• Netsh commands not working on remote computer

  Hello, At work, we are in the process of migrating over 200 computers from static IPs to DHCP. The DHCP server is configured. My biggest hurdle is physically going to every single computer in the area and configuring them all for DHCP. I am trying to use netsh to accomplish this. However, I cannot even seem to set one computer to DHCP remotely. The command I am trying is: netsh -r COMPUTERNAME interface ip set address name="Local Area Connection" source=dhcp netsh -r COMPUTERNAME interface ip set dns name="Local Area Connection" source=dhcp This results in the error The following command was not found: interface ip set address "name=Local Area Connection" source=dhcp. Any ideas?

• How lookaheads are propagated in "channel" method of building LALR parser?

  The method is described in Dragon Book, however I read about it in ""Parsing Techniques" by D.Grune and C.J.H.Jacobs". I start from my understanding of building channels for NFA: channels are built once, they are like water channels with current you "drop" lookahead symbols in right places (sources) of the channel, and they propagate with "current" when symbol propagates, there are no barriers (the only sufficient things for propagation are presence of channel and direction/current); i.e. lookahead cannot just die out of the blue Is that right? If I am correct, then eof lookahead should be present in all states, because the source of it is the start production, and all other production states are reachable from start state. How the DFA is made out of this NFA is not perfectly clear for me -- the authors of the mentioned book write about preserving channels, but I see no purpose, if you propagated lookaheads. If the channels have to be preserved, are they cut off from the source if the DFA state does not include source NFA state? I assume no -- the channels still runs between DFA states, not only within given DFA state. In the effect eof should still be present in all items in all states. But when you take a look at DFA presented in book (pdf is from errata): DFA for LALR (fig. 9.34 in the book, p.301) you will see there are items without eof in lookahead. The grammar for this DFA is: S -> E E -> E - T E -> T T -> ( E ) T -> n So how it was computed, when eof was dropped, and on what condition? • ODSI + weblogic = JDBC problem

  I'm currently developing a web service using ODSI through Oracle Workshop for WebLogic (ex AquaLogic). I created a datasource on weblogic using the driver "Oracle thin driver 10g", the test succeed on WebLogic. (My Database is Oracle 10 10.2.0.1.0) The problem occours when I try to create the Phisical Data Service in the Oracle Workshop. I choose the following options: Data source type = Relational Data source = [THE CORRECT NAME OF THE SOURCE SET ON WEBLOGIC] Database type = ??? Aqualogic, doesn't allow me to select the database type. I guess is a problem related to the driver set on weblogic... but I ain't sure.Does someone know the nature of my problem ? Tnx

• failing to achive tunneling to fresh ubuntu 10.04 server

• SQL 2000 and group names

  I have a SQL 2000 server which has databases, under user section of the database object, I have some NT 4.0 groups. These groups were migrated over to Active Directory some time ago using ADMT with SID history. The original source domain groups have since been deleted. The access shown is olddomain\groupname. I don't know why, if they were ntfs permissions they would update automatically to target\groupname. The users in the AD domain still have access to the database as they are a member of the migrated group (Target\groupname). I was wondering 1) Why does the old group (source\groupname) show up as it doesn't exist anymore. But access is still granted to the target group? 2) Is there any easy way to update the group name from source\groupname to target\groupname? Thanks for any help.

• Write DAX queries in Report Builder #ssrs #dax #ssas #tabular

  If you use Report Builder with Reporting Services, you can use DAX queries even if the editor for Analysis Services provider does not support DAX syntax. In fact, the DMX editor that you can use in Visual Studio editor of Reporting Services (see a previous post on that), is not available in Report Builder. However, as Sagar Salvi commented in this Microsoft Connect entry, you can use the DAX query text in the query of a Dataset by using the OLE DB provider instead of the Analysis Services one. I think it’s a good idea to show the steps required. First, create a DataSet using the OLE DB connection type, and provide the connection string the provider (Provider), the server name (Data Source) and the database name (Initial Catalog), such as: Provider=MSOLAP;Data Source=SERVERNAME\\TABULAR;Initial Catalog=AdventureWorks Tabular Model SQL 2012 Then, create a Dataset using the data source previously defined, select the Text query type, and write the DAX code in the Query pane: You can also use the Query Designer window, that doesn’t provide any particular help in writing the DAX query, but at least can show a preview of the result of the query execution. • VS 11 Beta merge tool is awesome, except for resovling conflicts

