  • IPython doesn't work in Django shell

    - by Zemogle
I've just recently switched over to using 64-bit Python 2.6.1 on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). IPython won't work with Django anymore, but IPython works from the command-line. The error says: shell = IPython.Shell.IPShell(argv=[]) AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'Shell' I could use the ./manage.py --plain option, but it's not really a fix. Any help very gratefully received!

  • Variable Context Question

    - by Soo
    In the following code snippet, if I leave out the line of code that is surrounded by the /////'s, I get an error that reads: "Use of unassigned local variable CurrentDate". It seems a bit silly for me to just give CurrentDate an arbitrary value, is there a better way around this? DateTime CurrentDate; /////////////////////////// CurrentDate = DateTime.Now; /////////////////////////// if(1==1) { CurrentDate = DateTime.Now.AddDays(1); } if(CurrentDate == DateTime.Now) { ... }

  • Does MS Access 2010 have Tif image control display issue?

    - by ChuckB
We run MS Access as the front end for most of our business. When we upgraded from Access 2000 to Access 2003 the image control we used to print out Tif images failed to load Tifs anymore. A bit of Googling showed that MS did this intentionally and I'm wondering if the problem still happens in Access 2010. Can someone with a downloaded copy drop an image control on an Access 2010 form or report and try to get it to display a Tif file?

Thanks Andy

  • How to switch position of two items in a Python list?

    - by mikl
I haven’t been able to find a good solution for this problem on the net (probably because switch, position, list and Python are all such overloaded words). It’s rather simple – I have this list: ['title', 'email', 'password2', 'password1', 'first_name', 'last_name', 'next', 'newsletter'] I’d like to switch position of 'password2' and 'password1' – not knowing their exact position, only that they’re right next to one another and password2 is first. I’ve accomplished this with some rather long-winded list-subscripting, but I wondered if someone could come up with something a bit more elegant?

  • [PHP] Dots and spaces in variable names from external sources are converted to underscores

    - by Brandon
Trying a bit of AJAX, and I find that much of my data is littered with underscores! Documentation confirms that this is working as intended. Any way to pass my form information to PHP in tact? I'm using code igniter, so my pass looks like /controller/function/variable, receiving controller: controller{ function($v=0){#what once was hello world is now hello_world...} } I can't very well do an undo, data might contain an underscore. Thanks, Brandon

  • How can I match a twitter username with angular ui router

    - by user3929999
I need to be able to match a path like '/@someusername' with angular ui router but can't figure out the regex for it. What I have are routes like the following $stateProvider .state('home', {url:'/', templateUrl:'/template/path.html'}) .state('author', {url:'/{username:[regex-to-match-@username-here]}'}) .state('info', {url:'/:slug', templateUrl:'/template/path.html'}) .state('entry', {url:'/:type/:slug', templateUrl:'/template/path.html'}); I need a bit of regex for the 'author' route that will match @usernames. Currently, everything I try is caught by the 'entry' route.

  • How to convert HTML to XHTML?

    - by JRoppert
I need to convert HTML documents into valid XML, preferably XHTML. What's the best way to do this? Does anybody know a toolkit/library/sample/...whatever that helps me to get that task done? To be a bit more clear here, my application has to do the conversion automatically at runtime. I don't look for a tool that helps me to move some pages to XHTML manually.

  • Setting a variable to undefined

    - by AJ
Hello, I'm a bit confused about Javascript undefined & null. Firstly what does if (!testvar) actually do? Does it test for undefined and null or just undefined? Secondly, once a variable is defined can I clear it back to undefined (therefore deleting the variable). Thirdly, can I pass undefined as a parameter? e.g: function test(var1, var2, var3) { } test("value1", undefined, "value2") Thanks, AJ

  • Merits of .NET ORM data access methods Enity Framework vs. NHibernate vs. Subsonic vs. ADO.NET Datas

    - by Lloyd
I have recently heard "fanboys" of different .NET ORM methodologies express strong, if not outlandish oppinions of other ORM methodologies. And frankly feel a bit in the dark. Could you please explain the key merits of each of these .NET ORM solutions? Entity Framework NHibernate Subsonic ADO.NET Datasets I have a good understanding of 1&4, and a cursory understanding of 2&3, but apparently not enough to understand the implied cultural perceptions of one towards the other.

  • VB Classes Best Practice - give all properties values?

    - by Becky Franklin
Sorry if this is a bit random, but is it good practice to give all fields of a class a value when the class is instanciated? I'm just wondering if its better practice to have a constuctor that takes no parameters and gives all the fields default values, or whether fields that have values should be assigned and others left alone until required? I hope that makes sense, Becky

  • Why does Visual Studio sometimes add a number when creating page events in codebehinds?

    - by Kevin Pang
When writing up a codebehind in Visual Studio for ASP.NET web forms applications, I often use the dropdowns at the top of the window to autogenerate page event handlers (e.g. Page_Load, Page_PreRender). I've noticed that sometimes Visual Studio likes to add numbers to these function names like "Page_Load1" or "Page_PreRender2". Programatically speaking, this has no effect on the code. But stylistically, I find it a bit ugly. Is there any way to get rid of this behavior?

    - by Kjensen
What is the best editor for Autohotkey with regards to syntax hightlighting, command completion (intellisense), testing etc. I am doing a bit of Autohotkey programming, and being spoiled rotten by Visual Studio, I really miss these features - especially being new to the language/framework.

  • Oracle "Partition By" Keyword

    - by Nalandial
Can someone please explain what the "partition by" keyword does and give a simple example of it in action, as well as why one would want to use it? I have a SQL query written by someone else and I'm trying to figure out what it does. An example of partition by: SELECT empno, deptno, COUNT(*) OVER (PARTITION BY deptno) DEPT_COUNT FROM emp The examples I've seen online seem a bit too in-depth. Thanks in advance!

  • Will methods like POST and GET formally evolve someday?

    - by Jorge
The question may sound a bit naive or stupid, but i was wondering...will POST and GET evolve someday? What other methods exist besides those two? I was wondering specifically about server-pushes... why can't exist a method specifically for that? I don't even know if there's already something similar, and if there is, i apologize for my ignorance. The web is evolving, that's evident...will methods formally evolve too?
