• Windows Explorer argument not being interpreted?

  I'm currently using: Process.Start("explorer.exe", "/Select, " + fullPath); //with file name.extension That basically tells windows explorer to open the folder where the file is in, with the given file selected. But, by the forces of evil, sometimes it works and sometimes it just opens the file ("/select" is... ignored) Has anyone ever experienced this? If it changes anything, it's a file in a local network and the path looks like this \\server\folder\subfolder\something\file.ext (of course in c# every '\' is doubled, and @ is not a choice, the path is generated by something else) I'll be constantly reading comments to supply any aditional information

• android: How to set a listener that fires when my ViewFlipper shows a new child

  Hi Android gurus, I have a ViewFlipper for which I want a listener to fire when the child displayed is changed. I have set an OnFocusChangeListener to the ViewFlipper but it never fires when I flip from child 0 to child 1 or vice-versa. The ViewFlipper contains two RelativeLayouts and I have tried setting OnFocusChangeListeners for those but I get a ClassCastException when I try to set it. • Running msiexec from a service (Local System account)

  We are working on an update system for our software. The updater should in the background as a service, and when an update is available, downloads and installs it. We need the service to install the update since the msi requires elevation to run, but some of our clients will be restricted users. The MSI is a WIX MSI and does a Major Upgrade when run. The problem is, the update does not seem to work when ran from our service. I can see msiexec run, and it returns successfully, but seems to make no changes to the system. The same command, when run from my user account works as expected. Is there some caveat to running msiexec from a Local System service? I also see the call to the InternalConverter.Convert method, which sees the expected parameters (I see the collection provided by the nested {Binding}) and is successfully able to retrieve the ICollectionView for the incoming collection. The only problem is that FilterInternal never gets called. The template is ultimately being used by a TreeView, if that's relevant. I haven't been able to figure out why the FilterInternal method is not being called and I was hoping somebody might be able to offer some insight.

• AdMob ads on Android app are not rotating / refreshing

  Has anyone else had this problem? I have a game, and the Ads show at the top of the phone above my game view. When I'm tapping away on the game, the ads just stay the same. BUT, if I don't touch anything and wait the 15 seconds, as is set in my Interval, THEN the ad changes (usually). I don't get any error reports. There's nothing to indicate that this shouldn't be working just fine, but I have no idea why my ads aren't refreshing or rotating while I'm interacting with the other View in my application. Any direction or thoughts would be helpful, thank you!

• Force "Internet Explorer 8" browser mode in intranet

  There are "Internet Explorer 8", "Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility Mode", and IE7 mode in IE8. However, the default setting in IE make all intranet website use "IE8 Compatibility Mode" even I have setted doctype, the meta tag, http header as suggested to force it into IE8 mode. I have <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd" and <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" But it still goes into "IE8 Compatibility Mode", without any changes in IE setting. How to force it into pure "IE8" mode, without change any browser's setting? PS. I am not talking "document mode" here.

• SharePoint Workflow: how to update the item without triggering the workflow again

  I have a SharePoint workflow which is running whenever the item changes. The workflow communicates with an external REST service. If the service returns a string, I want to update one of the field values with that string. Unfortunately, this update will trigger another instance of the workflow for this item once the current workflow terminates. I end up with an infinite loop! How I can prevent this from happening? SPListItem has Update(), UpdateOverwriteVersion(), and SystemUpdate() methods but none of them seem to prevent subsequent workflows from being triggered. I could inspect the last modified timestamp of the item and terminate the workflow if the last update happened within a certain timespan, but I am looking for a more robust solution.

