  • Partial coverage of a return statement in C++/CLI

    - by brickner
    I have C++/CLI code and I'm using Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite Code Coverage. The code header: // Library.h #pragma once #include <string> using namespace System; namespace Library { public ref class MyClass { public: static void MyFoo(); static std::string Foo(); }; } The code implementation: #include "Library.h" using namespace Library; using namespace System; void MyClass::MyFoo() { Foo(); } std::string MyClass::Foo() { return std::string(); } I have a C# unit test, that calls MyClass.MyFoo(): [TestMethod] public void TestMethod1() { Library.MyClass.MyFoo(); } For some reason, I don't get a full code coverage for MyClass. The Foo() method has 3 uncovered blocks and 5 covered blocks. The closing curly brackets (}) are marked in orange - partially covered. I have no idea why is it partially covered instead of fully covered, and this is my question.

  • Re-order form fields on submit url

    - by user2521764
    I have a get form with several visible and hidden input fields. When the form is submitted, selected fileds with their values are appended to the url in the order they are placed in the form. Is there a way to re-order the parameters in the url using jQuery? Note that for the reasons of usability, I can not re-order the elements on the form itself. I know it beggs the question "why would I want to do it?", but the reason is that I will be hitting a static page, so the order of the parameters have to be exactly how they are in the static page url. For example, my form returns a url: http://someurl??names=comm&search=all&type=list while the static page has a url: http://someurl??search=all&type=list&names=comm A simplified form example is here: <form id="search_form" method="get" action="http://www.cbif.gc.ca/pls/pp/ppack.jump" > <h2>Choose which names you want to be displayed</h2> <select name="names"> <option value="comm">Common names</option> <option value="sci">Scientific names</option> </select> <h2>Choose how you want to view the results</h2> <input type="radio" name="search" value="all" id="complete" checked = "checked" /> <label for="complete" id="completeLabel">Complete list</label> <br/> <input type="radio" name="p_null" value="house" id="house" /> <label for="house" id="houseLabel">House plants only</label> <br/> <input type="radio" name="p_null" value="illust" id="illustrat" /> <label for="illustrat" id="illustratLabel">Plants with Illustrations</label> <br/> <input type="hidden" name="type" value="list" /> <input type="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> I can get form fields with values using $(#search_form).serializeArray() and massage the array like I want to, but I don't know how to set it back, i.e. modify the serialized values so that the submitted url has my order of parameters. I'm not even sure if this is the right way to go about it, so any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

  • C - memset segfault for statically allocated char array

    - by user1327031
    I get a segfault when trying to memset an array of chars that was allocated statically, but not for an array of the same length that was allocated using malloc. variable definitions: //static char inBuff[IN_BUFF_LEN]; //dynamic char * inBuffD; function call: //static, cast used because char** != char (*) [n] serverInit(portNum, (char**) &inBuff, &serv_addr, &sockfd) //dynamic serverInit(portNum, &inBuffD, &serv_addr, &sockfd) use within the function: memset(*inBuffAdr, 0, IN_BUFF_LEN); I suspect that my problem is in the difference of the function calls, or to be more precise, my incomplete understanding of the "char** != char (*) [n]" situation. But I have been banging at this for too long and can't see the forest from the trees so any hints and advice would be very appreciated.

  • Upload a .pdf file to a Sharepoint Document Library using Access vba

    - by Jim Shaffer
    Within an Access 2007 application, I'm creating a static report in .pdf format. I want to create it, then export the static report (not the data itself) to a Sharepoint Document Library. The intent is for it to be a public repository, no versioning. Each report will carry a unique name. I'm a seasoned vba programmer, but using Sharepoint services is new to me. How do I go about doing this? Assume I can identify the file name and location after I've generated it, and I know the Sharepoint library URL, and have permissions. Where do I go from there?

  • C# Closing a form during a constructor

    - by pm_2
    Is it possible to close a form while the constructor is executing (or simply to stop it showing at this stage)? I have the following code: public partial class MyForm : Form { public MyForm() { if (MyFunc()) { this.Close(); } } } Which errors in Main(), here: static void Main() { ... // Following line errors Application.Run(new MyForm()); } I’ve tried checking the result of MyForm like this: static void Main() { ... MyForm frm = new MyForm(); if (frm != null) { // Following line errors Application.Run(frm); } } But that doesn’t seem to help. Can anyone tell me a way around this, please? Maybe a way to check the form to see if it still exists?

