• Installing psycopg2 (postgresql) in virtualenv on windows

  I installed psycopg2 in virtualenv using easy_install psycopg2. I did not see any errors and looks like installation went fine.. there is an egg file created in the site-packages dir for psycopg2.. but when I run import psycopg2 in the interpreter, I am getting following error.. any clue? How can I fix it.. any other way to install psycopg2 in virtualenv.. • When does a PHP <5.3.0 daemon script receive signals?

  I've got a PHP script in the works that is a job worker; its main task is to check a database table for new jobs, and if there are any, to act on them. But jobs will be coming in in bursts, with long gaps in between, so I devised a sleep cycle like: while(true) { if ($jobs = get_new_jobs()) { // Act upon the jobs } else { // No new jobs now sleep(30); } } Good, but in some cases that means there might be a 30 second lag before a new job is acted upon. Since this is a daemon script, I figured I'd try the pcntl_signal hook to catch a SIGUSR1 signal to nudge the script to wake up, like: $_isAwake = true; function user_sig($signo) { global $_isAwake; daemon_log("Caught SIGUSR1"); $_isAwake = true; } pcntl_signal(SIGUSR1, 'user_sig'); while(true) { if ($jobs = get_new_jobs()) { // Act upon the jobs } else { // No new jobs now daemon_log("No new jobs, sleeping..."); $_isAwake = false; $ts = time(); while(time() < $ts+30) { sleep(1); if ($_isAwake) break; // Did a signal happen while we were sleeping? If so, stop sleeping } $_isAwake = true; } } I broke the sleep(30) up into smaller sleep bits, in case a signal doesn't interrupt a sleep() command, thinking that this would cause at most a one-second delay, but in the log file, I'm seeing that the SIGUSR1 isn't being caught until after the full 30 seconds has passed (and maybe the outer while loop resets). I found the pcntl_signal_dispatch command, but that's only for PHP 5.3 and higher. If I were using that version, I could stick a call to that command before the if ($_isAwake) call, but as it currently stands I'm on 5.2.13. On what sort of situations is the signals queue interpreted in PHP versions without the means to explicitly call the queue parsing? Could I put in some other useless command in that sleep loop that would trigger a signal queue parse within there?

  I am using TFS2008 and within my TFSBuild.proj file I have a target that call xcopy to copy the build to the production website location for automation. • importing pywiiuse to test out

  This is probably a simple problem. But I downloaded the pywiiuse library from here and I also downloaded the examples. However when I try to run one of the examples I end up with import issues. I'm not certain I have everything configured properly to run. • Call stored procedure using Spring SimpleJdbcCall with callback

  I have an Oracle Stored procedure that takes CLOB input and REFCURSOR output. I invoke the SP via Spring SimpleJdbcCall passing in a RowMapper to map the results. However, since the result set is large, I need to provide callback feature to the client. I can't quite figure out how to add callback for an SP call using Spring - both with and without SimpleJdbcCall. One thought I have is to pass-in a RowCallbackHandler. Will this work or is there a better way to solve this problem?   Trying to migrate data from C: to D: via the SBS console is failing. The wizard starts running but drops out in the first few seconds.   I tried to find the answer of my question on the internet, but I could not. I have a simple entity in Core data that has a Value attribute (that is integer) and a Date attribute. I want to define two methods in my .m file. First method is the ADD method. It takes two arguments: an integer value (entered by user in UI) and a date (current date by default). and then insert a record into the entity based on the arguments. Second method is like an increment method. It uses the Date as a key to find a record and then increment the integer value of that record. I don't know how to write these methods. (assume that we have an Array Controller for the table in the xib file)

• Python equivalent of IDL's stop and .reset

  Hi there, I'm relatively new to python but have a bit of experience using IDL. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are equivalent commands in python for IDL's stop and .reset commands. If I'm running some IDL script I wrote that I put a stop command in, essentially what it does is stop the script there and give me access to the command line in the middle of the script. So I have access to all the functions and variables that I defined before the stop command, which I find really useful for debugging. The .reset command I find extremely useful too. What it does is reset the the IDL environment (clears all variables, functions, etc.). It's as if I closed that session and opened a new one, but without having to exit and restart IDL. I find that if I'm trying to debug a script I wrote it's useful sometimes to start from scratch and not have to reset IDL (or python now). It would be useful also in python to be able to un-import any modules I had previously imported. Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated.   Hi - I am searching for an XSLT or command-line tool (or C# code that can be made into a command-line tool, etc) for Windows that will do XML pretty-printing. Specifically, I want one that has the ability to put attributes one-to-a-line, something like: <Node> <ChildNode value1='5' value2='6' value3='happy' /> </Node> It doesn't have to be EXACTLY like that, but I want to use it for an XML file that has nodes with dozens of attributes and spreading them across multiple lines makes them easier to read, edit, and text-diff. NOTE: I think my preferred solution is an XSLT sheet I can pass through a C# method, though a Windows command-line tool is good too.

  Hi all i have a that contains a HORIZONTAL menu. the menu consists of an unordered list. i would like the div to get a horizontal scroller whenever the menu exceeds the width of the <div>. i tried using these CSS definitions for my <div>: position: absolute; width: 380px; overflow: auto; overflow-y: hidden; height: 30px; but than realized that since the menu is LIST, the different list items break the line whenever they reach the width of the <div> and move on to the next line, thus the browser doesnt see the need for a horizontal scroller (it doesnt display a vertical one as well because of the overflow-y: hidden; line) any ideas how i can create a 1 line horizontal menu which will scroll horizontally only? thank you all so much.

