I am having problems with ColorBox to show a hidden report from ReportViewer as explained here.
Is there a JQuery lightbox which works well with the ASP.NET ReportViewer?
Hi,
I am looking for a jquery modal window script for displaying images, text, html, videos, etc.
There are a lot of great ones out there, but I am looking for one that allows for a long description (that isn't pulled from the title) - like highslide that lets you have a caption and will display the photo text to the right or left of your image in the same modal window.
Due to licensing, I can't use highslide. So I'm looking for something else.
Thoughts?
I am creating an element with document.createElement().
Now how can I pass it to a function that only takes a Jquery object?
$("#id")
I can not use it, as the element has not been rendered in the page yet.
I have a link in my HTML:
<a href="/DoSomethingDangerous">do something dangerous</a>
Visiting the DoSomethingDangerous link causes a not easily reversable action to occur.
So after the link is clicked on I would like a dialog box (eg "Are you sure?" "OK" "Cancel") to be displayed and if the user clicks Cancel the link is not visited and the browser remains at the same page.
What is the cleanest technique using either Javascript or jQuery to implement this?
ie6 isn't playing nice with my jquery snippet, why is this throwing a syntax error in IE6
if(typeof isIE6 !="undefined"){
$("#dropdown-list li").hover(
function(){ $(this).addClass("hover"); },
function(){ $(this).removeClass("hover"); },
);
};

I want a link that scrolls the page to the start of the <div class="content-body">
The same functionality as a: <a href="#maincontent">Skip</a>, and placing <a name="maincontent"></a> right next to <div class="content-body">
I am seeing if it is possible via jQuery, and want to know if I would run into any problems down the road using that method (besides the user having javascript disabled).

I'm watching a tutorial learning JQuery for the first time, and it seems you can select items using pretty much CSS, like:
$('ul li:nth-child(3)').addClass('biscuits');
Is that kind of selector going to work on all browsers, or just ones that support CSS 3 ?
Hi,
Do you think jquery could help me get the following script work faster?
Thanks!
window.onload=function colorizeCheckedRadios(){
var inputs = document.getElementsByTagName("input");
if (inputs) {
for (var i = 0; i < inputs.length; ++i) {
if(inputs[i].checked&&inputs[i].type=="radio"){
inputs[i].parentNode.parentNode.style.backgroundColor='#FCE6F4';
}
}
}
}
I'm trying to make a page scroll down 150px from the current position when an element is clicked. So lets say you're roughly halfway scrolled down a page. You click this link, and it will slide you down an additional 150 pixels.
Is this possible with jQuery?
I've been looking at scrollTop and the scrollTo plugin, but I can't seem to connect the dots.
I have used Jquery UI Tabs, and given close option to the tabs. By default i am creating three tabs and its corresponding three divs. Now when i close a tab then the tab and its div are removed. I need to just hide the tab and div and when i click Add Tab i should just show the hidden tab and div. I am not sure how to show/hide the tab and div property.
Thanks in advance.

i have a parent window and a child window. in javascript, i want a function in child window to be called whenever the parent window loads a new page. i'd like to use something similar to jQuery's $(document).ready() so that I don't have to worry about whether the parent is done loading yet - but ready() only appears to fire when the window loads the first page - but not when, say, a link is clicked in the parent and it loads a second page.
any suggestions? thanks.

how to change the other column in % value.. I need to show in a percentage form using jquery

I would like to run some code right after a certain set of elements are attached. jQuery.live() allows you to bind event handlers to elements, even if they are created later. But AFAIK there is no suitable method to do something like the following:
$("some selector").live("attach", function() { $(this).whatever(); });
How can I accomplish this?
My database consists of some entries which are NULL (so they don't affect max, min, etc..). When I pull all of the data from the database, I need to repopulate form fields with the values. Using .val(value) where value = NULL seems to work without any problems, but I'm not sure if this is a valid way to go about this. It doesn't say anything in the jQuery documentation (that I can find) about using NULL as parameters to functions.
I am very familiar with self executing functions from working with jQuery.
(function($) { /* do stuff */ })(jQuery);
Today I was reading the backbone.js source and noticed that they do this:
(function() { /* do stuff */ }).call(this);
Is this achieving the same thing? Would the following 2 lines of code do the same thing?
(function($) { /* do stuff */ })(jQuery);
(function($) { /* do stuff */ }).call(jQuery);
When we open plain swf in browser, we are able to control the swf file by right clicking, the available control are: zoom in, zoom out, quality, rewind (previous frame), forward (next frame), and print. Is it possible to trigger those control using javascript especially jquery?
Thanks.