  • C++ Singleton design pattern

    - by Artem Barger
    Recently I've bumped into a realization/implementation of the Singleton design pattern for C++. It has looked like this (I have adopted it from the real life example): // a lot of methods are omitted here class Singleton { public: static Singleton* getInstance( ); ~Singleton( ); private: Singleton( ); static Singleton* instance; }; From this declaration I can deduce that the instance field is initiated on the heap. That means there is a memory allocation. What is completely unclear for me is when exactly the memory is going to be deallocated? Or is there a bug and memory leak? It seems like there is a problem in the implementation. My main question is, how do I implement it in the right way?

  • In WPF XAML how can I concatenate 2 constants so I can use pre-define paths?

    - by toaster24
    I'm new to XAML, so presume I'm missing something simple. I want to replace the path part of the source path with a c# constant for easier path management, for example I have: <Image Source="/Images/Themes/Buttons/MyPicture.png" /> and in another class I have my constant defined: public static readonly string UriImagesButtons = "/Images/Big/PNG/"; I want to have something along the lines of: <Image Source="{static:UriImagesButtons + MyPicture.png}" /> This means that I can change the path globally at a stroke if the need arises. What's the syntax to do this?

  • Why this works (Templates, SFINAE). C++

    - by atch
    Hi guys, reffering to yesterday's post, this woke me up this morning. Why this actually works? As long as the fnc test is concerned this fnc has no body so how can perform anything? Why and how this works? I'm REALLY interested to see your answers. template<typename T> class IsClassT { private: typedef char One; typedef struct { char a[2]; } Two; template<typename C> static One test(int C::*); //NO BODY HERE template<typename C> static Two test(…); //NOR HERE public: enum { Yes = sizeof(IsClassT<T>::test<T>(0)) == 1 }; enum { No = !Yes }; }; Thanks in advance with help to understand this very interesting fenomena.

  • Visual Studio 2010 debug minidump

    - by Snake
    Hi all, Consider the following code (written with Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4.0) using System; namespace DumpTester { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { int test = new Random().Next(); Console.WriteLine(test + new Random().Next()); Test(); } private static void Test() { throw new Exception(); } } } When running outside of Visual Studio you get this nice window of Microsoft Windows 7 that it is looking for a solution. Obviously, since this is my app, there is none. At that point I create a full dump file of my application with for example Process Explorer. I then open that dmp file from its location and try to debug. But whatever I try, it can't find the location of the source symbols. I tried putting the pdb next to the dump but it just doesn't find it. What am I doing wrong?

  • Print an EObject ?

    - by tul
    I am writing some eclipse emf code and would like to print the content of an EObject (not store it to disk). Here is what I try: public static void print(EObject obj) { Resource eResource = obj.eResource(); try { eResource.save(System.out, null); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } but that gives a NullPointerException. I have tried this instead: public static void print(EObject obj) { ResourceSet resourceSet = new ResourceSetImpl(); resourceSet.getResourceFactoryRegistry().getProtocolToFactoryMap() .put("*", new XMIResourceFactoryImpl()); Resource resource = resourceSet.createResource(URI.createURI("dummyfile.xml")); resource.getContents().add(obj); try { resource.save(System.out, null); } catch (IOException ioe) { ioe.printStackTrace(); } } This works, but is it not possible to print to screen without specifying a dummy URI??