• ws-xmlrpc claims error on part of service but other clients work fine

  I've been trying to connect to an rTorrent instance using ws-xmlrpc and it just isn't going too well. Now, the URL I'm using is the same that I've been using when making sure that rTorrent's XMLRPC support is fine (which it appears to be since both a native OS X application and a small python script I threw together appear to be able to talk to it just fine without any errors). However, when I try using ws-xmlrpc to connect I get org.apache.xmlrpc.XmlRpcException: Failed to create input stream: Unexpected end of file from serverat the top of my stack trace followed by a bunch of steps down to: java.net.SocketException: Unexpected end of file from server at sun.net.www.http.HttpClient.parseHTTPHeader(HttpClient.java:769) ... So basically, it seems that ws-xmlrpc is convinced that the reply from rTorrent is malformed somehow but other libraries apparently have no problem with it. • Why PartCover report shows 0% when mstest runs successfully and all tests pass

  Hello, I'm trying to get code coverage with mstest tests. I'm using PartCover 2.2.0.36424. The problem is with real assemblies, I get 0% code coverage (Note: All tests pass). On demo test for demo source that I created, it worked fine (the report makes sense). I noticed that in log file: for demo files, after line "Assembly AAAAAA loaded (MyTestesAssemblyName)", there is line "Class NNNNNN loaded (MyTestesAssemblyName.MyClassname)"; and for the real files ther is no second line (for class) after the line for assembly. Have any ideas what is different in our assemblies? (Note: they are not signed) 10x.

• Turning off auto indent when pasting text into vim

  Unfortunately, I am not an experienced vim user. But, I am making the effort to learn it. When I paste code into my document from the clipboard, I get extra spaces at the start of each new line: line line line I know you can turn off auto indent but mine doesn't seem to work because I have some other settings conflicting or something (which look pretty obvious in my .vimrc but don't seem to matter when I take them out). Can someone please show me the way to turn this off when I paste code but still have vim auto indent when I am writing code? The problems include: Too many data points for the trend line Trend line does not follow a Bezier curve (spline) The source of the problem is with the incrementer class. • Is it possible to stream a file to and from servers without holding the data in ram?

  Hi everyone! PHP question (new to PHP after 10 years of Perl, arrggghhh!). I have a 100mb file that I want to send to another server. I have managed to read the file in and "post" it without curl (cannot use curl for this app). Everything is working fine on smaller files. However, with the larger files, PHP complains about not being able to allocate memory. Is there a way to open a file, line by line, and send it as a post ALSO line by line? This way nothing is held in ram thus preventing my errors and getting around strict limitations. Chris

  I have a large textfile, which has linebreaks at column 80 due to console width. Many of the lines in the textfile are not 80 characters long, and are not affected by the linebreak. In pseudocode, this is what I want: Iterate through lines in file If line matches this regex pattern: ^(.{80})\n(.+) Replace this line with a new string consisting of match.group(1) and match.group(2). Just remove the linebreak from this line. If line doesn't match the regex, skip! Maybe I don't need regex to do this?

  I'm building a process which extracts data from 6 csv-style files and two poorly laid out .txt reports and builds output CSVs, and I'm fully aware that there's going to be some overhead searching through all that whitespace thousands of times, but I never anticipated converting about about 50,000 records would take 12 hours. My Scanner id is scanning a java.util.String, figured buffering it to memory would reduce I/O since the search here is being performed thousands of times on a relatively small file. The performance increase compared to scanning a BufferedReader(FileReader(File)) was probably less than 1%, the process still looks to be taking a LONG time. I've also traced execution and the slowness of my overall conversion process is definitely between the first and last like of the lookup method. In fact, so much so that I ran a shortcut process to count the number of occurrences of various identifiers in the .csv-style files (I use 2 lookup methods, this is just one of them) and the process completed indexing approx 4 different identifiers for 50,000 records in less than a minute. Compared to 12 hours, that's instant. Some notes (updated): I don't necessarily need the pattern-matching behaviour, I only get the first field of a line of text so I need to match line breaks or use Scanner.nextLine(). All ID numbers I need start at position 0 of a line and run through til the first block of whitespace, after which is the name of the corresponding object. I would ideally want to return a String, not an int locating the line number or start position of the result, but if it's faster then it will still work just fine. If an int is being returned, however, then I would now have to seek to that line again just to get the ID; storing the ID of every line that is searched sounds like a way around that. Anything to help me out, even if it saves 1ms per search, will help, so all input is appreciated. Thankyou! Usage scenario 1: I have a list of objects in file A, who in the old-style system have an id number which is not in file A. It is, however, POSSIBLY in another csv-style file (file B) or possibly still in a .txt report (file C) which each also contain a bunch of other information which is not useful here, and so file B needs to be searched through for the object's full name (1 token since it would reside within the second column of any given line), and then the first column should be the ID number. If that doesn't work, we then have to split the search token by whitespace into separate tokens before doing a search of file C for those tokens as well. Much like a person's name. As per a comment, I will pre-compile the regex for my objectSearchToken, which is just [\r\n]+. What's ending up happening in file C is, every single line is being checked, even the 95% of lines which don't contain an ID number and object name at the start. Would it be quicker to use ^[\r\n]+.*(objectname) instead of two separate regexes? It may reduce the number of _match executions. The more general case of that would be, concatenate all tokensBefore with all tokensAfter, and put a .* in the middle. It would need to be matching backwards through the file though, otherwise it would match the correct line but with a huge .* block in the middle with lots of lines. The above situation could be resolved if I could get java.util.Scanner to return the token previous to the current one after a call to findWithinHorizon. I have another usage scenario.