  I currently have a UISegmentedControl set to add/remove table view cells when its value changes. Removing cells works perfectly, however when I insert cells they're in reverse order every other time. • SSRS 2008 - How to hide the plus icon in a group visibility toggle cell

  I have a report that shows or hides columns in a group based on a header cell. SSRS makes this pretty easy and is kind enough to place a little plus/minus icon in the toggling cell. I want to HIDE this plus/minus icon when there is only one column of data in the subgroup, because it shows that one column by default so expanding the group doesn't do anything. This really only applies to one specific group, because all the others always have more than one column of data, so a way to hide only the icon for a specific group would be fine. JavaScript won't work (I don't think) because the client ID of the plus/minus image is generated by the report and changes with each generation. see this image for more clarity: http://imgur.com/vqaQA.png

  I'm using an TreeListView (a sub type of ObjectListView) in my current project. Each item in the list is given an icon, but the icon my vary depending on the state of the item. For example if the item is readonly I want to use an icon with a little lock symbol. When the items are first added to the TreeListView the icons are show correctly, yet later when the state of an item changes the icons are not updating. How do I force the control to regenerate all the icons?

  Hello everybody. I am creating a simple Changelog lib in CodeIgniter that will basically log a message everytime someone adds, deletes, changes or publish a blog post. I will log messages in files by batches of 300. So every 301st message will go in a new file. At first I wanted to write the logs to simple .log files but then I got the idea to actually style the thing and I had to seperate each "attribute" of each message (ie: the user, the message, the type of the log, etc.). So .log files are out of the question since extracting the info would be a pain. What is the most appropriate format for such a task? I already ruled out MySQL and XML because they are too heavy (especially considering that the log files won't exceed (about) 300 lines). I suggested YAML vs JSON vs CSV in the title, but is there yet a better alternative?

• How to autoscroll on WPF datagrid

  Hi, I think I am stupid. I searched now for 15 minutes, and found several different solutions for scrolling on datagrids, but none seems to work for me. I am using WPF with .NET 3.5 and the WPF Toolkit DataGrid. My grid gets updated when my observable collection changes, works perfectly. Now, my DataGrid is located inside a normal Grid and scrollbars appear if the DataGrid gets to big. Also fine... And know, the 1.000.000 $ question: How do I get the datagrid to scroll to the last row. There is: no AutoScroll Property no CurrentRowSelected Index a CurrentCell, but no Collection I could use for CurrentCell = AllCells.Last Any ideas? I feel really stupid, and it seems strange that this question is so hard. What am I missing?

  This is a Windows Console application (actually a service) that a previous guy built 4 years ago and is installed and running. I now need to make some changes but can't even build the current version! Here is the build output: --------------------Configuration: MyApp - Win32 Debug-------------------- Compiling resources... The code does not actually use _socket_noblock but I can't find anything on it on the 'net. Presumably it is used by some library I am linking to but I don't know what library it is in. --- Alistair.

• rsRenderingExtensionNotFound error using SSRS 2005

  Hi, I am trying to use the Sharp-shooter Silverlight report viewer control. This control has a server side component that renders the reports as XAML for displaying in the client side control. I have tried manually installing the rendering extension, according to the instructions on their website, and also the instructions on MSDN. I have basically copied the dll's into the reporting services bin folder and added the following line to rsreportserver.config file: <Extension Name="XAML" Type="PerpetuumSoft.ReportingService.XamlRendering.XamlRenderer,PerpetuumSoft.ReportingService.XamlRendering"/> I've also added a line into the rssrvpolicy.config file as specified on their site. After I made these changes I went into windows services and restarted the Reporting Services services but I get the following error when I try to run reports: rsRenderingExtensionNotFound: An attempt has been made to use a rendering extension that is not registered for this report server Is there anything else that I need to do to use a custom rendering extension within SSRS 2005?

  Hi, Can I rerender a jsf ui component when a valuechangelistener method is run? The reason i'm asking is that my valuechangelistener method changes the values of the input boxes but when I run it, they don't seem to be rerender. The following doesn't work: <h:inputText id="inputbox_id"/> <h:selectOneMenu valueChangeListener="#{myBean.changeCountryMenu}"> <a4j:support event="onchange" rerender="inputbox_id" action="#{bean.test}> </h:selectOneMenu> Notice that bean.test() is never run.   I've just installed Visual Studio 2010 and have created a new MVC2 project so that I can learn about the changes and updates and have discovered an issue with areas that I'm not sure what to make of. I created a new EMPTY MVC2 project I right clicked the project and, from the context menu, added a new area called "Test" In the new test area, I added a controller called "Data". The code is: public class DataController : Controller { // // GET: /Test/Data/ public ActionResult Index() { Response.Write("Hi"); return new EmptyResult(); } } Now, I compile and call this address: http://localhost/mytest/test/data and get the output: Hi All good. Now I call this: http://localhost/mytest/data and get the same response! I thought routing was supposed to take care of this? Am I overlooking something? Or has the default project setup for MVC2 overlooked something?