  • Searching a Better Solution with Delegates

    - by spagetticode
    Hey All, I am a newbie in C# and curious about the better solution of my case. I have a method which gets the DataTable as a parameter and creates a List with MyClass's variables and returns it. public static List<Campaigns> GetCampaignsList(DataTable DataTable) { List<Campaigns> ListCampaigns = new List<Campaigns>(); foreach (DataRow row in DataTable.Rows) { Campaigns Campaign = new Campaigns(); Campaign.CampaignID = Convert.ToInt32(row["CampaignID"]); Campaign.CustomerID = Convert.ToInt32(row["CustomerID"]); Campaign.ClientID = Convert.ToInt32(row["ClientID"]); Campaign.Title = row["Title"].ToString(); Campaign.Subject = row["Subject"].ToString(); Campaign.FromName = row["FromName"].ToString(); Campaign.FromEmail = row["FromEmail"].ToString(); Campaign.ReplyEmail = row["ReplyEmail"].ToString(); Campaign.AddDate = Convert.ToDateTime(row["AddDate"]); Campaign.UniqueRecipients = Convert.ToInt32(row["UniqueRecipients"]); Campaign.ClientReportVisible = Convert.ToBoolean(row["ClientReportVisible"]); Campaign.Status = Convert.ToInt16(row["Status"]); ListCampaigns.Add(Campaign); } return ListCampaigns; } And one of my another DataTable method gets the DataTable from the database with given parameters. Here is the method. public static DataTable GetNewCampaigns() { DataTable dtCampaigns = new DataTable(); Campaigns Campaigns = new Campaigns(); dtCampaigns = Campaigns.SelectStatus(0); return dtCampaigns; } But the problem is that, this GetNewCampaigns method doesnt take parameters but other methods can take parameters. For example when I try to select a campaign with a CampaignID, I have to send CampaignID as parameter. These all Database methods do take return type as DataTable but different number of parameters. public static DataTable GetCampaignDetails(int CampaignID) { DataTable dtCampaigns = new DataTable(); Campaigns Campaigns = new Campaigns(); dtCampaigns = Campaigns.Select(CampaignID); return dtCampaigns; } At the end, I want to pass a Delegate to my first GetCampaignList Method as parameter which will decide which Database method to invoke. I dont want to pass DataTable as parameter as it is newbie programming. Could you pls help me learn some more advance features. I searched over it and got to Func< delegate but could not come up with a solution.

  • How to find Key and IV value from .Net to PHP

    - by PHP-Prabhu
    Can any one please let me know is there any way to find a solution for the below stuffs. I need to find out the KEY and IV value from the below byte array. the byte array in .net and this has to be convert into KEY(string) and IV(string) via PHP. private static readonly byte[] Key = { 0xda, 0x3c, 0x35, 0x6f, 0xbd, 0xd, 0x87, 0xf0, 0x9a, 0x7, 0x6d, 0xab, 0x7e, 0x82, 0x36, 0xa, 0x1a, 0x5a, 0x77, 0xfe, 0x74, 0xf3, 0x7f, 0xa8, 0xaa, 0x4, 0x11, 0x46, 0x6b, 0x2d, 0x48, 0xa1 }; private static readonly byte[] IV = { 0x6d, 0x2d, 0xf5, 0x34, 0xc7, 0x60, 0xc5, 0x33, 0xe2, 0xa3, 0xd7, 0xc3, 0xf3, 0x39, 0xf2, 0x16 };

  • Sharing memory between modules

    - by John Holecek
    Hi, I was wondering how to share some memory between different program modules - lets say, I have a main application (exe), and then some module (dll). They both link to the same static library. This static library will have some manager, that provides various services. What I would like to achieve, is to have this manager shared between all application modules, and to do this transparently during the library initialization. Between processes I could use shared memory, but I want this to be shared in the current process only. Could you think of some cross-platform way to do this? Possibly using boost libraries, if they provide some facilities to do this. Only solution I can think of right now, is to use shared library of the respective OS, that all other modules will link to at runtime, and have the manager saved there.

  • Thread-safe use of a singleton's members

    - by Anthony Mastrean
    I have a C# singleton class that multiple classes use. Is access through Instance to the Toggle() method thread-safe? If yes, by what assumptions, rules, etc. If no, why and how can I fix it? public class MyClass { private static readonly MyClass instance = new MyClass(); public static MyClass Instance { get { return instance; } } private int value = 0; public int Toggle() { if(value == 0) { value = 1; } else if(value == 1) { value = 0; } return value; } }

  • Evaluation of (de)reference operators

    - by Micha
    I have an (uncommented...) source file which I'm trying to understand. static const Map *gCurMap; static std::vector<Map> mapVec; then auto e = mapVec.end(); auto i = mapVec.begin(); while(i!=e) { // ... const Map *map = gCurMap = &(*(i++)); // ... } I don't understand what &(*(i++)) does. It does not compile when just using i++, but to me it looks the same, because I'm "incrementing" i, then I'm requesting the value at the given address and then I'm requesting the address of this value?!

  • Sharing Code, Images and Core Data models across iPhone and Mac project

    - by Robert
    Hi, I am maintaining a fairly large mac project and an iphone client for this project. Some code as well as some images and core data models are shared between these two projects. I want to create a shared framework containing this shared components but to my surprise, frameworks like we cocoa developers known them are not supported on the iphone os. Currently I see the following options: a) Include the files in both projects (much tedious work) b) Create a static library for both projects and manually copying the images/core data models c) Create a static lib for iphone and a framework for mac Any suggestions?

