  • How do I add a custom view to iPhone app's UI?

    - by Dr Dork
I'm diving into iPad development and I'm still learning how everything works together. I understand how to add standard view (i.e. buttons, tableviews, datepicker, etc.) to my UI using both Xcode and Interface Builder, but now I'm trying to add a custom calendar control (TapkuLibrary) to the left window in my UISplitView application. My question is, if I have a custom view (in this case, the TKCalendarMonthView), how do I programmatically add it to one of the views in my UI (in this case, the RootViewController)? Below are some relevant code snippets from my project... RootViewController interface @interface RootViewController : UITableViewController <NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate> { DetailViewController *detailViewController; NSFetchedResultsController *fetchedResultsController; NSManagedObjectContext *managedObjectContext; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet DetailViewController *detailViewController; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSFetchedResultsController *fetchedResultsController; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSManagedObjectContext *managedObjectContext; - (void)insertNewObject:(id)sender; TKCalendarMonthView interface @class TKMonthGridView,TKCalendarDayView; @protocol TKCalendarMonthViewDelegate, TKCalendarMonthViewDataSource; @interface TKCalendarMonthView : UIView { id <TKCalendarMonthViewDelegate> delegate; id <TKCalendarMonthViewDataSource> dataSource; NSDate *currentMonth; NSDate *selectedMonth; NSMutableArray *deck; UIButton *left; NSString *monthYear; UIButton *right; UIImageView *shadow; UIScrollView *scrollView; } @property (readonly, nonatomic) NSString *monthYear; @property (readonly, nonatomic) NSDate *monthDate; @property (assign, nonatomic) id <TKCalendarMonthViewDataSource> dataSource; @property (assign, nonatomic) id <TKCalendarMonthViewDelegate> delegate; - (id) init; - (void) reload; - (void) selectDate:(NSDate *)date; Thanks in advance for all your help! I still have a ton to learn, so I apologize if the question is absurd in any way. I'm going to continue researching this question right now!

  • Table View Controller Problems

    - by happyCoding25
Hello, I added a table view into a view in interface builder and now I need to wire it up to some pre-made classes that you can generate in xcode. I set the tableview controller's class to the class in xcode and wired the dataSource and delegate to my table view but the app just crashes. Im not sure how to get data to properly load into my table view when using a tableview in a different view. If anyone knows how to do this any help is appreciated. Thanks

  • How to assign class property as display data member in datagridview

    - by KoolKabin
hi guys, I am trying to display my data in datagridview. I created a class with different property and used its list as the datasource. it worked fine. but I got confused how to do that in case we have nested class. My Classes are as follows: class Category property UIN as integer property Name as string end class class item property uin as integer property name as string property mycategory as category end class my data list as follows: dim myDataList as list(of Item) = new List(of Item) myDataList.Add(new Item(1,"item1",new category(1,"cat1"))) myDataList.Add(new Item(2,"item2",new category(1,"cat1"))) myDataList.Add(new Item(3,"item3",new category(1,"cat1"))) myDataList.Add(new Item(4,"item4",new category(2,"cat2"))) myDataList.Add(new Item(5,"item5",new category(2,"cat2"))) myDataList.Add(new Item(6,"item6",new category(2,"cat2"))) Now I binded the datagridview control like: DGVMain.AutoGenerateColumns = False DGVMain.ColumnCount = 3 DGVMain.Columns(0).DataPropertyName = "UIN" DGVMain.Columns(0).HeaderText = "ID" DGVMain.Columns(1).DataPropertyName = "Name" DGVMain.Columns(1).HeaderText = "Name" DGVMain.Columns(2).DataPropertyName = "" **'here i want my category name** DGVMain.Columns(2).HeaderText = "category" DGVMain.datasource = myDataList DGVMain.refresh() I have tried using mycategory.name but it didn't worked. What can be done to get expected result? Is there any better idea other than this to accomplish the same task? Edited My question as per comment: I have checked the link given by u. It was nice n very usefull. Since the code was in c# i tried to convert it in vb. Everything went good but failed at a point of case sensitive and next one is that i had my nested class name itemcategory and my property name was category. there it arouse the problem. it didn't searched for category but it searched for itemcategory. so confused on it. My Code as follows: Private Sub DGVMain_CellFormatting(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellFormattingEventArgs) Handles DGVMain.CellFormatting Dim DGVMain As DataGridView = CType(sender, DataGridView) e.Value = EvaluateValue(DGVMain.Rows(e.RowIndex).DataBoundItem, DGVMain.Columns(e.ColumnIndex).DataPropertyName) End Sub Private Function EvaluateValue(ByRef myObj As Object, ByRef myProp As String) As String Dim Ret As String = "" Dim Props As System.Reflection.PropertyInfo() Dim PropA As System.Reflection.PropertyInfo Dim ObjA As Object If myProp.Contains(".") Then myProp = myProp.Substring(0, myProp.IndexOf(".")) Props = myObj.GetType().GetProperties() For Each PropA In Props ObjA = PropA.GetValue(myObj, New Object() {}) If ObjA.GetType().Name = myProp Then Ret = EvaluateValue(ObjA, myProp.Substring(myProp.IndexOf(".") + 1)) Exit For End If Next Else PropA = myObj.GetType().GetProperty(myProp) Ret = PropA.GetValue(myObj, New Object() {}).ToString() End If Return Ret End Function

