• Multitenant NHibernate application with with separate SQL Server schema for each tenant

  I am writing a new multi-tenant WCF RIA application. I plan to have a shared database with separate SQL Server schema for each tenant. I would like to use NHibernate for object-ralational mapping. Configuration of SQL Server schema in mapping classes doesn't help because it is static and would need one set of mapping classes for each tenant. Is it possible to dynamically configure ISession which SQL Server schema should be used for mapping objects to tables?

Some will prefer VB and other will like C# so the books need to give examples in both languages. • IBOutlet on properties and exposition of the class

  Apple, for memory management issues, recommend defining outlets on properties, not in the attribute declaration. But, as far as I know, declaring properties exposes the class to external classes, so this could be dangerous. On UIViewController we have the main view definition and the logic, so MVC is slightly cheated in this cases. What is the beteer approach, Apples's recommendation for memory-management or armored classes?

  I'm looking for a way to serialize Java objects into XML for use by a RESTful web service. I don't have an XSD. I have looked at the following: JAXB - fairly heavy weight with annotations required on classes and also an ObjectFactory class and/or a jaxb.index file Simple - requires annotations but no other config classes/files. Unfortunately it can't serialize Sets. XStream - no annotations etc. required, but doesn't support generics Does anyone else have any suggestions?

  I'm running into an odd issue in Objective-C when I have two classes using initializers of the same name, but differently-typed arguments. I did some stepping through the debugger and found that the isa pointer for both a and b objects ends up the same. I also found out that if I no longer make the alloc and init calls inline, both initializations seem to work properly, e.g.: A *a = [A alloc]; [a initWithNum:20.0f]; If I use this convention when I create both a and b, I get the right output and the isa pointers seem to be different for each object. Am I doing something wrong? I would have thought multiple classes could have the same initializer names, but perhaps that is not the case.

  I have several different test classes that require that certain objects are created before those tests can be run. Now I'm wondering if I should put the object initialization code into a separate helper class or superclass. Doing so would surely reduce the amount of duplicate code in my test classes but it would also make them less readable. Is there a guideline or pattern how to deal with common setUp-code for unit tests?

  I guess it is not possible to set stroke property such as CSS which is quite easy. With CSS we have dashed, dotted, solid but on canvas when drawing lines/or strokes this doesn't seem to be an option. How have you implemented this? • Damaged data when gzipping

  This is the script I hva written for gzipping content on my site, which is located in 'gzip.php'. The way i use it is that on pages where I want to enable gzipping i include the file at the top and at the bottom i call the output function like this: print_gzipped_page('javascript') If the file is a css-file i use 'css' as the $type-argument and if its a php file i call the function without declaring any arguments. The script works fine in all browsers except Opera which gives an error saying it could not decode the page due to damaged data.   i have built jQuery drop-down menu which is having problems floating over the UI header. Flash and everything else is fine, menu has no problem floating over anything except UI headers, i have tried messing with z-index in css files but it seems that jQuery script is over writing all of my css. the JS files are minified so i can not edit them.   In my application I use some icons. Where should I store the path of the directory containing those icons ? The icons are used in different classes so it doesn't really make sense to store them in one of those classes in particular. I read that global variables are evil, but is it acceptable to use a class (eg Commons) containing only public static final fields to store this king of data ?   I'm making my first steps in Test Driven Development with Visual Studio. I have some questions regarding how to implement generic classes with VS 2010. First, let's say I want to implement my own version of an ArrayList. I start by creating the following test (I'm using in this case MSTest): [TestMethod] public void Add_10_Items_Remove_10_Items_Check_Size_Is_Zero() { var myArrayList = new MyArrayList<int>(); for (int i = 0; i < 10; ++i) { myArrayList.Add(i); } for (int i = 0; i < 10; ++i) { myArrayList.RemoveAt(0); } int expected = 0; int actual = myArrayList.Size; Assert.AreEqual(expected, actual); } I'm using VS 2010 ability to hit ctrl + . and have it implement classes/methods on the go. I have been getting some trouble when implementing generic classes. For example, when I define an .Add(10) method, VS doesn't know if I intend a generic method(as the class is generic) or an Add(int number) method. Is there any way to differentiate this? The same can happen with return types. Let's assume I'm implementing a MyStack stack and I want to test if after I push and element and pop it, the stack is still empty. We all know pop should return something, but usually, the code of this test shouldn't care for it. Visual Studio would then think that pop is a void method, which in fact is not what one would want. How to deal with this? For each method, should I start by making tests that are "very specific" such as is obvious the method should return something so I don't get this kind of ambiguity? Even if not using the result, should I have something like int popValue = myStack.Pop() ? How should I do tests to generic classes? Only test with one generic kind of type? I have been using ints, as they are easy to use, but should I also test with different kinds of objects? How do you usually approach this? I see there is a popular tool called TestDriven for .NET. With VS 2010 release, is it still useful, or a lot of its features are now part of VS 2010, rendering it kinda useless? Thanks
