while creating a tar file. This is what i have, but it doesnot seem to work. tar -cvf base.tar "/sam/myFolder" "/sam/testFolder" --exclude="/sam/testFolder/my1" I want to exclude my1 from testFolder and not myFolder. can you please suggest a possible solution.

Normally a method looks like this: public static (void/int/string) methodname((datatype) partameter) { return ...; } I had a thought whether can we implement the generics to this method like this: public static <T> methodname(<T> partameter) { return ...; } Using as a generic to define the datatype.     Hey, I need a regular expression to solve the following problem (links to similar problems is also appreciated, related tutorials etc.): __some_words_a_b___ => __some words a b___ ____ => ____ So I want underscores between words to be replaced with space and keep leading and trailing underscores. I found this: ^[ \t]+|[ \t]+$ and I guess it most be something like that. I will use it in jQuery, Java (stdlibs) and maybe XSLT. Addition: The sentences do not necessarily start with underscores or ends with underscores. It is also possible that a sentence ain't containing underscores at all. Best regards Lasse Espeholt

    I'm grabbing lines from a text file and sifting line by line using regular expressions. I'm trying to search for blank lines, meaning nothing or just whitespace. However, what exactly is empty space? I know that whitespace is \s but what is a line that is nothing at all? null (\0)? newline (\n)? I tried the test harness in the Java tutorial to try and test to see what an empty space is but no luck so far.
