  • Submitting form with Ajax

    - by Sidetracking
    So I'm completely lost on how to submit a form with Ajax. I'm fairly new to Javascript and hopefully I'm not in over my head. When I click submit on my form, nothing happens on my page, not in my SQL database where the info should be stored (double checked process form too). Here's the code if anyone's willing to help Javascript: $(document).ready(function() { $('#form').submit(function() { $.ajax({ url: "../process.php", type: "post", data: $(this).serialize() }); }); } HTML: <form name="contact" method="post" action="" id="form"> <span id="input"> <input type="text" name="first" maxlength="50" size="30" title="First Name" class="textbox"> <input type="text" name="last" maxlength="80" size="30" title="Last Name" class="textbox"> <input type="text" name="email" maxlength="80" size="30" title="Email" class="textbox"> <textarea name="request" maxlength="1000" cols="25" rows="6" title="Request"></textarea> </span> <input type="submit" value="Submit" class="submit"> </form>

  • Ant command line arguments

    - by js7354
    Program works fine when run with eclipse run configurations, but when run with ant, it is unable to parse int from args[0], which I do not understand. Full code is available here https://gist.github.com/4108950/e984a581d5e9de889eaf0c8faf0e57752e825a97 I believe it has something to do with ant, target name="run" description="run the project"> java dir="${build.dir}" classname="BinarySearchTree" fork="yes"> <arg value="6 in.txt"/> /java> /target> the arg value will be changed via the -D flag, as in ant -Dargs="6 testData1.txt" run. Any help would be much appreciated, it is very frustrating.

  • jQuery see if next element (not sibling) exists

    - by DevlshOne
    Here's my HTML code: <select class="grid_3 required jobData valid" id="clli" name="clli" style="font-size: 10px; border: none;"> <option value="0">Select One...</option> <option value="905"></option> <option value="931">0</option> <option value="1">ABRDMSES</option> </select> <img alt="This data has been changed!" title="This data has been changed!" src="images/caution.png"> <img alt="This data has been changed!" title="This data has been changed!" src="images/caution.png"> <img alt="This data has been changed!" title="This data has been changed!" src="images/caution.png"> <select class="grid_3 required jobData" id="job_status" name="job_status" style="font-size: 10px; border: none;"> <option value="0">Select One...</option> </select> When a $('#clli').change(); occurs, I slap a caution image next to it to warn the user that there are changes to be saved. However, if they make more than one change to the same element, I first want to see if there is already a caution image there before sending a new one. Any theories/methods on how to just scope out the next (but not $.next()) element?

  • Move links div aside h1, above tagline p

    - by noquierouser
    I have a page that has CSS media queries in it, and I was requested to do this: Mobile layout: Desktop layout: Now, the HTML code is placed like this: <div id="content"> <h1>the title</h1> <p>this is the tagline of the site</p> <ul> <li>link 1</li> <li>link 2</li> <li>link 3</li> </ul> </div> I'm having quite a problem trying to achieve the desktop layout. I tried wrapping <h1> and <p> in a <div> and style it with float: left, but it didn't look as requested (the tagline is wider). I also tried with position: absolute for the <ul>, but also didn't look as requested (make the #content wider is not an option). Do you have any suggestions to achieve this without using javascript? Update: I've uploaded the code to my Koding so you can see what I'm actually doing. This is the CSS. I'm also using normalize.css. The problem I'm having now is what do the different browsers show: I think the problem might be in how do the browsers calculate the tagline's width, but as you can try with the code, if you make the tagline's text shorter, it looks more like Opera's rendering. Have I stumbled with a bug or am I making some mistake in my CSS?

  • Call to a member function find() on a non-object simpleHTMLDOM PHP

    - by wandersolo
    I am trying to read a link from one page, print the url, go to that page, and read the link on the next page in the same location, print the url, go to that page (and so on...) All I'm doing is reading the url and passing it as an argument to the get_links() method until there are no more links. This is my code but it throws a Fatal error: Call to a member function find() on a non-object. Anyone know what's wrong? <?php $mainPage = 'https://www.bu.edu/link/bin/uiscgi_studentlink.pl/1346752597?ModuleName=univschr.pl&SearchOptionDesc=Class+Subject&SearchOptionCd=C&KeySem=20133&ViewSem=Fall+2012&Subject=&MtgDay=&MtgTime='; get_links($mainPage); function get_links($url) { $data = new simple_html_dom(); $data = file_get_html($url); $nodes = $data->find("input[type=hidden]"); $fURL=$data->find("/html/body/form"); $firstPart = $fURL[0]->action . • Wrapping <%= f.check_box %> inside <label>