  • CakePHP: How do I change page title from helper?

    - by Zeta Two
    Hello! I'm using a helper for static pages to add a part to the title on every page. Currently I have the following code at the top of every static page: <?php $this->set('title_for_layout', $title->output('Nyheter')); ?> The purpose of $title-output is to append " :: MY WEB SITE NAME". This works fine, but for simplicity I would rather just call: $title->title('Nyheter'); At the top of every page to set the title. The problem is that I can't call $this-set() from within the helper. Is there a way to something like this or am I completely on the wrong path here?

  • Any chances to imitate times() Ruby method in C#?

    - by Alexander Prokofyev
    Every time I need to do something N times inside an algorithm using C# I write this code for (int i = 0; i < N; i++) { ... } Studying Ruby I have learned about method times() which can be used with the same semantics like this N.times do ... end Code fragment in C# looks more complex and we should declare useless variable i. I tried to write extension method which returns IEnumerable, but I am not satisfied with the result because again I have to declare a cycle variable i. public static class IntExtender { public static IEnumerable Times(this int times) { for (int i = 0; i < times; i++) yield return true; } } ... foreach (var i in 5.Times()) { ... } Is it possible using some new C# 3.0 language features to make N times cycle more elegant?

  • Behaviour to simulate an enum implementing an interface

    - by fearofawhackplanet
    Say I have an enum something like: enum OrderStatus { AwaitingAuthorization, InProduction, AwaitingDespatch } I've also created an extension method on my enum to tidy up the displayed values in the UI, so I have something like: public static string ToDisplayString(this OrderStatus status) { switch (status) { case Status.AwaitingAuthorization: return "Awaiting Authorization"; case Status.InProduction: return "Item in Production"; ... etc } } Inspired by the excellent post here, I want to bind my enums to a SelectList with an extension method: public static SelectList ToSelectList<TEnum>(this TEnum enumObj) however, to use the DisplayString values in the UI drop down I'd need to add a constraint along the lines of : where TEnum has extension ToDisplayString Obviously none of this is going to work at all with the current approach, unless there's some clever trick I don't know about. Does anyone have any ideas about how I might be able to implement something like this?

  • How to determine IP used by client connecting to INADDR_ANY listener socket in C

    - by codebox_rob
    I have a network server application written in C, the listener is bound using INADDR_ANY so it can accept connections via any of the IP addresses of the host on which it is installed. I need to determine which of the server's IP addresses the client used when establishing its connection - actually I just need to know whether they connected via the loopback address 127.0.0.1 or not. Partial code sample as follows (I can post the whole thing if it helps): static struct sockaddr_in serverAddress; serverAddress.sin_family = AF_INET; serverAddress.sin_addr.s_addr = INADDR_ANY; serverAddress.sin_port = htons(port); bind(listener, (struct sockaddr *) &serverAddress, sizeof(serverAddress)); listen(listener, CONNECTION_BACKLOG); SOCKET socketfd; static struct sockaddr_in clientAddress; ... socketfd = accept(listener, (struct sockaddr *) &clientAddress, &length);

