    My config: ubuntu server 9 and msyql 5 my.cnf = bind-address = 0.0.0.0 my iptables script = iptables -A INPUT -i eth0 -s 99.88.77.66 -p tcp --destination-port 3306 -j ACCEPT I can connect from any place to mysql, not only that IP. I made a iptables-save , /etc/init.d/netwokring restart... but I still can connect from any IP, any clue ?

I would strongly prefer NOT to clear the routing table, since this is a production server.     I have a RAID-5 array of 4x1TB hard disks with one lvm2 partition on Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS. One of the disks has failed. I have re-assembled the array without this failed disk but now mdadm --examine claims the array has no superblock and fdisk says it has no partition table.   • SQL Server 2008 Replication: Snap Shot Agent timing out on a specific table

    Hi all, I am going through the process of setting up a transactional replication on my set up. However, I am unable to generate a full snap shot of my database. I keep getting stuck at the same particular point of the process. From snapshot agent: [46%] The process is running and is waiting for a response from the server Other sources have mentioned increasing the timeout period but I do not think this is the problem as this occurs at around the 10 min mark, way within the default value of 1800s. So, I removed that article/table from the snapshot, and lo and behold, it works. So I was looking at the Schema of the table and in my identity column, the NOT FOR REPLICATION was set to TRUE. All my other tables have it set to FALSE. Could this be the source of the error? Also, I tried changing this to false via the GUI but got received a timeout error. Is there a script that allows me to change this? Thanks all.

  • Restoring MBR, partition table, and boot sector of memory card without data loss ("USBC")

    Abstract I have a FAT32 memory card that when inserted into a computer causes Windows to prompt to format it. The card is definitely not supposed to be blank and has a bunch of files on it. Symptoms Using a hex-editor/disk-viewer, I examined the card and found that several sectors/clusters have been overwritten with something that has a signature of USBC at the start of the sector. Specifically, the master boot record (and partition table) is gone (hence Windows thinking the card is blank and needing to be formatted), as are the boot sectors (they have the USBC signature and a volume label of NO NAME and partition type of FAT32). Fortunately, it looks like both copies of the FAT are almost entirely intact (a few FAT entries at the start of a cluster here and there seem to be overwritten by USBC). The root directory is also nearly intact—I can see the volume label entry and subdirectory listings, but one sector is overwritten. (There are no more instances of USBC after the last one in the FAT2.) Hypothesis These observations seem to indicate some sort of virus that erases a few key filesystem structures, and then overwrites a few extra sectors here and there. Googling it seems to corroborate the idea of a virus, except that others report a file called USBC which does not apply here, and in fact, could not be possible since there is no filesystem to even see files. I cannot find any information about a virus with these symptoms, nor a removal tool. (I can't help but wonder if it is actually due to an autorun virus prevention tool.) Question I can likely fix the FAT corruption since they are mostly contiguous chains and maybe even the lost sector of the root directory, but does anyone know of a convenient way to restore or (re)create the MBR/partition table and boot sectors (without formatting or overwriting the data)?

    I was running a m1.small instance ec2 ubuntu instance. I was running out of disk space, so I upgraded my instance to medium. When I upgraded I actually got 429.5 GB of space and after that I added 10 gb of volume too. When I run the "sudo fdisk -l" command I got this results.   • XP - ping changes routing table?