    - by Ben Scheirman
    I have a list of checkboxes on a form. Due to the way the CSS is structured, the label element is styled directly. This requires me to nest the checkbox inside of the tag. This works in raw HTML, if you click on the label text, the state of the checkbox changes. It doesn't work with the rails <%= f.check_box %> helper, however, because it outputs a hidden input tag first. In summary, <label> <%= f.check_box :foo %> Foo </label> this is the output I want: <label> <input type="checkbox" ... /> <input type="hidden" ... /> Foo </label> ...but this is what rails is giving me: <label> <input type="hidden" ... /> <input type="checkbox" ... /> Foo </label> So the label behavior doesn't actually work :(. Is there any way to get around this?

  • How to display inline several <li> with 100% width?

    - by Rui
    Hi, I have the following html: <div id="container"> <ul> <li>element 1</li> <li>element 2</li> </ul> </div> applied with a css as follows: #container { width:100%; overflow:auto; } #container ul { width: 100%; } #container li { width: 100%; } So now I would like to have an indeterminate number of elements (<li>) all with 100% width (so they can adjust accordingly to the browser's window size) but all side by side, displaying the horizontal scroll bar in the container. I have tried putting "display:inline" on ul's css, and "float:left" on li's css, but with no success. Any suggestions? Also, try to consider I'm trying to make this as "cross-browser compatible" as possible. Thanks in advanced;

  • way to change value of h2 on div hover

    - by user3624298
    So basically making some concept logic for a project I am working on. Basically it's a portfolio and each box will be a picture and I want to be able to change the value of a h2 to some type of description. Right now it's just a black box so 'square1, square2, square3...etc' will work for now. I looked up some stuff on jquery and found this link from an SO answer. Basically what I need but he is only shifting through one piece of information instead of many in my case. Wondering how I can achieve that via jquery. I imagine I would need to make an array with all the descriptions I need, and (this is where I am lost) somehow attach the value of array to the square and then from there change text of h2 to the array value. Thanks for any help in advance here's what I have so far (not much just did some foundation work). Not sure if this matters but if there is no hover I want the h2 to say nothing. HTML (makes me post code if I have jsfiddle) <div class="squares"> <div class="square1"></div> <div class="square2"></div> <div class="square3"></div> <div class="square4"></div> <div class="square5"></div> <h2 class="squareIdent"> </h2> </div>

  • Javascript mouseover image failure

    - by CaptainTeancum
    This is what I have so far, I have been watching a ton of Javascript videos and I feel I mimicked them solid but this is still not functioning as I want. Than being, it changes from logo1 to logo2 on mousover. This is homework. However homework that is important to me so any help or guidance would be appreciated. </head> <body> <p> <div> <script type="text/javascript"> // Pre load images for rollover function imgOver(id) { document.getElementById(id).src="logo1.jpg"; } function imgOut(id) { document.getElementById(id).src="logo2.jpg"; } </script> <a href="#" onmouseover="imgOver('logo1');" onmouseout="imgOut('logo2')"> <img alt="logo" height="150" src="images/Logo1.jpeg" width="110" /> </a> </div> </body> </html>

  • How do I size a second div to be 100% height underneath a fixed image?

    - by mk
    I'm using semi-transparent PNGs (due to the designer's overlapping of elements) and trying to achieve a layout that represents the design while still working well on the web. Thus I have simple HTML: <div id="right"> <div id="welcome"></div> <div id="welcomeRepeatingBottom"></div> </div> And I'm trying to use CSS as follows: #right { height: 100%; position: absolute; right: 0px; top: 0px; width: 430px; } #welcome { background-image: url("welcome.png"); height: 614px; width: 430px; position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; } #welcomeRepeatingBottom { background: url("welcomeBottom.png") repeat-y; height: 100%; left: 0px; position: absolute; top: 614px; width: 430px; } The problem is...the #welcomeRepeatingBottom div can't overlap the #welcome div because of the transparency. What I really want is the #welcomeRepeatingBottom div to be height: 100% - 614px, but of course you can't do that. Am I missing something here or do I need to manipulate these values with JavaScript/JQuery?

  • 100% height for multiple divs

    - by kilrizzy
    I usually have my structure laid out something like this: <div id="all"> <div id="page"> <div id="header"></div> <div id="content"></div> <div id="footer"></div> </div> </div> Where the body will hold a background pattern, "all" will hold a dropshadow for the page going up and down, and "page" may often have a repeating-y background as well. I have tried variations on using the css height/min-height properties: html, body { height:100%; ... } #all { height:100%; min-height:100%; } #page { height:100%; min-height:100%; height:auto !important; } It seems like if I remove height:auto from "all" then it seems like it works UNTIL you scroll, then after the scroll the background for all dissappears example However if I keep the height:auto there then I get the problem of the background for page not working example Hopefully someone knows a fix?