• How to change stack size for a .NET program?

  I have a program that does recursive calls for 2 billion times and the stack overflow. I make changes, and then it still need 40K resursive calls. So I need probably serveral MB stack memory. I heard the stack size is default to 1MB. I tried search online. Some one said to go properties -linker .........in visual studio, but I cannot find it. Does anybody knows how to increase it? Also I am wondering if I can set it somewhere in my C# program? P.S. I am using 32-bit winXP and 64bit win7.

• Excel tab sheet names vs. Visual Basic sheet names

  It seems that Visual Basic can not reference sheets according to user-modified sheet names. The worksheet tabs can have their names changed, but it seems that Visual Basic still thinks of the worksheet names as Sheet1, etc., despite the workbook tab having been changed to something useful. I have this: TABname = rng.Worksheet.Name ' Excel sheet TAB name, not VSB Sheetx name. Thanks, Bill Gates. but I would like to use sheet names in Visual Basic routines. The best I could come up so far is to Select Case the Worksheet Tab vs. Visual Basic names, which doesn't make my day. Visual Basic must know the Sheet1, Sheet2, etc., names. How can I get these associated with the Excel tab names so that I don't have to maintain a look-up table which changes with each new sheet or sheet tab re-naming? Thanks in advance for your replies.

• Adding video and flash functionality to the Ajax Control Toolkit HTMLEditor

  Greetings, I'm looking for a way to extend the functionality of the HTMLEditor control that the Ajax Control Toolkit supplies for ASP.net. I would like to add video and flash functionality to the editor (buttons, allowed tags, etc). To my knowledge, this is rather easy: plop in an tag with the correct parameters and it just works; I have videos running in the preview window of the editor. Unfortunately, the tag is stripped away when saving the HTML-code and updating it in the database. Hence, I would like to ask if there is any way of adding this functionality apart from manually adding the changes in the source control repository of the Ajax Control Toolkit and recompiling it. If this is not possible, but can offer some help concerning the implementation of this in the source code, it would also be much appreciated. Thank you for your time :)

This MDIWindow is called maximize() after windowManager.add(). I tried to set width of column but when it become maximize the width changes. I've no idea how to set width. Could you give me a hand?   I can't get Tortoisehg (1.0) to work with subrepos I have a directory structure like this: root .hg .hgsub .hgsubstate Customer1 Project1 .hg foo.txt Project2 .hg Customer2 Project3 .hg the .hgsub file under root looks like Customer1\Project1=Customer1\Project1 Customer1\Project2=Customer1\Project2 Customer2\Project3=Customer2\Project3 If modify the file Customer1\Project1\foo.txt and commit from the root it works >hg ci -m "command line commit" committing subrepository customer1\project1 in Tortoisehg customer1\project1 is displayed with status S (subrepo) but when commiting I get a message abort: customer1/project1: no match under directory! Is this scenario not supported or am I doing something wrong? The doc says: "TortoiseHg 1.0 introduced rudimentary support for subrepositories, and only in the commit / status tool. When Mercurial considers a subrepo as dirty, it will appear in the commit tool as a special entry in the file list with a status of S. If a subrepo is included in the file list of a commit, the subrepo is committed along with the other changes, updating the .hgsubstate file in the main repository root."

  im trying to use the jquery fullcalendar. The event data comes from the server using JSON. My page has a dropdown element and the fullcalendar div. What i need is to refresh the calendar each time the user changes the dropdown.