  • Reporting services and custom library

    - by niao
Greetings, In my Reporting Services report I've added reference to my custom library. It works fine. I can display the string which is returned from my custom library method as follows: =ClassLibrary1.MyClass.Parse("harry potter") Above code works fine - it should return SQL query based on passed parameters. My question is, how can I use this code in my DataSource. I'm trying to do something like this: SELECT * FROM =ClassLibrary1.MyClass.Parse(@searchedPhrase) But the above code does not work and the error is returned :"Incorrect syntax near ="

  • JMF. Create new custom streamdatasource

Hi there. I am looking to create a means of building a DataSource object (and hence a Processor) that gets data from a stream instead of a file, RTP, and so on. I am writing a module for a much larger application that is meant to transparently transcode audio data. Going through the JMF docs only specify how to create a source from file however I need to be able to create a source from a stream within my application. Any idea where I can start looking?

  • ColdFusion's cfquery failing silently

    - by johnthexiii
I have a query that retrieves a large amount of data. <cfsetting requesttimeout="9999999" > <cfquery name="randomething" datasource="ds" timeout="9999999" > SELECT col1, col2 FROM table </cfquery> <cfdump var="#randomething.recordCount#" /> <!---should be about 5 million rows ---> I can successfully retrieve the data with python's cx_Oracle and using sys.getsizeof on the python list returns 22621060, so about 21 megabytes. ColdFusion does not return an error on the page, and I can't find anything in any of the logs. Why is cfdump not showing the number of rows? Additional Information The reason for doing it this way is because I have about 8000 smaller queries to run against the randomthing query. In other words when I run those 8000 queries against the database it takes hours for that process to complete. I suspect this is because I am competing with several other database users, and the database is getting bogged down. The 8000 smaller queries are getting counts of col1 over a period of col2. SELECT count(col1) as count WHERE col2 < 20121109 AND col2 > 20121108 According to Adam Cameron's suggestions. cflog is suggesting that the query isn't finishing. I tried changing the queries timeout both in the code and in the CFIDE/administrator, apparently CF9 no long respects the timeout attribute, regardless of what I tried I couldn't get the query to timeout. I also started playing around with the maxrows attribute to see if I could discern any information that way. when maxrows is set to 1300000 everything works fine when maxrows is 1400000 or greater I get this error when maxrows is 2000000 I observe my original problem Update So this isn't a limit of cfquery. By using QueryNew then looping over it to add data and I can get well past the 2 million mark without any problems. I also created a ThinClient datasource using the information in this question, I didn't observe any change in behavior. The messages on the database end are SQL*Net message from client and SQL*Net more data to client I just discovered that by using the thin client along with blockfactor1="100" I can retrieve more rows (appx. 3000000).