  • How to integrate technical line/functional manager into Scrum team?

    - by thegreendroid
    We have recently had a new line manager start who is managing our Scrum team. He is immensely experienced in our field but is relatively inexperienced at Agile/Scrum. He has extensive technical expertise in embedded software (the team's domain) that would go to waste if not utilised properly. However, the team is wary of making a line manager part of the Scrum team. The general consensus is that the line manager should not be part of the Scrum team at all. There are a number of issues that may crop up, e.g. the team may start "reporting" to the manager (i.e. a daily status update!), the manager may start to micro-manage team members etc etc. As it currently stands, he has already said that he feels like an outsider within the team. We really want to make use of his technical skills, we'd be foolish if we didn't because we are a relatively inexperienced and young team of twenty somethings. What would be the best approach to integrate a senior "technical" line manager in a Scrum team and make him feel like he is part of the team?

  • How do I remove a malformed line from my sources.list?

    - by eminencejae
    I have unistalled and reinstalled the Ubuntu Software Center as per info I found in a similar thread and I got the same response about line 91 or something like that. I just tried to upload a screen shot but since I'm new it won't allow me to. I also can not figure out how to cut and paste anything so I have to hand type what the error screen says, both when I attempt to open the software center and nothing happens, when I try to enter commands into the terminal to uninstall, reinstall, whatever I get the same following: COULD NOT INTITIALIZE THE PACKAGE INFORMATION An unresolvable problem occured while initializing the package information Please report t:his bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message: 'E: Malformed line 91 in source list/etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse) E: The list of sources could not be read., E: The package list of status file could not be parsed or opened. How do I report bugs? What can be done about this. I have searched and everything everyone says to do leads me back to the same line error message. So, I don't know how to get to line 91 in the source list; to tell you what it says. Sorry, I'm really new to this. That is what I need is to find out how to get there and fix what it says. I would really like to NOT have to re partition my hard drive and start from scratch, so I'm really looking forward to getting this problem solved. I need to be able to install new software.

  • PHP: Convert <ul> <li> Tree HTML tag to an array

    - by marknt15
    Hi, I'm using jsTree and I need to convert this HTML tag tree code <ul> <li> to a PHP array. The jsTree HTML tag will be passed to PHP to be parsed and store in a structured tree PHP array(see below for the PHP array structure). Additional question: Is my desired PHP array structure good or you can suggest a good structure? I'm open for suggestions. Thanks in advance :) Cheers, Mark jsTree Screenshot: HTML Tree String: <ul class="ltr"> <li id="phtml_1" class=" open"> <a style="" class=" " href="#"><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Folder 1</a> <ul> <li class="leaf" id="phtml_2"> <a style="" class=" " href="#"><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Child 1.1</a> </li> <li class="open" id="phtml_3"> <a style="" class=" " href="#"><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Folder 1.1</a> <ul> <li class="leaf last" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class=" "><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Child 1.1.1</a> </li> </ul> </li> <li class="last open" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class=" "><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Folder 1.2</a> <ul> <li class="leaf" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class=" "><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Child 1.2.1</a> </li> <li class="leaf last" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class=" "><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Child 1.2.2</a> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> <li id="phtml_5" class="file open"> <a style="" class=" " href="#"><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Folder 2</a> <ul> <li class="leaf" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class=" "><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Child 2.1</a> </li> <li class="leaf last" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class="clicked"><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Child 2.2</a> </li> </ul> </li> <li class="leaf last" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class=" "><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Outer Child</a> </li> </ul> PHP Array Structure: <?php $tree_array = array( 'Folder 1' => array( 'Child 1.1', 'Folder 1.1' => array( 'Child 1.1.1' ), 'Folder 1.2' => array( 'Child 1.2.1', 'Child 1.2.2' ), ), 'Folder 2' => array( 'Child 2.1', 'Child 2.2' ), 'Outer Child' ); echo '<pre>',print_r($tree_array),'</pre>'; ?> PHP print_r Output: Array ( [Folder 1] => Array ( [0] => Child 1.1 [Folder 1.1] => Array ( [0] => Child 1.1.1 ) [Folder 1.2] => Array ( [0] => Child 1.2.1 [1] => Child 1.2.2 ) ) [Folder 2] => Array ( [0] => Child 2.1 [1] => Child 2.2 ) [0] => Outer Child )