    Hey Folks, I have got a real strange behaviour with one of my XP-Sp3 machines. Setup: A Server in the lan (192.168.5.0) proviedes access to all roadwarriors in 10.8.0.0 The DCHP has a static route for all clients pronouncing 192.168.5.235 as gateway for 10.8.0.0 All Clients can ping & access the vpn-machines; everything works like a charm But one Xp-Sp3 is not willing to connect to them. It gets all the same routes as any other sytem in the lan and I trippel-checked - there are no static routes on this machine When I ping any 10.8.0.0 device from this machine, the first two packaged work like a charm; but the next two (and any package after them) fail and get lost. When I look back into the routing table: There is a new route; a special one just for the device I pinged, which points to the right gateway - but which wasn't there earlier... As Long as this route exists the machine can't ping anything on 10.8.0.0. But if I remove the route by hand: The next to ping packages work fine... Has anybody got an idea about that? Anybody every seen such a behaviour?     In my haproxy configs I'm setting a stick-table of size 5 that stores every incoming IP address (for 1 minute), and it is set as nopurge so new entries won't get stored in the table. What I'd like to have happen is that they would get denied, but that isn't happening. The stick-table line is: stick-table type ip size 5 expire 1m nopurge store gpc0 And the whole configs are: global maxconn 30000 ulimit-n 65536 log 127.0.0.1 local0 log 127.0.0.1 local1 debug stats socket /var/run/haproxy.stat mode 600 level operator defaults mode http timeout connect 5000ms timeout client 50000ms timeout server 50000ms backend fragile_backend tcp-request content track-sc2 src stick-table type ip size 5 expire 1m nopurge store gpc0 server fragile_backend1 A.B.C.D:80 frontend http_proxy bind *:80 mode http option forwardfor default_backend fragile_backend I have confirmed (connecting to haproxy's stats using socat readline /var/run/haproxy.stat) that the stick-table fills up with 5 IP addresses, but then every request after that from a new IP just goes straight through -- it isn't added to the stick-table, nothing is removed from the stick-table, and the request is not denied. What I'd like to do is deny the request if the stick-table is full. Is this possible? I'm using haproxy 1.5.

    So I have a table in Excel with formulas. When I add a new row, the new row automatically fills in the formulas as well, which is great. My problem is that it also changes the formula in the row above the added row as well. Here's what happens specifically: My table's last row is row 24. A formula I have in that row is the following: =COUNTIF(C$11:C24,"y")/(COUNTIF(C$11:C24,"Y")+COUNTIF(C$11:C24,"N")) When I add in data in row 25 the formula is updated in row 25 as well, which is what I want, to the following: =COUNTIF(C$11:C25,"y")/(COUNTIF(C$11:C25,"Y")+COUNTIF(C$11:C25,"N")) My problem is that the row above also updates - my row 24 changes to the same as row 25 (the C24 goes to C25). Why is my row 24 formula changing when I add a row 25? Note, my formulas above row 24 stay the same when I add in row 25 - only row 24 changes when I add in 25. Is there a way to not update the row above the row being added? This problem continues when additional rows are added - If I add in a row 26, then the formula in rows 24-26 then all reference C26. Why are they all updating?

  • Layout problem: scrollview inside a table, inside a custom dialog

    I have a layout problem which I can't fix. I've looked through many posts on here, and mine seems to be unique enough to post a question. I've created a custom Dialog which programmatically creates a 3 row table. The top and bottom rows have text, while the middle row contains a ScrollView, which contains a LinearLayout. That LinearLayout then contains some number of views (TextView in this example). Since I'm doing this programmatically, see the XML pseudocode below, and the actual code below that. What I would like to happen, is that when the height of the contained content in the LinearLayout gets too big, the ScrollView does its job, and the header and footer TextView's are always visible. The problem is that when the dialog gets big enough, the ScrollView appears to take over the whole dialog, and my footer TextView disappears off the screen. What can I do to make sure the footer TextView never disappears, but the ScrollView can still function?   • Hibernate many-to-many mapping not saved in pivot table

    I having problems saving many to many relationships to a pivot table. The way the pojos are created is unfortunately a pretty long process which spans over a couple of different threads which work on the (to this point un-saved) object until it is finally persisted. I associate the related objects to one another right after they are created and when debugging I can see the List of related object populated with their respective objects. So basically all is fine to this point.   • Space Between Table Rows

    This should be a simple problem, but I am have a tough time getting the html to display the way I want it... The problem is the space between my table rows...I don't want space between my rows. I just want my table to look like a spreadsheet with black borders. I am using a datalist and have a table in the datalist control's templates. I have been messing with this for a couple of hours now and I have tried a few different variations of CSS and table attributes. Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong?   • Can I use a single pointer for my hash table in C?