  • jboss connection pooling

I have a question related to Prepared Steatement pooling (across all connections). Here's the config file <datasources> <local-tx-datasource> <jndi-name>JNDI-NAME</jndi-name> <connection-url>jdbc:mysql://<server_name>/<database_name>?useServerPrepStmts=true</connection-url> <driver-class>com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</driver-class> <user-name>xxx</user-name> <password>xxxxx</password> <min-pool-size>10</min-pool-size> <max-pool-size>20</max-pool-size> <idle-timeout-minutes>20</idle-timeout-minutes> <exception-sorter-class-name>org.jboss.resource.adapter.jdbc.vendor.MySQLExceptionSorter</exception-sorter-class-name> <valid-connection-checker-class-name>org.jboss.resource.adapter.jdbc.vendor.MySQLValidConnectionChecker</valid-connection-checker-class-name> <background-validation>true</background-validation> <background-validation-minutes>5</background-validation-minutes> <prepared-statement-cache-size>100</prepared-statement-cache-size> <share-prepared-statements>true</share-prepared-statements> <!-- sql to call when connection is created <new-connection-sql>some arbitrary sql</new-connection-sql> --> <!-- sql to call on an existing pooled connection when it is obtained from pool - MySQLValidConnectionChecker is preferred for newer drivers <check-valid-connection-sql>some arbitrary sql</check-valid-connection-sql> --> <!-- corresponding type-mapping in the standardjbosscmp-jdbc.xml --> <metadata> <type-mapping>mySQL</type-mapping> </metadata> </local-tx-datasource> </datasources> It seems that this line: <background-validation-minutes>5</background-validation-minutes> doesn't cause any problems with Prepared Statements, but: <idle-timeout-minutes>20</idle-timeout-minutes> causes that all connections are removed and re-created if there was no traffic for the last 20 minutes. Because of that existing Prepared Statements are removed from the pool of cached Prepared Statements. How to overcome this issue? I have to use idle-timeout-minutes because MySQL server closes the connection after 8h

  • Using empty row as default in a ComboBox with Style "DropDownList"?

    - by Pesche Helfer
    Hi board I am trying to write a method, that takes a ComboBox, a DataTable and a TextBox as arguments. The purpose of it is to filter the members displayed in the ComboBox according to the TextBox.Text. The DataTable contains the entire list of possible entries that will then be filtered. For filtering, I create a DataView of the DataTable, add a RowFilter and then bind this View to the ComboBox as DataSource. To prevent the user from typing into the ComboBox, I choose the DropDownStyle DropDownList. That’s working fine so far, except that the user should also be able to choose nothing / empty line. In fact, this should be the default member to be displayed (to prevent choosing a wrong member by accident, if the user clicks through the dialog too fast). I tried to solve this problem by adding a new Row to the view. While this works for some cases, the main issue here is that any DataTable can be passed to the method. If the DataTable contains columns that cannot be null and don’t contain a default value, I suppose I will raise an error by adding an empty row. A possibility would be to create a view that contains only the column that is defined as DisplayMember, and the one that is defined as ValueMember. Alas, this can’t be done with a view in C#. I would like to avoid creating a true copy of the DataTable at all cost, since who knows how big it will get with time. Do you have any suggestions how to get around this problem? Instead of a view, could I create an object containing two members and assign the DisplayMember and the ValueMember to these members? Would the members be passed as reference (what I hope) or would true copied be created (in which case it would not be a solution)? Thank you very much for your help! Best regards public static void ComboFilter(ComboBox cb, DataTable dtSource, TextBox filterTextBox) { cb.DropDownStyle = ComboBoxStyle.DropDownList; string displayMember = cb.DisplayMember; DataView filterView = new DataView(dtSource); filterView.AddNew(); filterView.RowFilter = displayMember + " LIKE '%" + filterTextBox.Text + "%'"; cb.DataSource = filterView; }