  • Parsing tables, cells with Html agility in C#

    - by Kaeso
    I need to parse Html code. More specifically, parse each cell of every rows in all tables. Each row represent a single object and each cell represent different properties. I want to parse these to be able to write an XML file with every data inside (without the useless HTML code). This is the way I thought it out initially but I ran out of ideas: HTML: <tr> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF"> 1 </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="left"> <a href="/ice/player.htm?id=8471675">Sidney Crosby</a> </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="center"> PIT </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="center"> C </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 39 </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 32 </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 33 </td> <td class="statBox sorted" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #E0E0E0" align="right"> <font color="#000000"> 65 </font> </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 20 </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 29 </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 10 </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 1 </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 3 </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 0px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 0 </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 154 </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 20.8 </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 21:54 </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 22.6 </td> <td class="statBox" style="border-width:0px 0px 1px 0px; background-color: #FFFFFF" align="right"> 55.7 </td> </tr> C#: using HtmlAgilityPack; using System.Data; namespace Stats { class StatsParser { private string htmlCode; private static string fileName = "[" + DateTime.Now.ToShortDateString() + " NHL Stats].xml"; public StatsParser(string htmlCode) { this.htmlCode = htmlCode; this.ParseHtml(); } public DataTable ParseHtml() { var result = new DataTable(); HtmlDocument doc = new HtmlDocument(); doc.LoadHtml(htmlCode); HtmlNode row = doc.DocumentNode.SelectNodes("//tr"); foreach (var statBox in row.SelectNodes("//td[@class='statBox']")) { System.Windows.MessageBox.Show(statBox.InnerText); } } } }

  • In Email, Image (img) Source (src) Tags are rewritten as relative links. How to fix?

    - by Noah Goodrich
    I'm working on sending out an html based email, and every time it sends the image src tags and some of the anchor href tags are modified to be relative url's. Update 2: This is happening between when the body of the email is generated and sent and when it arrives in my inbox. Update: I am using Postfix on a LAMPP server. In addition, I am using Zend_Mail to send the emails out. For example, I have a link: src="http://www.furnituretrainingcompany.com/images/email/highpoint_2009_04/header.jpg" And it gets rewritten as: src="../../../../images/email/highpoint_2009_04/header.jpg" What can cause this to occur and how is it corrected? • Table header to stay fixed at the top when user scrolls it out of view with jQuery

    - by PeterBZ
    I am trying to design an HTML table where the header will stay at the top of the page when AND ONLY when the user scrolls it out of view. For example, the table may be 500 pixels down from the page, how do I make it so that if the user scrolls the header out of view (browser detects its no longer in the windows view somehow), it will stay put at the top? Anyone can give me a Javascript solution to this? <table> <thead> <tr> <th>Col1</th> <th>Col2</th> <th>Col3</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td>info</td> <td>info</td> <td>info</td> </tr> <tr> <td>info</td> <td>info</td> <td>info</td> </tr> <tr> <td>info</td> <td>info</td> <td>info</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> So in the above example, I want the <thead> to scroll with the page if it goes out of view. IMPORTANT: I am NOT looking for a solution where the <tbody> will have a scrollbar (overflow:auto).

  • JQuery Tooltip Plugin from Jorn

    - by Jeff Ancel
    I am thinking someone may have run across this one, but not sure. From a high level, I am trying to roll over a input [type=text] and display a tool tip (with the contained value) using the plugin available at http://bassitance.de. I have to use titles and classes for validation on the specific elements, so I put a blank div to hold the input [type=text] value for the roll over. Issue: It won't hold the value of 2 text boxes at once. Once I put a value in the box on the right, the tooltip on the left goes away. Same thing if I switch it aroun. I can't keep a tooltip on more than one element. Here is the code (Note: You will have to download the plugins in the source as I am not sure where the live versions are if there are any). <link rel="stylesheet" href="/scripts/jquery-tooltip/jquery.tooltip.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="/scripts/jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/scripts/jquery-tooltip/jquery.tooltip.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function(){ $("input").change(function(){ var newTitle = $(this).val(); $(this).parent().attr("title",newTitle); // re-init tool tip reload(); }); // Init tooltip reload(); }); reload = function(){ $("div").tooltip(); } </script> <body> <table border="1px solid black"> <tr> <td title="hello"> <div> <input type="text" value=""/> </div> </td> <td> <div> <input type="text" value=""/> </div> </td> </tr> </table> <div id="debug"></div> </body> </html>