    I want to implement a hash table in the following manner: struct list { char *string; struct list *next; }; struct hash_table { int size; /* the size of the table */ struct list **table; /* the table elements */ }; Instead of struct hash_table like above, can I use: struct hash_table { int size; /* the size of the table */ struct list *table; /* the table elements */ }; That is, can I just use a single pointer instead of a double pointer for the hash table elements? If yes, please explain the difference in the way the elements will be stored in the table?

  • Resolving data redundancy up front

    Introduction As all of us do when confronted with a problem, the resource of choice is to ‘Google it’. This is where the plot thickens. Recently I was asked to stage data from numerous databases which were to be loaded into a data warehouse. To make a long story short, I was looking for a manner in which to obtain the table names from each database, to ascertain potential overlap.   As the source data comes from a SQL database created from dumps of a third party product,  one could say that there were +/- 95 tables for each database.   Yes I know that first instinct is to use the system stored procedure “exec sp_msforeachdb 'select "?" AS db, * from [?].sys.tables'”. However, if one stops to think about this, it would be nice to have all the results in a temporary or disc based  table; which in itself , implies additional labour. This said,  I decided to ‘re-invent’ the wheel. The full code sample may be found at the bottom of this article.   Define a few temporary tables and variables   declare @SQL varchar(max); declare @databasename varchar(75) /* drop table ##rawdata3 drop table #rawdata1 drop table #rawdata11 */ -- A temp table to hold the names of my databases CREATE TABLE #rawdata1 (    database_name varchar(50) ,    database_size varchar(50),    remarks Varchar(50) )     --A temp table with the same database names as above, HOWEVER using an --Identity number (recNO) as a loop variable. --You will note below that I loop through until I reach 25 (see below) as at --that point the system databases, the reporting server database etc begin. --1- 24 are user databases. This is the challenging part. @sql is a varchar(max) variable used to contain the ‘USE’ statement PLUS the’ insert ‘ code statements. We now initalize @kounter to 1 .   declare @kounter int; declare @databasename varchar(75); declare @sql varchar(max); set @kounter = 1   The Loop The astute reader will remember that the temporary table #rawdata11 contains our  database names  and each ‘database row’ has a record number (recNo). I am only interested in record numbers under 25. I now set the value of the temporary variable @DatabaseName (see below) .Note that I used the row number as a part of the predicate. Now, knowing the database name, I can create dynamic T-SQL to be executed using the sp_sqlexec stored procedure (see the code in red below). Finally, after all the tables for that given database have been placed in temporary table ##rawdata3, I increment the counter and continue on. Note that I used a global temporary table to ensure that the result set persists after the termination of the run.   • performance problem looping through table rows

    Hi, I am using jquery to loop through table rows and save the data. If the table has 200 rows it is performing slow. I am getting the javascript message "Stop Running this script" in IE when I call this method. Following is the code I am using to loop through table rows. The problem is that if ThingService.SetEnabled throws an error, I want to be able to display the error at the top of the table. I've tried a few things with Html.ValidationSummary() in the page but I can't get it to work. Note that I don't want to send the user to a separate page to do this, and I'm trying to do it without using any javascript. Am I going about displaying my table in the best way? How do I get the errors displayed in the way I want them to? I will end up with perhaps 40 small forms on the page. This approach comes largely from this article, but it doesn't handle the errors in the way I need to. Any takers?

I'm trying to generate the following table: <table> <tr class="person"> <td>First 1</td> <td>Last 1</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr class="child"> <td>First 1</td> <td>Last 1</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr class="child"> <td>First 2</td> <td>Last 2</td> <td>2</td> </tr> ... ... </table> Each person is a row and each of their children would be individual rows under the person row. This would repeat for each person in IEnumerable<Person>. Are there any grids or components that generate a table like this? I found MvcContrib's grid component, but it doesn't appear to be able to generate these child rows. Is there a way to extend MvcContrib's grid to do this?