  • JAVA-SQL- Data Migration - ResultSets comparing Failing JUnit test

    - by user1865053
    I CANNOT get this JUnit Test to pass for the life of me. Can somebody point out where this has gone wrong. I am doing a data migration(MSSQL SERVER 2005), but I have the sourceDBUrl and the targetDCUrl the same URL so to narrow it down to syntax errors. So that is what I have, a syntax error. I am comparing the results of a table for the query SELECT programmeapproval, resourceapproval FROM tr_timesheet WHERE timesheetid = ? and the test always fails, but passes for other junit tests I have developed. I created 3 diffemt resultSetsEqual methods and none work. Yet, some other JUnit tests I have developed have PASSED. THE QUERY: SELECT timesheetid, programmeapproval, resourceapproval FROM tr_timesheet Returns three columns timesheetid (PK,int, not null) (populated with a range of numbers 2240 - 2282) programmeapproval (smallint,not null) (populated with the number 1 in every field) resourceapproval (smallint, not null) (populated with a number 1 in every field) When I run the query that is embedded in the code it only returns one row with the programmeapproval and resourceapproval columns and both field populated with the number 1. I have all jdbc drivers correctly installed and tested for connectivity. The JUnit Test is failing at this point according to the IDE. assertTrue(helper.resultSetsEqual2(sourceVal,targetVal)); This is the code: /*THIS IS A JUNIT CLASS****? package a7.unittests.dao; import static org.junit.Assert.assertTrue; import java.sql.Connection; import java.sql.PreparedStatement; import java.sql.ResultSet; import java.sql.Types; import org.junit.Test; import artemispm.tritonalerts.TimesheetAlert; public class UnitTestTimesheetAlert { @Test public void testQUERY_CHECKALERT() throws Exception{ UnitTestHelper helper = new UnitTestHelper(); Connection con = helper.getConnection(helper.sourceDBUrl); Connection conTarget = helper.getConnection(helper.targetDBUrl); PreparedStatement stmt = con.prepareStatement("select programmeapproval, resourceapproval from tr_timesheet where timesheetid = ?"); stmt.setInt(1, 2240); ResultSet sourceVal = stmt.executeQuery(); stmt = conTarget.prepareStatement("select programmeapproval, resourceapproval from tr_timesheet where timesheetid = ?"); stmt.setInt(1,2240); ResultSet targetVal = stmt.executeQuery(); assertTrue(helper.resultSetsEqual2(sourceVal,targetVal)); }} /*END**/ /*THIS IS A REGULAR CLASS**/ package a7.unittests.dao; import java.sql.Connection; import java.sql.DriverManager; import java.sql.ResultSet; import java.sql.ResultSetMetaData; import java.sql.SQLException; public class UnitTestHelper { static String sourceDBUrl = "jdbc:sqlserver://127.0.0.1:1433;databaseName=a7itm;user=a7user;password=a7user"; static String targetDBUrl = "jdbc:sqlserver://127.0.0.1:1433;databaseName=a7itm;user=a7user;password=a7user"; public Connection getConnection(String url)throws Exception{ return DriverManager.getConnection(url); } public boolean resultSetsEqual3 (ResultSet rs1, ResultSet rs2) throws SQLException { int col = 1; //ResultSetMetaData metadata = rs1.getMetaData(); //int count = metadata.getColumnCount(); while (rs1.next() && rs2.next()) { final Object res1 = rs1.getObject(col); final Object res2 = rs2.getObject(col); // Check values if (!res1.equals(res2)) { throw new RuntimeException(String.format("%s and %s aren't equal at common position %d", res1, res2, col)); } // rs1 and rs2 must reach last row in the same iteration if ((rs1.isLast() != rs2.isLast())) { throw new RuntimeException("The two ResultSets contains different number of columns!"); } } return true; } public boolean resultSetsEqual (ResultSet source, ResultSet target) throws SQLException{ while(source.next()) { target.next(); ResultSetMetaData metadata = source.getMetaData(); int count = metadata.getColumnCount(); for (int i =1; i<=count; i++) { if(source.getObject(i) != target.getObject(i)) { return false; } } } return true; } public boolean resultSetsEqual2 (ResultSet source, ResultSet target) throws SQLException{ while(source.next()) { target.next(); ResultSetMetaData metadata = source.getMetaData(); int count = metadata.getColumnCount(); for (int i =1; i<=count; i++) { if(source.getObject(i).equals(target.getObject(i))) { return false; } } } return true; } } /END***/ /*PASTED NEW CLASS - THIS IS A JUNIT TEST CLASS*/ package a7.unittests.dao; import static org.junit.Assert.*; import java.sql.Connection; import java.sql.DriverManager; import org.junit.Test; public class TestDatabaseConnection { @Test public void testConnection() throws Exception{ UnitTestHelper helper = new UnitTestHelper(); Connection con = helper.getConnection(helper.sourceDBUrl); Connection conTarget = helper.getConnection(helper.targetDBUrl); assertTrue(con != null && conTarget != null); } } /**END***/

  • Is it bad practice to select upstream servers based upon the HTTP method?

    - by PartlyCloudy
    I'm wondering if it is bad practice to have a reverse proxy that selects the upstream server depending on the HTTP method used? The background is that I have an abitrary web server that handles POST requests with some logic behind. The same resources also contain static content, that can be retrieved using GET. After some benchmarking I realized that nginx would handle the static content way faster than my abitrary web server doing this. I checked the option to forward incoming requests internally using nginx, which is feasible. But this would lead to the fact that different servers would serve a distinct resource, only depending on issuing a GET or POST, including different header fields.
