  • JavaScript: 2 window.opener.location.href statements with alert() in between not functioning

    I need to make a little JS app to scroll automatically through a list of URLs. I've chosen to have the functionality in a pop-up, for various reasons. The syntax to change the opening window's URL is: window.opener.location.href = "http://www.example.com"; This works fine with one URL, but if two statements are called, only one is executed. I experimented with an alert statement between two of the above statements, and the alert event made the second statement function properly: window.opener.location.href = "http://www.example1.com"; alert("hello world"); window.opener.location.href = "http://www.example2.com"; Question is: does anyone know how to get the first and second window.opener statements to work, without the intervening alert();? Also, how can I add a pause between the two statements, so that the second executes a couple of seconds after the first? Thanks so much!

    Hi, I am using the .Net memebership system, and uptil now I haven't had any real troubles with it. I now have a overlay where a user can create a profile. When the profile is created I just want to redirect to the same page, and not to the default page or the return url - which doesn't exists. I have tried to stop the FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage response, but with no effect: FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(username, false); // End the redirect so it doesnt redirect to default url (front-page) Response.End(); Response.Redirect(Request.RawUrl); Does anyone have an idea to how this can be solved?

  • GAE Having Tasks generate pages for user

    I have a web app that I would like to have the following functionality: user gives a url webapp gets json data from that url and others from same website (this can take anywhere from 1-10 seconds) webapp uses data to generate page for user With this approach, I believe that if the server is in the process of getting the data for one user, then the other user won't be able to load the page (server busy). I would like to avoid this if possible. It seems like the Google Tasks API would be useful for this, but I don't see how I can run the task, and then use the output of the task to generate the page (how would the main app know when the task was finished?) What is the best way to resolve this? Thanks in advance

    I've a domain called Modulo with some properties and a Controller with a method that create a object from model and save it, when execute save the shell show this error: La propiedad [{0}] de la clase [{1}] no puede ser nulo But if i set the constraint nullable to true, the error show again. I think that i should not set this cosntraint. The model is linked to a mysql table with all properties except id allow null. I think I am not doing something wrong here. Any advice?? I create the PHP side to access the database, and made the output as JSON.. I create the userdata.php in folder war. then I compile tesdb3 project. Folder tesdb3 and the userdata.php in war moved in local server(I use WAMP). I put the PHP in folder tesdb3.     I've a php script that has the following line: echo json_encode(array('success'=>'true','userid'=>$userid, 'data' => $array)); It returns the following: { "success": "true", "userid": "1", "data": [ { "id": "1", "name": "Trigger", "image": "", "subtitle": "", "description": "", "range1": null, "range2": null, "range3": null }, { "id": "2", "name": "DWS", "image": "", "subtitle": "", "description": "", "range1": null, "range2": null, "range3": null } ] } But when I call a jQuery ajax as below: $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'url', crossDomain: true, data: {name: name}, success: function(success, userid, data) { if (success = true) { document.write(userid); document.write(success); } } }); The userid is 'success'.     Hi all, I'm trying to pass some files from one app to another. I communicate the path (via a custom URL). The target application cannot read the file, citing errno 13 (permission denied). I've checked the permissions on file - they're 0644 (O+R), the permissions on directories all the way up to the root are 755 (O+RX). From a POSIX perspective, the file should be readable to any process and any user. Yet it's not. Any ideas, please? I can think of some workarounds. I could use a Web service (upload, get a cookie, communicate the cookie to the other app, other app downloads). I could also pass the actual file data in the URL - unelegant, and probably subject to length limitations. Clipboard is not supported on iPhone OS 2 IIRC.

Any idea how I can fix this? Either option.

  • Strange behaviour with mediaplayer and seekTo

    I'm implementing a custom video player because I need custom video controls. I have an app with only one activity, which on startup shall start playing a video right away. Now, the problem I have is: I don't want the video to start from the beginning, but from a later position. Therefore I do a seekTo(16867). Since seekTo is asynchronous, I place the start call of the mediaplayer (player.start()) in the onSeekComplete of the onSeekCompleteListener. The strange behaviour I experience though is that I can see/hear the video playing from the beginning for a few millisecs before it actually plays from/jumps to the position I seeked to. But - on the other hand - the Log output I call before the player.start returns the correct position 16867, where I seeked to.   • Problem with images in upload directory after upgrading WordPress to 3.0

    I've developed a WordPress plugin and it wordked well from WP 2.0 and up to WP 3.0rc1 (haven't tried rc2) but now with rc3 and milestone 3.0 a strange and irritating error appeared. If you check out my demo page you will se that none of the cover-images is working. they are in the same place as before but they can not be hotlinked or show up when i enter the correct url. if i move the img-directory from /wp-content/uploads/my-record-collection/ to /wp-content/uploads/ the images show up if i enter the url, but not if i move it back inside my "my-record-collection"-folder. anyone know what change in rc3(or maybe rc2) that made this bug appear and what can be done to fix it?

    As per the Q&A here, I'd like to implement a similar auto-versioning system for a web app running in JBoss 5. Is there anything already out there to do this sort of thing, or will I need to write something myself? To be clear: I am not using PHP. Not knowing much about PHP, I'm not sure what the Tomcat/JBoss analogs of PHP's .htaccess, etc. are. If I do have to write my own auto-versioning, where would I start? The principle is clear to me - rewriting the URL using the file's timestamp, but I don't know much about URL rewriting with JBoss/Tomcat.

    Hi I'm developing a phonegap + JQueryMobile app, which should be correctly executed on Android, iOs and WindowsPhone as well. I need to exploit an external service wich requires one callback url to redirect the app to in case of success, and one in case of error (pretty common situation. In my case both will be local files, say www/success.html and www/error.html). Of course I could write different paths for each device (e.g. file:///android_asset/www/success.html on Android), but i'm wondering if the framework provide a more simple elegant solution. So the questions is, how can i get a unique absolute URL wich allows me to perform a cross-platform HTTP redirection from a remote web page to a local file within a phonegap application? Thanks

    Hi, I am working on a shopping cart(open cart) software and have this question. I am not familiar with mvc framework. What i want to know how to show content(mysql) inside a div when you click on a link. There will be 8-10 links and clicking on each should fetch its corresponding products. So for example category 1 | category 2 | category 3 show [products from category 1] when clicked on "category 1" and same way for the other two. the problem is the url for each link will have the category id so when clicked it will fetch its own products inside this div. Can someone please guide me with an example available online? looking for some thing that can dynamically fetch contents from mysql inside this div. content change is based on the category id in the url of the links I am clicking on. regards

  • Relative links in CSS, after moving Wordpress

    I created a blog with Wordpress on a temporary test domain. I put it in the main directory, not a folder. Now I want to move it to the correct website, in a folder. I can update all of the MySQL values for the site URL, and the relative path links work just fine. The problem is that I can't seem to make my CSS path links work. I realize that my problem is that they are relative to the CSS file, in the WordPress theme, and not the page. But how can I fix this? Here is an example: #topNav {background:#3a93c3 url(wp-content/uploads/2011/07/blueNav.jpg) repeat-x;} I have tried adding './', '../', and '../../' to the beginning, but it doesn't work at all. Any suggestions?