  If you've downloaded the new VS 11 Beta and done any merging, then you've probably seen the new diff and merge tools built into VS 11.  They are awesome, and by far a vast improvement over the ones included in VS 2010.  There is one problem with the merge tool though, and in my opinion it is huge.Basically the problem with the new VS 11 Beta merge tool is that when you are resolving conflicts after performing a merge, you cannot tell what changes were made in each file where the code is conflicting.  Was the conflicting code added, deleted, or modified in the source and target branches?  I don't know (without explicitly opening up the history of both the source and target files), and the merge tool doesn't tell me.  In my opinion this is a huge fail on the part of the designers/developers of the merge tool, as it actually forces me to either spend an extra minute for every conflict to view the source and target file history, or to go back to use the merge tool in VS 2010 to properly assess which changes I should take.I submitted this as a bug to Microsoft, but they say that this is intentional by design. WHAT?! So they purposely crippled their tool in order to make it pretty and keep the look consistent with the new diff tool?  That's like purposely putting a little hole in the bottom of your cup for design reasons to make it look cool.  Sure, the cup looks cool, but I'm not going to use it if it leaks all over the place and doesn't do the job that it is intended for. Bah! but I digress.Because this bug is apparently a feature, they asked me to open up a "feature request" to have the problem fixed. Please go vote up both my bug submission and the feature request so that this tool will actually be useful by the time the final VS 11 product is released.

• Music player that remembers last song and playlist

  I am looking for something similar to winamp. I have seen other threads but I have tried some solutions and they did not work. I tried Banshee that comes with Ubuntu 11.10 but it does not open last song. I tried Rhythmbox with the remember last song plugin however it does not remember the playlist I got the song from so it would start shuffling all my music. I tried Amarok and it does the same thing as Banshee except cannot even play my playlist and starts playing all my music. I tried audacious but importing my playlist .m3u doesnt allow me to select the individual playlists and play them. I just moved from Windows using winamp and would like a music player that can open playlists .m3u and when I open the application later that it opens the last song and playlist and I can press the play hotkey and music will start playing on startup similar to winamp. I do not care about any additional functionality or user interface.

• Getting a Conexant CX23885 TV Capture Card working

  I'm new to Linux, and am trying to get my Capture Card working on 11.04. The only command that I know to run to find out any information is lspci, which tells me that I have 02:00.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant Systems, Inc. CX23885 PCI Video and Audio Decoder (rev 04) I've looked at using Me TV, but haven't worked out how to configure it for my card, or what I need to do to get it running. I'm not fussed on what software I use to run the Capture Card, but I've currently got only Me TV installed.   WIF with SAML is solid and flexible, but unless you need the power, it can be overkill for simple claim assertion, and in the REST world WIF doesn’t have support for the latest token formats.  Simple Web Token (SWT) may not be around forever, but while it's here it's a nice easy format which you can manipulate in .NET without having to go down the WIF route. Assuming you have set up a Relying Party in ACS, specifying SWT as the token format: When ACS redirects to your login page, it will POST the SWT in the first form variable. Interestingly, ACS lets you have a value for your logged-in page which has no relation to the realm for authentication, so you can put this code into a generic claim inspector page, and set that to be your logged-in page for any relying party where you want to check what's being sent through. Particularly handy with ADFS, when you're modifying the claims provided, and want to quickly see the results.

• sshd running but no PID file

  I'm recently started using monit to monitor the status of sshd on my CentOS 5.4 server. This works fine, but every so often monit reports that sshd is no longer running. This isn't true - I am still able to login to the server via ssh, however I note the following: There is no longer any PID file at /var/run/sshd.pid - after a reboot this file exists. Once it is gone, restarting sshd via service sshd restart does not create the PID file. sudo service sshd status reports openssh-daemon is stopped - again, restarting sshd does not change this, but a reboot does. sudo service sshd stop reports failed, presumably because of the missing PID file. Any idea what is going on? Update sudo netstat -lptun gives the following output relating to port 22 tcp 0 0 :::22 :::* LISTEN 20735/sshd Killing the process with this PID as suggested by @Henry and then starting sshd via service results in service sshd status recognising the process by PID again. Would still like to understand this better. RPM verify suggested by a couple of answerers shows this: sudo rpm -vV openssh openssh-server openssh-clients | grep 'S\.5' S.5....T c /etc/pam.d/sshd S.5....T c /etc/ssh/sshd_config /etc/pam.d/sshd has the following contents: #%PAM-1.0 auth include system-auth account required pam_nologin.so account include system-auth password include system-auth session optional pam_keyinit.so force revoke session include system-auth #session required pam_loginuid.so Should that last line be commented out?   Oracle Linux 6.3 channels are now available online http://public-yum.oracle.com repositories. Both base channels and latest channels are available (for free for everyone) http://linux.oracle.com repositories. Behind our customer portal but effectively the same content. Source RPMs (.srpm) are being uploaded to http://oss.oracle.com/ol6/SRPMS-updates. OL6.3 contains UEK2 kernel-uek-2.6.39-200.24.1. The source rpm is in the above location but our public GIT repository will be synced up shortly as well at https://oss.oracle.com/git/?p=linux-uek-2.6.39.git;a=summary. Unlike some others, of course, complete source, complete changelog, complete checkin history, both mainline and our own available. No need to go assemble things from a website manually. Another cool thing coming up is a boot iso for OL6.3 that boots up uek (2.6.39-200.24.1) as install kernel and uses btrfs as the default filesystem for installation. • In Exim, is RBL spam rejected prior to being scanned by SpamAssassin?

  I've recently been battling spam issues on our mail server. One account in particular was getting hammered with incoming spam. SpamAssassin's memory use is one of our concerns. What I've done is enable RBLs in Exim. I now see many rejection notices in the Exim log based on the various RBLs, which is good. However, when I run Eximstats, the numbers seem to be the same as they were prior to the enabling of the RBLs. I am assuming because the email is still logged in some way prior to the rejection. Is that what's happening, or am I missing something else? Does anyone know if these emails are rejected prior to being processed by SpamAssassin? Or does anyone know how I'd be able to find out? Is there a standard way to generate SpamAssassin stats, similar to Eximstats, so that I could compare the numbers? Thank you for your time and any advice.   I just built myself an new workstation and now only 2 of 3 monitors are working. I built the nvidia driver by downloading it and installing with ./Nvidia... Before when I ran nvidia-settings I saw two GPUs listed but now I only see one. • Can't mount windows partition?

  When I try to open the Windows Partition from Ubuntu I receive the error: Unable to mount 55 GB Filesystem Error mounting: mount exited without exit code 13: ntfs_mst_post_read_fixup_warn: magic: 0x04010400 size: 1024 usa_ofs: 1026 usa_count: 1026: Invalid argument Record 6 has no FILE magic (0x4010400) Failed to open inode FILE_Bitmap: Input/output error Failed to mount '/dev/sda2': Input/output error NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware. In the first case run chkdsk /f on Windows then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very important! If the device is a SoftRAID/FakeRAID then first activate it and mount a different device under the /dev/mapper/directory, (e.g. /dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation for more detail. Additionally, I can't open the Windows Partition. I've tried updating it many times but it won't show up on GRUB. Does anybody know what all this means? And how I might fix it? I thank you for any help in advance

  Within BizTalk there is a functoid called Record Count that will return the number of instances of a repeated record or repeated element that occur in a message instance. The input to this functoid is the record or element to be counted. As an example take the following Source schema, where the Source message has a repeated record called Box and each Box has a repeated element called Item: An instance of this Source schema may look as follows; 2 box records - one with 2 items and one with only 1 item. Our destination schema has a number of elements and a repeated box record.  The top level elements contain totals for the number of boxes and the overall number of items.  Each box record contains a single element representing the number of items in that box. Using the Record Count functoid it is easy to map the top level elements, producing the expected totals of 2 boxes and 3 items: We now need to map the total number of items per box, but how will we do this?  We have already seen that the record count functoid returns the total number of instances for the entire message, and unfortunately it does not allow you to specify a scoping parameter.  In order to acheive Scoped Record Counting we will need to make use of a combination of functoids. As you can see above, by linking to a Logical Existence functoid from the record/element to be counted we can then feed the output into a Value Mapping functoid.  Set the other Value Mapping parameter to "1" and link the output to a Cumulative Sum functoid. Set the other Cumulative Sum functoid parameter to "1" to limit the scope of the Cumulative Sum. This gives us the expected results of Items per Box of 2 and 1 respectively. I ran into this issue with a larger schema on a more complex map, but the eventual solution is still the same.  Hopefully this simplified example will act as a good reminder to me and save someone out there a few minutes of brain scratching.

• SVN Server not responding

  I've been bashing my head against a wall with this one all day and I would greatly appreciate a few more eyes on the problem at hand. We have an in-house SVN Server that contains all live and development code for our website. Our live server can connect to this and get updates from the repository. This was all working fine until we migrated the SVN Server from a physical machine to a vSphere VM. Now, for some reason that continues to fathom me, we can no longer connect to the SVN Server. The SVN Server runs CentOS 6.2, Apache and SVN 1.7.2. SELinux is well and trully disabled and the problem remains when iptables is stopped. Our production server does run an older version of CentOS and SVN but the same system worked previously so I don't think that this is the issue. Of note, if I have iptables enabled, using service iptables status, I can see a single packet coming in and being accepted but the production server simply hangs on any svn command. If I give up waiting and do a CTRL-C to break the process I get a "could not connect to server". To me it appears to be something to do with the SVN Server rejecting external connections but I have no idea how this would happen. Any thoughts on what I can try from here? Our IPCop (?) firewall allows connections from it (and it alone) on port 80 and passes the connection to the SVN Server. • Problem with script that excludes large files using Duplicity and Amazon S3

  I'm trying to write an backup script that will exclude files over a certain size. If i run the script duplicity gives an error. However if i copy and paste the same command generated by the script everything works...
